I suspect Rowling just didn't want to be too predictable by putting Harry and Hermoine together. If she did then how much of a love story would have displaced the primary and would the love story have suffered if she didn't focus on it. I was not a Ron fan either, in the films it just came out of nowhere to put them together. I will say I did love the scene with the horcrux where his worst fears are shown, Harry and Hermoine together, and he overcomes it. You said you kept the purple dress because of one compliment, and I see christyc just gave one too, so will you be keeping it for another week per compliment? Perhaps a non-shiny purple dress?
I'm glad i'm not alone in this, with regard to the HP movies. In the books, Ron is very knowledgeable and clever. He's just a bit lazy. But so is Harry. And Hermoine has read a LOT of books but is still dumb. The movies gave all Rons finest moments to Hermoine. Although, I think its kinds weird that they all married their friends from high school. - And the Disco Dresses is amazing, and I will be sad to see it go... but the disco remains in our hearts 🕺🕺
