I see Lewis Black, I click. I see Roy Wood Jr, I click. I see both Lewis AND Roy, I click so fast, my finger time travels.
❤❤❣
Fabulous description of what I do; and in this particular vid, Roy looks so happy it reminds me he's way too young for me. ;)
Which way? 😜

Roy Wood Jr Jr and Lewis Black!
That is a must see episode of Finding Your Roots. This episode of Beyond the Scenes is perfect. Thank you both!
a chalupa in a snow globe! hahaha love Lewis Black and his anger facts!!
Roy is another master comedian.
Lewis is sharp, and his humor is insightful, and intellectual. I love you Lewis..
I saw Lewis in Atlanta in ‘98 and as great as he is on the Daily Show, his stand-up is phenomenal… when has more time to develop his bits then television allows, he’s a master
I agree, but... it's "than" time allows, not "then" time allows. Not meaning to be mean, or hostile, or insulting, just helping out. They're very similar words, nearly homophones, so the mistake is understandable, but fixable.
"Do you stub your toe and then start writing?" That's the genius of Roy Wood Jr. trying to understand the method behind the genius of Lewis Black 🤣🤣🤣
I was drinking tea when he said that and laughed and had to fight to not to have that tea visit my computer screen
Lewis Black is an absolute American legend. Thank you Mr Black for you telling it how it is. 🤘
I remember Lewis Black's self-sanitized HBO special when he did a stand-up act in LA during the 1990s. The "cantankerous guy" act fit him like a glove, and it only got better as he aged because Lewis Black shouting at the clouds is always funny.
Yelling at pigeons works pretty well , too
Yes, he has always been great at what he does!
@@whazzat8015 LOL and cats. (Never dogs, they take you too seriously!)
Lewis black and George Carlin rants are always on the up and up.
Oh George he was the best miss him and his seven famous words
@@kathrynmickelson1091 I love his 7 words, and a few other of his lines, but for flat-out rants, I've always thought that Lewis Black does it better. _~shrug~_
@@MaryAnnNytowl You are right about his rants nobody rants like Louis Black👍
When my cup runs dry, when I weep with despair, Lewis Black makes me snort with laughter. Somehow, improbably, satiric humor makes life bearable.
I LOVE lewis black. I’ve heard and watched all of his comedy specials.
You should check out his podcast!
@@cheshirecat6518 i didn’t even know he had one. Thanks i will look it up 🙏👍
@@cheshirecat6518 Lewis read one of my rants once and it was a whole new concept of therapy for me. 🤩
@@kflo8634 I bet that was really cool! Got a link to share with it being done?
Yes, he is excellent!
Just great. Thanks much for this conversation - Roy is a consummate interviewer.
Lewis Black is my favorite comedian, precisely because he’s so funny when he’s angry. Those forefingers get going and I just cry laughing. Thanks for the interview Roy!!
Lewis Black has been hysterically funny for decades. Loved this.
Perfect choice to play the voice of anger in Pixar’s Inside Out.
I agree.
@@caru3257 👍🏻
Yesssss 🥰
Love Roy Wood and am always delighted to see him, especially interviewing.
Whoa. I forgot Lewis Black was part of the Daily Show since Craig Kilborn days. I love the black laptop in his bit. Most were a beige color around that time. Thanks for decades of rants Mr. Black.
Roy! His fans are smart, savvy, well informed, & emotionally healthy!
Awesome talk. Lewis is a legend!
I really appreciated this sincere segment.
Roy, I gotta tell you that I really enjoy these longer conversations you've having. You and I are the same age and growing up all the comedians and interesting people were much older and felt far away. Now it's really interesting to get the perspective of established comedians who grew up at the same time as me.
As a fellow southern boy one of the funniest things you've done was around this time of year when all the white women are going nuts over pumkin pie spice coffee you came up with sweet potato pie spice coffee. To a white boy who thinks soul food is the best that cracked me up!
Bravo Roy, keep 'em coming.
More Lewis Black!!!!🤗😄💖
Love, love, love Lewis Black!!! Back In Black.
Love Lewis Black!
Roy, I'm so glad you did this particular interview. I've always been a Lewis B. fan. I've never seen him live, but I know he's been underrated most of his career. I think he should have a longer segment on TDS, maybe once a week. I love him 'cause he's so real. Tku!
I dearly love the Beyond the Scenes with Roy Wood Jr.!!! This was super special because I revere and adore Lewis Black! When he talked about pundits, I immediately thought of his movie with Robin Williams, "Man of the Year" where he explains what's wrong with pundits being on news shows. It was brilliant and I still quote it constantly. 🤗❤
Daily Show needs MORE LEWIS!
Thank you Lewis...Roy! This was a most excellent interview.
Trev you're cool and all but ROYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE THIS. 40 mins of Roy Wood Jr. and Lewis Black is what I needed today.
Great comedians, great talk!
It's so cool to see these highly skilled comedians speak seriously about their trade and about the topics they lampoon.
Very true. Really enjoyable! 😊
Fabulous interview of two masters of comic anger. Very thoughtful and engaging.
Roy Absolutely Love, love the interview. Roy and CC keep doing what you’re doing.
Thank you, Roy! My Dad (when he was alive) loved Lewis Black and I still do! I love your podcast, but this one has to be my absolute favorite!
Love both of these men...smart..smart...and funny 100%
Wow, I'm really appreciating this podcast.
Awesome interview between 2 of the best, and from different generations.
Lewis always makes me feel better - much love
Great interview Roy. Lewis is an amazing comedian. Thanks 👍🏾
The philosophy of the rich and the poor is this: the rich invest their money and spend what is left. The poor spend their money and invest what is left"
How many millionaires do you know who have become wealthy by investing in savings account? I rest my case.
Investing in today is priceless because tomorrow isn't promised, trading Bitcoins, gold, silver and crypto secure a better Tomorrow.
It's not how much money you keep, but how much money you make, how hard it works for you and how many generations you keep it for.
Interesting, most people don't understand the market moves and tend to be mislead in facts like this and always depend on Money in the Bank very bad idea .
I understand the fact that tomorrow isn't promised to anyone, but investing today is a hardthing to do because I have no idea of how and where to invest in?
What incredible speakers; I've quoted them countless times & they've help a lot of us look critically at politics rather than just ignoring it.
I really appreciate these interviews. Roy is so great at this. He's a generous host, perfect for these longer conversations. Love love love that Lewis Black!!
I agree. I love themboth.
You said it better than I could. 👍🏾
@@kRis-rn6so you said exactly what I was going to say. That G.B. said exactly what I was going to say.... Woah... That's a mind f. 😆💖👏
Roy is great at this, at least in this instance (him and Trevor have had their moments, but that's largely scripted) And as raw as Lewis can be, he's one of the most sensible, sensitive men. When Roy smiles the way he's doing when Lewis talks, he looks like a kid! LOL This interview is a keeper.
Amen & AMEN!
The first day I had obtained cable for myself, was the first show Jon hosted.
I love Lewis Black, I've been watching him on The Daily Show since it started! It was something my dad and I used to watch together and bond over, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert! So thanks for having him on Roy, this was a great episode of Beyond the Scenes! 😁
This series is great, thanks
It was definitely nice hearing about him cuz I definitely didn't know that much about him. Very eye-opening
Love Lewis Black and his rants
This was excellent! Two very smart and funny men who know their craft! Be Blessed guys as you go on and on and on.......♥️♥️
❤❤❣ Afreakingmen!
Beautiful. Thank you for this 😃
Speaking of O.G.'s. it's got to be Roy. Yes, Roy...of all US comedians he's the one who got to the bottom of all bottoms when it comes to defining USA:
"stolen land with stolen people and a stolen national anthem"😃
Luvya Roy!! 👏👏
Afreakingmen!
Hear, hear.
FR! That shook me to my core! #truth
My respect to Mr. Black. Warm regards from Texas!
And my affection and respect to Mr. Wood.
I'm a big fan of you both.
Two of my fave comedic minds... this was delightful. Thanks boys :)
I would like to take a moment, in the midst of watching this video, to say how much I enjoy these “Beyond the Scenes” segments. I appreciate how candid they are. I appreciate that they tackle important issues that should be discussed in more depth. Finally, I appreciate how thoughtful Roy’s questions are, and how respectful the whole conversation is. I have always enjoyed Roy’s humor, but he is an excellent interviewer, and this format has been stellar, despite the limitations with the pandemic. Bravo.
Roy this was Great. I am so looking forward to the proposed next segment with LB. Love to hear Roy's views.
I really, REALLY hope someone up top is paying attention to what they’ve got with Roy Wood Jr. These segments are wonderful.
Amen!!
I love this segment with Roy.
Lewis Blacks opinion on candy corn, is legendary.
This is the first one where I really wish they just kept going! Forget the one hour cut off just keep going!!! That's supposed to be the point of podcasts anyway the whole idea that you have almost an open ended forum to play with
Oh, absolutely! I could listen to these two for hours, and love every minute of it!
I totally agree with you Veronica ❣️ This was just way to short. We need a follow up ASAP!
I love these guys together
I truely enjoy these behind the scene segments.
Roy, you the best host for this podcast.
I miss watching this guy. Mr. Black is so funny.
He has his own podcast, and I believe he may be on tour at this time...
Two awesome gentlemen.
So weird and nice to see Lewis smile and laugh. Great discussion!
Great interview artist to artist with two brilliant and articulate performers.
Loved the NY is not Texas rant...priceless 💕
Rules of Enragement is one of my favorite comedy albums ever.
This is my favorite UA-cam podcast to date!
awesome interview Roy.. love Lewis
This gentlemen is really fun!
Goat on Goat interview 🔥💯👌
The way Roy describes his on-stage comedy style is basically how I've been communicating with others for decades, lol.
Love this guy. And also this podcast
At the end of the day, I'd like to think that Lewis seems like a really nice guy.
read his book ✌💖🎼
dont
think.😉
Someone who loves and honours his parents as much as he does, for sure he's a mensch! I'm proud he's a prominent member of the tribe! L'chaim! 🙌🏼
Terrific interview. Roy and Lewis are National Treasures. We should put them on the money
Lewis Black!! Adult humor, he is so searingly funny. Always listen in ... and Roy Wood and Ronnie Cheng are excellent as well. So interesting to see these funny men who are also mensches. Bring back Lewis more often. America needs him!
Paw Patrol ad popped up as soon as Roy mentioned Lewis as Anger in Pixar's Inside Out. lol
I love the term counter culture as it is in battle with cancel culture.
Anything is called out as cancel culture now. Granted you shouldn't drudge up a decade old social media post to have someone fired, but calling everything cancel culture is annoying. It's not cancel culture. You're just counter culture
The counter culture is far older than cancel culture. Abolitionists, Beatniks, feminists, all Civil Rights Activists have been countercultural.
We love you Lewis. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
legend of his region of comedy that was carved out by his own hands. Hard to replicate. I appreciated this interview and love these beyond the scenes. Keep diving in and never stop the discussion guys! Great Work!
I love this Podcast. Going into the heads of comedians...genius!
Love the grandpa guy!!!🤗💜💖
Best comedy professor!! "Brain casing of a doberman" BRILLIANT!! 🖖😊💜🐣🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Loved this whole thing but especially the question and discussion about the difference between structured / well crafted comedy and just rage punditry. Important distinction that I think we’d all benefit from better understanding.
I have respect for Roy and Lewis... I am in love with Trevor 😍❤️!!!
He certainly is a well put together man, yes! Too young for this old bird, but I can certainly enjoy the view! 😉😄
Loving these segments!
This is the first time I've ever seen Lewis Black perform as a young man. Wow.
Another great interview!
You know Lewis Black is effective because I keep pre-emptively flinching thinking he's going to yell at Roy.
Great work , THANKS Roy
LEWIS BLACK IS GREATNESS
Literally this was on my wish list! Did not disappoint!
Living legend
I get MY news from “The Daily Show” I admit it!!!🤷🏽♂️
Mr.Lewis Black keep being you.
The voices of wisdom on both sides 💜 well don sirs 🌀✨✨✨🌀
Lewis is a comedic genius
I live in Costa Rica a lot of the time but I will be near Detroit in April and want to see Lewis there. I love his type of humor
Roy and Lewis were in the same episode of "Finding Your Roots"
Man, I just adore Lew! He's my spiritual rabbi.
Well done (understated)
