Agree that The Double is a very good drama, but I’m disappointed with the ending which leaves the viewers trying to interpret whether ML was killed in the war or he did return ( the person’s face was not shown on the horse back). Also why did the director kill off the 2 body guards.

Blossoms in adversity! Definitely the best of 2024, so amazing, so mesmerizing and so human, and my second one fav is The double, is dark but is so interesting and amazing too, a perfect combo of romance and mystery.
The Double is amazing! Wu Jinyan and Wang Xinyue were brilliant in their roles and had insane chemistry. It had a great ensemble cast and beautiful music as well! Didn’t expect anything coming in as I didn’t know any of the actors prior to this and had no idea about the plot. Thank God for the Youku ad. I was hooked from start to finish and didn’t even think of skipping anything. Now on my 2nd run of the series in Netflix. This is the first time I’m completely rewatching a Cdrama. It’s that good imo.

'Lost you forever' is a good drama, only available in Netflix and VIU. Actor Yu He Wei in City of City also acted 3 years ago , in the Drug Hunter, a high tension drama , exciting, must watch. The drama 'Princess Agent' by Zhao Li ying and Lin Gen Shen is fantastic.
Legend of Shenli is one of the masterpiece kind. Many good movies but none is made as comprehensive and beautiful as Legend of Shenli from every single aspect of a drama and production

Legend of Shenli & The Double. Personally prefer Shenli over Double coz the latter is a bit heavy for me. For those who likes lots of plotting/politics The Double is not to be miss.
Watched almost all except Blossoms Shanghai which is still not subtitled for international audiences. But dropped In Blossom. Blossoms in Adversity 😇was nice, warts and all, I liked both leads already so came with a positive bias and liked the pacing. War of Faith 🔥🔥🔥🎆 was phenomenal, I raved about it on some forums. Wang Yibo should have won an award. I like Li Qin so there was that too The Double ⚔ 💀🏃 was so-so, and Joy of Life 2 had a long disappointing part. But the MLs were poster handsome , esp. Wang Xingyue (the Duke). I liked Zhang Ruoyun already as Fan XIan in JoL1. Within xianxia genre, I liked The Legend of Shen Li 😊😊😊, which showed another side of Lin Gengxin's acting as jaded god wishing to quit his job (!) and just spend life as a mortal, fishing and sitting in good company, and very sweet interaction with "cluck-cluck 🐔" superstar Zhao Liying 🤗 turning into warrior goddess phoenix. I liked Lin Gengxin 🥰too in his next, difficult, role in "The Tale of Rose", as controlling husband of Rosie, played by another superstar (Crystal Liu/Liu Yifei 😍). Bah, I'm probably a fan of LGX : liked him in all the 6 dramas and Tiger mountain movie I've seen of his. He's got a wry humor and a very manly presence on screen, much different from most "little fresh meats" ; we might not see him again for a while, since he is embarking on a PhD class for the next 4 years, sigh. Within family drama genre, I really liked Best Choice Ever 😉, Yang Zi 😍was as expected, good, and the actress who played her over-the-top mom He Sai Fei 🤫, did an excellent job. I was amused by Xu Kai 😍in his not too flamboyant role, but showing off a very nice Richard Mille wristwatch that is his own treasure. (He shows off at least 2 more of his in currently airing sweet business romance As Beautiful as You, where he is paired with delightful Seven Tan, so sparks are really flying there. Despite there are some surface similarities between the two roles in BCE and ABAY, it does not feel repetitious to follow XK into his new role -- much better than Sword and Fairy, where he could not save the show from Esther, for me - except Fairy and Devil, I just can't watch her, she grates on my nerves much more than Ju Jingyi, whom I did not mind in some, a bit nonsensical, costume dramas that are not ranked as masterpieces : Rebirth for You, Sword and Fairy 4 - I watched the latter mostly because of Chen Zheyuan so the billing dispute made me look at JJY/Kiku with less favor, next.). I put City of the Ciy and Always on the move, on hold but they looked interesting so perhaps I'll catch up later. Among the 2024 shows that I also watched were two Chen Xingxu 😄ones (My Boss, funny; and Our Interpreter, with many boring parts and overreaching "poetry" intros), and two Lin Yi 😃dramas (I did not care much for the romance Everybody Loves Me - well not me, Zhou Ye 😟can't win me over before she quits her nasty habit of talking with food dangling from mouth ; but I admired Lin Yi in the difficult star-crossed role in Angels Fall Sometimes). Now, I struggle a bit with Lost You Forever 2 despite I very much like Tan Jianci 🥰and Yang Zi 😍 ; also had trouble finishing the convoluted Royal Princess. I probably spend too much time watching c-dramas !
