It's a shame more folks in the US haven't heard of this band. My wife and I were expats in Germany 1999-2001, and that's when we became aquatinted with Texas. We still love this music and many of their songs are still in both of our playlists. Great music and brings back so many great memories. And the irony... I am actually from Texas.

Texas being a Scottish band ! I would like to share with you the summer of 1989 I was in Fresno, California. . I had the Texas debut album called Southside on a Walkman tape (remember those ) and some USA friends heard I don't want a lover.. they loved every track literally fighting amongst themselves to who could keep the cassette tape. Texas have just toured the UK to mark 30 years and 90 million records sold.
I have uploaded a few of the concerts and in particular there is a very special gig in Glasgow in the very same studios of the first Texas release.. and Sharleen Spiteri loosing her balance ending up on the floor. Everyone was laughing with her and not at her !

I've seen Texas live, twice. Flawless. This song in particular she sings live better than the recording comes across. Not a reflection on her voice at all, but live the power and emotion and sheer beauty of her vocal range blows the roof off.

Awesome. When I, as an American, first moved to the UK, I hated the radio and tv. By the end of 9 years and I moved back I would have loved to keep Sky TV, Capital Radio, BBC 5 and some newspaper subscriptions. One thing I did take home was ever album by Texas. Loved them. Good job. This is my favorite Texas song.

The greatest band in history or what!
In the mid-1990s, Texas were at the height of their popularity. I think Sharleen was a big fan of Wong Kar-wai, and she wanted to pay homage to Chungking Express (and maybe Fallen Angels too). This song was also released in 1997, the year when Hong Kong was handed back over to China from Britain. Being from HK, this video feels like a time capsule - it captures that very special historic moment.

I was 11 years old when I heard this album in Spain, I fell in love with Texas, when I was a few years older my love for Texas grew with each studio album, and I realized how incredibly cinephiles they are, in this video clip and in another one that They did many years later pay tribute to Wong Kar Wai, I wish Wong included them in one of his soundtracks because I don't think there is any group in the world in which his love for his cinema is so noticeable.

I knew that Texas were huge cinephiles and had read that this clip was inspired by Wong Kar Wai, but it's only now, many years and many rewatches of his films later, that i realise the extent of the homage.
Normally, I can't stand Texas, and yet somehow I find this song almost overwhelmingly amazing.
