  • While we lost a few opportunities to get to the races with meeting at Melton, Charlton and Geelong called off owing to a COVID-19 scare midweek, Emma still managed to find her way in the winners’ stall.
    They included a double at Maryborough and then having Nikki Louise stretching her unbeaten Victorian run to four.
    It was also exciting to be part of Kate Gath’s stunning night in Ballarat on Saturday when she drove five winners.
    Well done Kate.
    WEEK IN REVIEW
    1st No Glitz No Glory (Bailey McDonough): Red House Bakery (mares) Pace, 2190m (2:1), at Maryborough on Monday, August 9. This gives the 4yo two wins from two starts. Congratulations again to the Kiel family.
    1st Hes Ideal (Bailey McDonough): Vale Robert Burke Pace, 2190m (1:58.7), at Maryborough on Monday, August 9. It was the 4yo’s first race start since winning at Kilmore in September last year. This gives him four win in just five race starts. Yet another from Peter Gleeson breeding barn.
    1st Nikki Louise (Kate Gath): Del Re National Melton Mares Championship, 2200m (1:55.1), at Ballarat on Saturday, August 14. She found the lead and just keep running. She’s had four starts since arriving from WA for as many wins. Congratulations to Summit Bloodstock and WA horseman Michael Young.
