This is one of the saddest, and most tragic stories I've ever seen. Such a beautiful, loving family with which not a one of them deserved to die. At least they all went to Heaven together.
Yes, saints in heaven.....the 7 in the family, the 4 servants, ,& Nagorny the sailor who was murdered 2 weeks earlier for defending the Czarevich. The 12 ( like the apostles) are all in heaven. I hope, when I go, I am able to meet them there. The family was so beautiful. The Czar looks the same throughout, but the Czarevna aged a great deal in her last few years. I think almost losing her son at Spala took such a toll on her. He didn't recover well after that( he was carried for Tercentennary celebrations)....then the war.....then the revolution & captivity.That wonderful, loving woman truly suffered thoes final 6 years. As they are saints in heaven, I ask their intersession.

Alix really was incredibly beautiful wasn't she? Her son't illness in later years just overwhelmed her as time passed I guess and it showed in her face. But as a young princess she was just breathtaking. Her personality though wasn't made for the life she married into.

Does anyone know where I can find some list, about the people who left Russia at that year? I know they boarded an Italian ship, and acquired Portuguese citizenship.

There was virtually no hope of escape for the Romanovs as they were transferred out of Trsarkoe Salo to the Ipatiev House at Ekaterinburg.And it was the Ipatieve House that the entire Romanovs were being whipped out in the wee hours of 17 July 1918.
