Inside IAF’s Software Development Institute |

Set up in 1992 and located in Bengaluru, the Software Development Institute of the Indian Air Force is considered a force behind the fire power.
Its primary job is to develop software for all aviation platforms that the IAF inducts and upgrades from tome to time.
"We make software that makes weapon systems go where they are supposed to go; we make software that makes life easy for the person sitting in the cockpit, and ensures objectives of the mission are completely met," says Air Vice Marshal KN Santosh, Commandant of the institute.
Co-located with ASTE, the SDI has made some impossibles possible. For instance, integrating French missiles with Russian platforms, saving the exchequer millions of dollars.
