Can any police officers watching chime in?.. I normally don’t have much of a say on the gun law debates. But this one is scary.. Why would a red flag clause be grounds for police to enter someones home forcefully? Knowing now that all it takes to be complained on is a disgruntled ex girlfriend or something equally ridiculous. Since when do exes have anything nice to say? I can understand police taking a complaint serious and at minimum making contact in an ordinary fashion.. but full on “saddle up boys, lets go guns blazing and get this mf’er!” Is not a proper response to a bullshit complaint. And It appears to me that the individual in the case mentioned never actually broke any laws? Why was he approached like a criminal by multiple officers at 5am? Damn.. Surely police would use better discretion?.. any reasonable individual, especially police, would know that approaching a residence in that manner is going to be an abrupt surprise for anyone inside. Which would send any sane person into a panic. How well would an off duty officer react to a similar situation? I have never been in a situation where anyone is beating on my door that time of day.. but i can only imagine feeling that my options on how to handle it are limited, and feeling somewhat desperate until i knew for sure it was even police. So hell yeah, any sane person is going to have a gun in hand. And you know this! Dang man, this thing is bad.. Im really hoping some officers chime in here.
Cops aren’t reasonable, why do you think they work for the state enforcing unjust laws put in place by leftist. When the guns get ban who do you think is gonna kick your door in, shoot your dog, wreak your house, traumatize your family, possibly kill you and your loved ones, all without batting an eye? Yeah the cops... they aren’t your friend. They’re a violent tool of the state.
Cops won't reply because their jobs depend on it. Even though I've seen many posts by persons claiming to be police who say they wouldn't uphold Unconstitutional laws, fact is, they already have. There is no provision in the US Constitution for a war on drugs for example, since crime implies there is a victim. If someone forcibly makes an individual use drugs, that would be assault. That's a crime. But making an individual choice to use them (no matter how stupid we may think that individual is) is a victimless crime, thus doesn't qualify as criminal. DUI laws are along the same lines. They force the defendant to bear witness against themselves via mandatory drug or alcohol testing which is a clear violation of the 5th Amendment since no actual crime has yet been committed. If an individual has injured another citizen, that becomes a criminal act if it is determined by a court that alcohol consumption contributed to this injury, a case can be made against that individual. While it's obviously not a good idea to drive drunk, until a person actually causes harm to someone else, no crime has been committed. So, just like Red Flag laws, we preemptively arrest an individual for what MIGHT happen if they are allowed freedom of choice. There are of course thousands of examples of laws that revolve around the concept of victimless crimes and pre-crime that our police enforce every day in our society. Obviously we have laws that must be enforced because there is a victim. Robbery, homicides, rape etc... The easiest way to determine whether a law is justified, is to determine if their is a bona-fide victim and whether an individuals actions has caused harm to another without their consent. The State does not qualify for victim status since the State is an entity, not a person. Red Flag laws are just another example of a victimless crime statute, whereby someone loses their freedom based solely on the accusation of another for a crime they MIGHT commit at some later date. This is the very definition of tyranny and the entire purpose of our Bill of Rights to prevent this type of transgression against individual liberty.
Have a Security door to so if I do need to speak to them or anyone my dogs are restrained to the house, all I have to say is cage, and my pups go right in the kennels.

#1. These laws ignore the fact that a vast majority of the mass shootings took place using stolen guns. #2. These laws also ignore the fact that in nearly every single case, when the shooter has committed the act and the investigation is ongoing, the family members of the shooters nearly always say they weren’t a violent person, or they couldn’t believe they would do such a thing. These laws are highly ignorant to the notion of exes being vindictive and could lead to your social media posts being misinterpreted and used against you. The fact that your guns can be held from you for upwards of 45 days before you even get a date set to go before the judge to beg for your guns back completely ignores the part of 2A that states “shall not be infringed.”

My question is, how do we take these gripes into action? who do we talk to?who do we voice against? Because our gun community is great at addressing things like this on youtube but not good at translating them into real life.
This really grinds my gears. ATF stopped at my house the other day because I bought a gun and the “paperwork” wasn’t quite “correct” from the dealer which was what I was told so I assumed ok no problem I’ll bring the gun outside and the paperwork they can do what they need I had a gun on me in an appendix holster I told them because I felt like it was the correct thing to do but then they disarmed me came in my house had a checklist of all the pistols I’ve bought recently went through my safe matching my guns to there checklist. It sucked I felt violated. So anyway I took that same gun and sold it back to the dealer spoke with the owner about the occurrence and they told me no one from the ATF had been in his store for months to verify paperwork. I had recently moved to America a.k.a “Pennsylvania” for jerseites since we don’t have rights there in New Jersey and I got a little purchase happy since I didn’t have to deal with a purchaser card and purchase permits anymore I think they thought I was some straw purchaser or something. Anyhow I want to know how I can help fight for our rights in a bigger way then calling local reps that won’t spend a minute to speak with me soon as I say firearm.
I have a family full of law enforcement but I will have zero sympathy with any person or agency that loses someone enforcing these jokes of laws. Any officer worth anything should refuse to be a part of this.
I had a pistol stolen from me 8 years ago that I am still waiting to get back. Nearly 3 years after it was recovered I received a letter from the ATF notifying me that they have it and I needed to file a claim. I have been waiting over 8 months now to get it back or even get any kind of communication from the ATF telling me what the hell is going on. If they can make me wait this long when I have not even been accused of wrongdoing imagine how hard they could make it when you are the accused in one of these gun confiscation cases.

Funny you should mention the no knock warrant thing. When I was in college studying criminal justice I was taught about a story where the cops trying to serve a no knock warrant went to an apartment complex and went to the wrong unit, if memory serves they went to raid apartment 9 and accidentally raided apartment 6 who the previous evening had its number come loose swinging down to look like a 9. Well long story short in the raid they mowed down the apartment resident, who I may ad was on his couch watching TV. The cops got off without punishment, "They had no ill intend and could not know they raided the wrong address". So TLDR, in a no knock raid they can make a "mistake" and get off without discipline.
It is weird. Around 5 years ago, I was asked 2 or 3 times , on different occasions, by doctors if there were firearms in my home. All were my children's pediatricians. None ever would clearly state why they wanted this information.
A friend of mine's son got in a fight with a neighbor kid. The neighbor kid falsely reported my friend as a drug dealer. His home was raided his guns were taken and some heirlooms and antique guns he had were damaged beyond repair. They found some dropped tic tacs and had them tested. He was never compensated for the broken door or guns.
So already happening here in Nassau County NY. I had a crazy ex girlfriend stalking, harassing and threatening me. I reported her several times to the police and eventually had to get a temporary order of protection. While she has guns and I told them so it took me 10 days to have her served. 2 weeks later she filled a cross compliant against me claiming I had guns and threatened her after not having seen or having any contact with her for months. The Nassau County Sheriff's Department showed up at my door with several Deputy's and demanded all my long guns. In compliance I turned over my rifles and was told if the matter gets cleared my property would be returned to me. 2 months later she violated the order of protection I had against her several times and was told by the judge she would be incarcerated. The judge suggested that she withdraw the complaints, which she did, against me and the judge vacated the order which was the basis of the seizure of my long rifles. I went to Nassau County Sheriff's department with my Vacate order and asked to have my long guns returned to me. They refused saying they have a no return policy and not only will they not return my guns but I cannot even transfer ownership to someone else. This is so unknown. You can research this on Google just look up Nassau County Sheriff's Department Refusing to return seized guns. I was dealing with Deputy Meaterpieri who's named in the cases. This is going nowhere but will likely be the model used everywhere to take our property and violate all of our Rights
Dear Judiciary and Law Enforcement, you know how you tell if someone is dangerous? They are doing dangerous things (committing some kind of violent crime usually). Someone else thinking they could be dangerous is not the same as actually being dangerous. Every person I see everyday could be a deranged psychopath, so I keep my eyes open and take precautions and don't let my guard down. If there are people that don't protect themselves by being cautious then they run the risk or having a confrontation with a dangerous person, and that is their fault. Our rights don't end because someone is scared.
And other than the potential of armed conflict between law enforcement and lawful gun owners, the dumbest part of these laws is that the person that has their property stolen by unconstitutional force is usually expected to pay the government to store that property. It's all garbage.
Step (1) Let the gun grab beta test commence. To work some of the bugs out. Step (2) National gun confiscation by militarized police highly trained and informed on how to take your guns as well as your life.
Here’s a sad story: A married couple were fighting, eventually they stop and take some space. The lady calls her friend in Florida, she mentions the arguement she just had with her husband and after the conversation ends the wife’s friend in Florida(who apparently hated this guy) calls their local police telling them that her friend’s life is in danger and that they need to send officers over...they do, and guess what the guy was doing when they got there? He was in his kitchen cleaning his pistol, which was field stripped, the police saw this through the kitchen’s big glass doors and instead of announcing themselves(which they should have done when they first got there) they simply shot the guy through the doors, killing him. This fella was a friend of a friend, a doctor, and by all accounts a decent hard working man. Always be aware, things like this a happen all the time.

+1 (just commenting so I can see if an officer does reply)
They enforce the law, their hands are tied

The fact that your guns can be held from you for upwards of 45 days before you even get a date set to go before the judge to beg for your guns back completely ignores the part of 2A that states “shall not be infringed.”

according to this law, if a girl has a gun and an abusive ex boyfriend, wich she uses her guns to defend herself against this ex boyfriend. The ex boyfriend can ask a judge to take the girls guns away, making her a much easier target. Yeah that makes sense

New York Senate 9191 just came out. Pistol permit holders would have to submit 3 years of social media and 1 year of search history to get or renew your permit. Now were going to add the 1st and the 4th to the assault on the second amendment

Together we stand!!

And you have to pay for storage your guns.
