This song will always remind me of a girl I met one summer before I had to go home. The morning after saying goodbye to her, I was on the way to the airport and this came on the radio. We wrote back and forth for a year before losing touch. I found her on Facebook 28 years later. She's married with three kids and I'm married with two.

This is the song that was playing on the radio the moment our son was born. We took him to see Richard Marx in concert and he was waiting for his birth song all through, but he said goodnight without singing it and left the stage. My son was almost in tears, but I said to wait for the encore and Richard came back out and sang it! It really was a special moment for us all.

The song had just came out and she said excitingly “Tom you have to hear Marx’s new song. It’s us”. All these years later she was so right. Not sure what happened to her, but I hope she thinks of me and that innocent time in our lives. Great song.
