I've been there last year and oh my god, the power of that Top Spin is like a bomb. Even if you are just standing up on those hills around it and watching the ride, you feel the heat of the flames on your skin and you feel the ground vibrating when the gondola swings out to the ground. Also it's pretty interesting that you can see the pneumatics on both arms of the Top Spin.

Canada's Wonderland, my local park, has a Mondial built variation of this ride called Cliffhanger.... well, I believe Riptide now one Cedar Fair bought them and former owners, Paramount, naturally revoked all movie naming rights under their ownership... they only ever teased the splashdown on recent rides, but, in the early days when crowd were low, the operators would love playing with riders and getting them soaked, not to mention doubling, sometimes tripling, the ride time into multiple runs on a single embark....ahh, the good ol days. That said, I am always choose a tracked roller coaster over these stationary flat ride, as while a lot of them are fun (and not as economical as one might think), roller coasters are my first love, and if an Arrow double loop/cork that barely topped 100ft could propel an enthusiast into decades long obsession (more fitting), then I am always choosing them first.Flat rides make sense when you're trying to maximize space, inflate park stats and create a big new season splash (vs. nothing at all), they begin very redundant....this format, though....never gets old.....if you haven't tried one...do yourself a favour and try it..
Knotts had this ride without all this fancy scenery. So pissed when knotts removed theirs!!!
I went to Knott's when i was like 12, & only my brand new oldest step brother (18) was brave enough to go on Montezuma's Revenge with me 😂 the other 3 of my new siblings were far too scared. He became my favorite that day, & took me on that ride like 7 times lmao.
