One of my new neighbors is from California. The other is from Texas. Both talked about affordability
Makes sense. We get a lot of calls from people moving from those states!
I am literally moving back to be close to family as well.
Welcome back to Michigan. If we can be of any help, please don’t hesitate to reach out or schedule a zoom call with us!
This is good news. Thanks!
You're welcome, Diane! Thanks for watching
We summer in Michigan from Texas. Once retired, we will most likely return and move to Michigan. The reason? Too damn hot here and Michigan winters seem (seems) to be less brutal as when I was a kid. The other reason: Property taxes, sales tax and home insurance are very expensive in Texas, don't get me started on utility cost. We can live quite comfortably in Michigan on a fixed income in retirement. Just our situation...
I love this!!
Thanks for the kind words!
Just moved to Michigan this month from Ohio. I'm an avid fisherman and outdoorsman thus far no regrets. Only have one question? What did you all do to the deer up here? I hit the trails daily and I must see 40+ daily and they just look up and look at me as I go by. Certainly a great state
Welcome! Deer are everywhere here, and come hunting season, game on for those hunters!
I had to laugh at @5:21.
I live in California and am planning to move back to Michigan AND Tampa FL.
The plan is to buy some land in Michigan maybe 5 acres and build the house (barn-dominium, really a shop-house) for the summer months and then have a small condo in the Tampa / Sarasota area for the winter months.
The reason to move back is to avoid the high taxes in California when I start a new business and to prepare for retirement.
Reach out when you’re ready, we’d love to help!
I’m planning to move my family there from Indiana in a few years when my step daughter graduates high school! We’re actually moving for the weather 😂 We prefer colder weather. Also for better education opportunities for my kids. The education system here in Indiana isn’t the greatest. It’s more attainable to move to Michigan rather than some of the other states with great education because it’s 7 hours away from Indiana and the cost of living is similar to Indiana.
Hey 👋. Thanks for sharing. Feel free to reach out, we’d love to help any way we can!
I think they are moving to comparatively cheap housing and availability of jobs in manufacturing field.
That is defiantly one of the reasons!
Rivian moved hundreds of people to California in the middle of the pandemic, with a number bailing and moving back. You are now seeing other startups (Lucid and VW's new Scout brand) building teams and Metro Detroit HQ's there to scale teams and have access to auto talent. That said, it's not very "cheap" anymore. The Birmingham and Bloomfield markets are pretty bonkers and McMansions are going into the multiple millions. Hard to justify for 130 days of sun.
I want to move to Michigan because of the better more affordable real estate prices and because it has some cold weather time...and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the cold!!.... but absolutely hate the HOT weather states, so I would never be moving to Florida or Texas, but I do so wish Florida and Texas where Northern cooler states, because I do like those states since the are red states and so much better on taxes and have better gun laws
If it’s cold you love, then you’ll love Michigan winters.
@@TRULIVINGMICHIGAN yup!!😁
Do you think more people are moving here since cannabis was legalized? I'd be interested in those stats.
Interesting thought...I have to assume it has brought some people here for that reason, but would be interested to know how many people that accounts for.
I'm leaving California because drugs are taking over. I'd like to have some land out in a rural area, but some places like Shasta Country California have the Mexican cartels moving in, building greenhouses, and watching/threatening people just driving down the road.
If you want to see what drugs do to a place go visit downtown San Francisco. Drugs have turned so many people into zombies.
@@alansnyder8448 there are drug issues everywhere in america especially small town areas. michigan isn't quite as bad as california and much cheaper
@up-uw4op You cant even compare California with Michigan. You don't have shit on california
@@up-uw4op I spend a lot of time in both places. It was out of control here. I was taking BART to work and sometimes there were more people on drugs in the car than people commuting to work. And this was on a totally safe line 7 or 8 years ago.
I'm comparing SF to Western Michigan here. San Francisco is heading to an awful place, All of the high-tech companies are leaving and homeless drug users who OD on Fentenyl and shit on the street are taking over. California has borrowed billions of dollars and now has a debt of $18,000 per tax payer. And the tax payers are leaving.
Got a bad feeling about the e-cars…. Going to be an up slog.
I want to move to MI but I don’t where to start

if you hate your life... and you enjoy being miserable... and you dont like seeing the sun.... then move to michigan

People relocate to Michigan all the time! Tons of job relos and people who moved out of state but always come back home to be close to family ❤️
haha when i saw this i laughed. I dont know anyone who wakes up and says lets move to michigan. All i know is ppl who cry about living here and do everything they can to leave. the place is a deathtrap.
Actually, that's probably true.
@@Jeff-ff1li I'm in California and looking to move to Michigan.
Too much selling!!!
