Great video! I have a spot for these cars for some reason, especially the pre 78 small window cars, so it's nice to see someone else who appreciates them. I really like this particular car, but I'm not sure if it really fits the "resto mod" theme. Yes, it's being restored to non-original specs, but I don't think that in itself qualifies as resto mod. The fact that he's using a motor older than the car itself is pretty counter to the resto mod recipe. While the SBC is a great motor, it's low tech and what was available in the original car. And those "high flow Z/28 heads" were probably great in the day, but they are far behind a good set of aftermarket aluminum heads (as well as being designed for a 302cid engine, so I wonder how well they flow on a 350inch. I know for a fact 305 heads are a power killer on a 350 - smaller valves and combustion chambers). He's also running old style wheels, and there's no mention of big brakes. I think a correct "restomod" would be if he was running a LS motor (or at least an EFI setup on his SBC), big brakes with at least 17" wheels, and some suspension mods. Just my .02. The C3 Corvette is a beautiful car, probably the quintessential Corvette. I love the C1 also. Would love to see a modern car that looks like a late C1.

I have a 75 Vette with a full Ecklers wide body kit. I don't care what any hater has to say. I love it and I'll even smile and wave when that 454 opens up as I pass by.
Being born in 1980, my parents brought me home from the hospital in my Dad's 79 Corvette. Can you imagine a new mother today just putting her newborn in her lap of a two seater for the ride home? Dad always had Vettes when I was a kid. I used to ride in the back of there. How safe. I made it! I totally forgot about that lock cylinder for the alarm on the fender! God, I remember how scorching hot those mf door handles would be in the sun! I love how the Miata RF has that buttress like this C3, and MR2.
"How good can we make this car without anyone noticing?" This is the exact approach I have taken in restomodding my 1963 Studebaker Avanti. Everything I have done is reversible, and the car could be restored to 100% stock appearance without difficulty, but the upgrades make for a car that's a lot more pleasant to drive, and which performs better. My one mod that violates this rule is the addition of 3 point seatbelts in front, and replacement of the factory low-back sears with Recaro seats harvested from a parted-out early 1980s Avanti II (they were an option offered by Avanti motors, and have the same rails underneath, so no need to modify the car for them). These seats are a lot more comfortable, have a greater range of adjustment, and a headrest for better safety in a rear end collision. And I still have the original seats stored away.
On the trans am though we have the 2 nostrils between the hood & bumper up front. The ws6 has that PLUS the ram air. Don't get me wrong I'm an f body guy here too!
+chaas1996 Those nostrils are for looks only, they don't go anywhere. I have one of these cars, you pop the hood and there's no openings behind them. They're bottom breathers. The 3rd gens were the same way (I had an 88 GTA).
I’m restomodding both my C3s! Similar to this, Except I got an original looking radio with Bluetooth. Converting the inside of one of them from beige to black, already painted all the plastic parts black, they look good. He did a great job!

I have tried to get his attention but he never messages me :( He would be able to have a blast and won't have to worry about breaking anything.
I hope he does. Have you tried emailing him?
No i haven't lol how do you find his email address?? Thank you for the idea!
The C3 Corvette is a beautiful car, probably the quintessential Corvette. I love the C1 also. Would love to see a modern car that looks like a late C1.
Those headlights!
My dad has a '79 in green. Automatic, functional side pipes, T-tops, 350 (I think) under the hood. Wonderful for cruising around Louisville on a summer evening.
Awesome love C3s my family had two
few things, I love how you touched on the average "point a to point b" driver. cars are more than. appliances, they deserve love. Also Roman needs a mixtape. I bet it would be fire
2:27 Wow I am looking for a red interior. My black interior is too HOT 🔥. Would have swapped.
I concur with the door handles. In Australia on a sunny day, those things get red hot and you will burn your fingers.
You should do a Mustang II review
I have a 75 Vette with a full Ecklers wide body kit. I don't care what any hater has to say. I love it and I'll even smile and wave when that 454 opens up as I pass by.
The Rat- Eater?
The RAD-iator helps keep the engine COOL.
Jared Fogle and Adam Corolla do a car review...
I'll bet Neal never gasses up in Jersey.
Love your non-sequitirs and random cut-aways!
The door handles on my dad's 77 vette didn't seem as bad as you're portraying. Seems like a giant over exaggeration.
+Straight Six Real men aren't worried about fingering the door to get it open.
Its not that bad on my C3... Admittedly they're a bit annoying but its unique.
I'm sure he had after market springs put in. Most older corvettes that haven't had them replaced will sag.
love how clean the underside is, Neal is the man
stopped playing fallout 4 to watch this
"How good can we make a car without anyone noticing." is the best definition of restomod I've heard yet.
Also, 'like' for 'my car is a middle finger'
BURNOUT BUTTON!!!¡¡¡
The Roman sure knows how to rhyme. keep the song parodies coming they're just so awesome
4th gen camaro/firebirds have the same air dam setup
ewww f bodys
+Wesley Green also has lazy eyes syndrome like 4th gen firebirds... know that one from experience.
3rd gen F-bodies do too
I’m restomodding both my C3s! Similar to this, Except I got an original looking radio with Bluetooth. Converting the inside of one of them from beige to black, already painted all the plastic parts black, they look good. He did a great job!
Good God I love metal flake paint.
This channel gives me a reason to be awake on Monday.
800-588-2300 EMPIRE! or 800-588-2300 EMPIRE, today...
yitboy11 I heard this as I read it......
I can see the commercial playing in my mind
I remember when i was younger and we had a 1972 C3 and while mom and dad sat in the front seats, i was hiding in the back. That place is cramped!

You guys make me want to resto-mod my 1993 Taurus...
And more raps please! Awesome stuff.
I'd pay to see the roman performing live
Just discovered your channel. It's AWESOME! Love the narration!
