This song should put them back in the spotlights ... the most under rated band on the planet
Couldn't agree more
Hands down my favorite active American band.
I just got this song listening to it this time. So sad and beautiful at the same time.
you are correct indeed so underrated and sad !
I totally agree. 100'/,
Moves me to tears every damn time. 🪷
Every time. This version is special. Such a poignant song in many ways. Some people survive drugs and wars. Some don't.
Johnny Hickman with some of the sweetest and sexiest guitar and David with the most memorable and poetic lyrics - this is Cracker!
Gorgeous and so poignant. Love the obvious admiration and respect y’all have for each other.
An amazing song, this band is my favorite. Their music is timeless and I am glad that it is still around. Played for my boy from Petaluma, CA, still in the sandbox but we honored what his brother Jarheads sent home from Kandahar those years ago. I love all you Vets out there, especially those struggling with substance abuse or living on the streets, just a damn shame about it all, you know what I mean? Beautiful song, his name wasn't Jack but I think Warren understood. God Bless❤
I haven’t been so emotionally struck by a song centered on the death of the ‘singer’ since I was 10 years old listening to ‘Seasons of the Sun’ by Terry Jacks. Just gorgeous. This ‘gondola’ version is just stunning.
Thanks John 🙏 glad you enjoyed it
A real heart tugger if you relate to any part of this song and you are 100% right. God Bless.
Probably my favorite version of Almond Grove. Just fantastic work.
Wow this is a wonderful performance.
Glad you dig it Michael, have you seen the other Cracker ones we did?
just saw them in concert Friday night. This song moved me to tears. Thank you guys. Loved your band for 26 years and you all are just getting better. I've never been moved by one song this much before. Keep on making music.
just saw them in Richmond Va last night. such a fantastic show
just saw them in Richmond Va last night. such a fantastic show
i was just sharing this with a friend and was telling him how it moves me to tears, too. dammit beautiful sad song.
This song means so much to me because it is an affirmation that we get to see our loved ones again. That is my greatest hope and my biggest fear.
I can't totally relate. I grew up near the almond groves & cotton fields of Kern County. The 80's & early 90's had their own triumphs & tragedies in my life. I met members of Camper when I managed a:Wherehouse store in Bakersfield in 89. A life long fan since. 22 then & 53 now. Thanks for the continued work!
Did you mean “can totally relate”? Either way thanks for watching and sharing your story. Here’s to Camper 🍻
@@GondolaSessions Happy to. The only song t am really disturbed by is King of Bakersfield. A very small inaccurate slice of what it is to be there. I moved in 93. Was in the east till 2017. Went back for my dying dad then. I was shocked at what found. Violence, theft & drugs. Apathy. I was out my element. Was clubbed down by a cop. 3 weeks before my dad died. Why? Simply I looked out of place. With a suitcase waiting for a money transfer. That sob is at least as guilty as Chauvin. Difference is the BFL covers for it's renegade officers even against honest people & George Floyd had not been killed yet. May that officer & city government that covered him & others have a really interesting afterlife. Too bad they will not meet my dad. He didn't go the direction they will. One majorly corrupt city, but just the same with many good people there. Too bad they are not strong enough to change the way that now big cowtown works. Sad but true.
@@GondolaSessions To ammend. I went through the 80's & 90's there. When I was back in 2017/18 I spent time with those affected by the current Gulf war. My college friends were those that were there for first one. I am 53. A CSUB grad by 93. A Wherehouse manager that met Camper at manager meeting in LA with Syd Straw. The place is way stranger and not the dusty pass through on the way to Fresno it used to be.
This is absolutely beautiful! Such amazing song writers! Thank you
Boys, I love you for this song! .... and all the others....they inspired my life as no others...thanks a lot guys!
Saw them in Boston, circa 1994... blew my mind away👏👏🎼🎼🎵🎵🎶🎶

@@GondolaSessions kind of ^.^ I'm honored to of been replied to by you.. yall opened me up to an insane amount of amazing music I doubt I'd of found other wise. Thank you so much.
No stress! So stoked that we’ve helped you find new musicians to enjoy 🤗
Loved the sparse requirements of the gondola studio. Been listening since THSBTTB! Love the song, found out after first playing that it was a funeral dirge? If so or not, should be played at mine, and any other veteran that wants it. Patriot Guard.
Beautiful song ! I dream being their drummer :)
Love this song! I knew that gondola looked familiar! I've been in it a bunch of times 😂
JOHNNY!
Johnny did some serious acoustic shredding on this one for sure!
Nice. Makes me tear up. OK, so it has made me cry. And I'm not one of those "trigger bs" people. This song just tears me up. That, and a James Taylor tune, fire and rain, you know. Then bad stuff happens, and you latch onto these types of songs even more. They burn into your brain.
Glad that you’re connecting with the music and thanks for sharing. This one holds a special place in our hearts too
Saw them on St. Patrick's night in Portland
I was there
¡Padrísima rola!
