There is a reason why rappers like kieth aren't as recognized as they should be. That reason is money. Not all of his music but most of it isn't in the pocket or agenda of big record company's. Think of him as a mom an pop shop. You like the product but not everybody knows the place. Example is most rappers are like a Lowes or Walmart.

It's a catch 22 because if he got his proper due he wouldn't have stayed the same like Nas, Common, Kanye, RZA etc....obviously they are all legends but they lose some of their edge and creativity the more successful they get.
Hell, even DOOM got a bit formulaic before he passed.
