Probably not, since anabolic muscle processes usually extend for about 48h afaik. Which means during rest day we're still building muscle. If we took a longer break, then probably caloric intake in general should go down, because we are spending less energy. Protein needs aren't gonna be as high but more protein helps in preventing muscle breakdown, according to Jeff's body recomp video. So I would say, in the case of a break, protein intake should be maintained but it's not as crucial. Let's see what Jeff says though.

I have to say that the format of you critiquing your character is refreshing. Hey Jeff, I think there's more educational value to be had from 'Bro Jeff' parody videos than you give it credit for. Yes, please more Bro Jeff! Not only is it entertaining and a change of pace, I know a lot of me and my bodybuilding friends still hold onto a lot of bro science we learned from first starting lifting. This honestly allows me to recognize and rid myself of pseudo-science in exchange for actual science.
I agree with this! I introduced my fiancee to your channel and the first video he watched was the bro Jeff one and he was really confused and didn't know why I showed him your channel LOL
One of the things I've learned in terms of the "eat big to get big" mentality is that it's better to exceed caloric surplus by more than 500 calories during a bulk. You WANT to gain a little bit of fat. Yes, most people want to build a body that is lean, but that extra bit of weight/fat helps you lift heavier weights and provide more of a cushion to your lifts - end result being, you get to place more stress on the muscle than you would if you were 5-10 lbs leaner.
In my case eating big to get big its not the case. It all depends of body type and metabolism. I quit on those myths long time ago. Yes it will help a lot if you have shit genetics. In my case I never eat more than my calorie intake and i still bulk up like crazy.
I’d have to agree with everyone else that Bro Jeff needs a defining attitude/tone. It’s fun to watch, but I enjoyed this video a lot more. However, I don’t think Bro Jeff has to be a monthly video you upload because I value the work you put into your channel and I wouldn’t want it to stain your reputation. Keep up the awesome videos, I can’t describe how great it is that you do all the legwork of finding scholarly sources in a subject where people tend to make up their own claims.

Been following one of your programs but my results seem slim. Maybe my expectations are set incorrectly. Love your content. Thanks.
I'm 6'1"and 170. I have the same problem. Long limbs and a small amount of muscle. I've done very focused and consistent training for 6 months, focusing on form and increasing weight in the gym and eating high quality meals to total 3500 calories per day. Barely anything gained. I did look slightly better and was stronger but tbh the huge commitment for mediocre results wasn't worth it at all.
@@niallms83have you tried eating more ? Like 4000cal ? Also, 6 months of training is not a lot. You probably want to play this game for life, so what's 6 months over 40 years
@@max12244 Agree 6 months isn't a lot, but I was hoping for these noob gains that people rave about. Didn't get much to show for the effort. Spent most of my life cooking and eating. Just wasn't worth it. 4000 calories is tough to get down tbh but I guess I could give it a crack.

Just a note; the protein RDA is not meant for weightlifters. It's basically how much protein average people need to maintain essential bodily functions. And muscle building is not an essential function.

Told my friend that Jeff Nippard is the most scientific fitness youtuber and I showed them this video. Now he's commentating himself playing a character as a gym bro.
I really like the bro Jeff. It's more of a dialog (or two monologues lol) so it helps to fill out not only good advice, but how someone could be mistaken.
That old guy in the egg isle is like "I'll have what he's having."
I just started. Bro Jeff helps cause he says what new ppl like me have heard before but didn’t know the validity of.
Next video have Bro Jeff’s respond to this video. Let him debunk your science with his 🤣
Bro Jeff is fun, one can almost not follow his advice. Keep him around
His body says "She calls me daddy too"
But his voice sounds like someone in a meme making a crappy impression of ben shapiro
