- In this episode, we travel in our converted Ford Transit campervan, with our dog, to Maryborough, Victoria, Australia. We camped at the pet-friendly Maryborough Caravan Park, which I show you around in this episode.
In the episode, I show you how to make lasagne soup in a slow cooker for the next time you go camping. This recipe can also be done in a campervan.

In the heart of the Victorian Goldfields region, Maryborough boasts grand gold rush architecture, lush gardens, antiques, art galleries, and a growing food and wine scene. The town has many heritage buildings, including the Court House, Town Hall, Post Office and Old Fire Station, which display the fine workmanship of a bygone era.
Whilst in town we visited the Central Goldfields Art Gallery. The Gallery features regularly changing exhibitions, including works from the permanent collection, curated exhibitions, and touring exhibitions. The Gallery is open Thursday to Sunday, 10am-4pm. Free entry.
We enjoy part-time van life, creating weekly episodes that are live at 5pm (AEST) Sundays, and sharing our experiences on our travels with our cavoodle, Twyla. In our episodes we stay at free and paid campsites, showing our tips and tricks on how to make life on the road easier and fun. Come join us on our adventures! Oh, you missed Parkview bakery…my favourite in town. Come back again sometime and pop out to Carisbrook, a cute little village 7 km from Maryborough. I’ll let the Art Gallery know about how it stars in your video and maybe you’ll get some more subscribers. Maryborough folk love their caravanning and camping.

Yes, definitely related! Carisbrook doesn't have a lot but it is quiet and the walk by the creek is lovely. We have a bakery, a great pub and an old gaol. Let me know if you need a tour guide! 😂@@kingdeanoadventures
If you’re back in Maryborough again, head down to Parkview Bakery. It’s down past Woolies. So happy your Burgz review is good. I’ll share your video with the owners as will definitely make them happy.
We definitely wanted to go to that bakery, but unfortunately they were closed 😞 but if you’re in town again, will definitely give it ago. We love our bakeries. +1 for the Parkview. Best pies in town the last time I went there (admittedly a few years ago as I’m no longer in Victoria). Bumpas across from Princes Park also used to be good, although never had a pie from there after the Raeburns sold it. Red House is reasonable, but basic. Tried Class Kitchen when they originally opened and didn’t think much of them, but apparently it’s changed owners since and vastly improved. Sundays are a day where pretty much every bakery in Maryborough is shut, and Saturdays when they are open they usually close by 3pm. Majorca Road shop does sell Red House Bakery pies, so is a way to try theirs. Top Shop in Clunes also sells them.

Hope you enjoyed visiting our 'Big Town' as Mark Twain described 'A Station with a town attached'. The Bull and Mouth hotel is an icon in our region. Love doing my errands in Maryborough and taking in all the amazing architecture. Thanks for the tour again, some places I haven't visited myself. Great to see the town through others eyes.

Another great video guys. We will definitely be visiting Maryborough next time we're down south. May I ask. You seem to always use the butane gas cannisters in the cold weather. We have so much trouble using ours in the cold weather when we are down south. What is your secret? Thanks again. 😊

I don’t know if you covered the back story to the grand Maryborough station , but I believe it was supposed to be built somewhere else,and was built in the wrong town, not sure where it was supposed to be built ? , did you visit the teddy bear museum, otherwise a great vlog , cheers from Downunder ❤️🦘🦘🦘
Hi Steven, thanks for your message. We didn't learn of its more thorough back story to later, after editing. Re the Teddy Bear Museum, no we didn't see that, unfortunately. It is interesting how many small (and not so small) towns have so many stories and interesting facts. Glad you enjoyed what we put up. Adam
The myth you’re referring to states it was meant to be built in Maryborough in Queensland. It in in fact, just a myth. The train station was built during the height of the gold rush, and the height of wealth in the area.
Does the tower still smell like pee? All the ratbags hang around there at night... or they used to when I was a kid. The Highland Bistro is pretty good. I still have relatives at Maryborough so every year I visit around November/December 😅
Hi MMG, luckily for us, as it was a bit windy. that day it was ok. I could see it as a hangout place as no-body would be around. It'll be a nice town in summer as you walk around to everything. Deano
@@kingdeanoadventuresit does depend on the way the wind’s blowing. Some days you won’t smell it, but others you’ll smell nothing but it. Would heavily advise against going anywhere near the place of a summer’s night as that’s when the smell’s at its worst.
