Fraser, sometimes when I'm busy in my garden, I stop and think "huh, that's cool, I wouldn't know about that if not for Fraser (et al)" about some science that you have brought to my attention, filling me with wonder. I hope that when you're out there managing your woodland, that you stop and think "huh, people love what I do, maybe they're listening right now". Because we are, and I want to say thank you.
Couldn't have said it better myself
Are we going to hug now? 😂
Bravo … well said 👍
Very happy to see Dr Kipping, mini interviews are great!
I'm so thrilled Kipping got his time on JWST to search for EXO moons! I've been thinking about EXO moons since I was a child. Which is over 5 decades
LOL, me too! Old as dirt, ain't we. 😂
I'm almost to my 5th decade.....lol...I almost break my neck....every night... looking up.... an wonder...!!!
I remember when we didn't even know that there were planets...let alone ones with moons around them ... around other stars... actually it doesn't seem so long ago.
I was 25 in 1995!
@@user-em5qh9he6e well since Io and Europa was discovered in 1610 ..
U sire seems remarkably well preserved 😁
I personally really enjoyed having our resident exomoon specialist drop in for a minute! I love that guy and all his cool worlds! I think we should have people over more often! I vote in favor of including mini-interviews…🤚🏾 It can make for a nice quick “state of the field” moment.
Especially for follow-ups. It’ll be brilliant to not only have your’s and your team’s comments on a topic but a snippet of the experts’ as well 👍🏼
Yes, Fraser. If you put these li'l interview-ettes into Space Bites, I'll still come back for yet another bowlful! Mahalo!
Hell yeah, My two favorite space guys. Fraser Cain and Dr. David Kipping!!!!!! Nice thanks Fraser.
Love the little interview updates, more please, keep em coming!
I hope chandra stays with us
Years ago a group of friends took up the challenge to reuse - repurpose an old defunct NASA satellite I think it was called - ISEE-3 Reboot Project
I'd say dump the ISS and keep Chandra
16:45ish... "we're over the moon." On purpose, or not? If so, well played! 😂😂😂😂 I hope Dr. Kipping finds the really cool things he's asking for, and a great 4 or 5 papers' worth of surprises!
Thanks, Fraser, for all you do!
Really like the mini-views popping up inside Space Bites! Gimmi more please!🤣 That was actually a great little morsel!
Your interviews (whether long or short) are gems full of information which feed my curiosity. I encourage you to indulge yourself as often as you wish. I'll be here as often as I can.
I love the little interviews amongst the bigger bits of news. I'd love to see more of that.
It's always a pleasure watching your videos. My lil one, Victoria is a huge Fan... participating, wen we can, in the live streams....is a high light of our week !!!
Dr David Kipping is always welcome. In all seriousness if you can get folks to chime in like this, that'd be fantastic. More people we can get visibility to the science that is actually happening now the better. Keep up this fantastic work and let people meet the great scientists making these new discoveries. Its not "Hollywood Now", its "Universe Today"
Dr. David is always an awesome Interview, no matter how brief
Interviews inside the larger program are very much appreciated.
I wouldn't frown at space bites becoming space chomps, as in, more interviews, more stories. It's just so good, and I consume so much news, it would be great to get more from you in any way you have time to do (at least).
Trains on the moon definitely need roller coaster style casters to lock them to the track as to not lose fiction over bump at high speed.
It should be maglev if it's a moon train! Prob not the most practical but would VERY cool!
Definitely could use a loop-de-loop or 2. For science, of course.
Thanks for the news, Fraser! 😊
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
David Kipping never fails to impress. Listening to his talks before, superb brain without the need for hyperbole.
The mini-interview was great - it creates continuity.
Excellent newsletter, Fraser. The brief interview with Dr. Kipping was just the right length and very informative. I'd love to see more like that.
I did enjoy the update with Dr. David Kipping. I watch a lot of the interviews you do on this channel, and I would definitely like to see more quick check-ins like this. This short interview format could also be a way to briefly let us meet scientists or other guests who don't have the time or inclination to do a long-form interview.
yes for interview segments !
@Fraser I really appreciated the mini interview! keep doing it!
Yes yes! I loved that little breif interview within space-bites. Hope you get the chance to do more of them. Thank you for all you do!
Great interview with Dr. Kipping! Yes, love the inside interviews!
Fraser, the mini inteviews with newsmakers is a great idea!
Yeah, love the mini interview update in space bites. Love the "Fraser Cain" effect too. Thank you Fraser and team :)
So happy for, Dr. Kipping! Loved the live update!
keep on keeping on, Fraser. It's very much appreciated.
I like interviews that you do with different scientists but these short interviews are great especially when we hear the news about their proposals, accomplishments or whatever before hearing the interview so I appreciate them in spacebites, however, it would be nice if the length of spacebites remained relatively short. Thanks Fraser.
So happy that your curiosity directs you to where you go. You help satisfy my curiosity. Keep it up.
Yes I loved that little interview with david kipping.
Also liked the "its happening now" from our reference frame rant. Well said!
👍
Another great Space Bites Fraser, great to hear from David Kipping following the news about his project for looking for an Exomoon. I think more of these 'mini' interviews are great, good for Space Bites, good for the Question show too - for pre submitted questions obviously.
the interview snippets are great - definitely worth keeping
Fraser, the inclusion of short bytes from longer interviews is great. Please include more.
Mini interviews are great, please keep them coming Fraser, great work, thanks
Absolutely love the variety in your videos also so very detailed and well put together thank you so much
We love you Fraserrrr!
Ah great! New stimulus for the animation industry!
What?
Yes - the mini interviews are great
big fan of the channel, and a big fan of coolworlds channel, and im soo excited for Dr. David Kipping
I thought the mini-update interview was a great idea. It adds to the sense of community with the researchers. I would encourage having more of these when they are available. Love... your...work!
Yep! I do like the snippets. Cheers & have a great weekend.
Do like the short interviews with scientists and investigators. Quite interesting.
Those things in the videos where you make a short interview is awesome!
Yes,the micro-interview updates are very cool
Liked the mini-interview
Yes, if possible and sensible, short interviews are great!
Yes! Mini interviews are very cool!!
I do like the little interviews!
Yes, I like the mini interview bit!
Yes! I liked the mini interview
On the note of impact craters there are volcanic ejecta rocks the size of a small house in New Zealand that started cooling in space before landing in wellington. They left the atmosphere just above lake Taupo 350-400 k's away previously the biggest volcano in New Zealand. Now a 60 mile round lake. The local lore has it that he was the oldest of four brothers and his siblings annoyed him till he blew his top and left.
yes please Fraser more interviews during space bites. thank you
Yes integrating interview tidbits is good.
The short interview/update was really cool. Didn't need all the background info, since we already have that in the big one
Definitely do mini-interviews! They could serve as a great teaser for people who missed the interview with the person in the past, so then they go back and listen to the full interview :)
I think one or two clips could add a new dynamic to your Q & A and I think that's good. Hope you get to do more of them in the future.
Yes, I enjoy interview bites, too!
22:24 It depends. Dr Kipping CAN talk, he is a great presenter of any topic. Some guests are slightly... different. (No doubt, they are all smart people. That was not the question here)
I end up not watching a lot of the interviews on this channel the whole way through. Find a lot of the guests difficult to listen to.
I love byte size update interviews. Moar! Please.
Yes liking the mini interviews in space bites!
Chandra’s CCDs are also having big problems, so it’s not just a thermal regulation issue
Right from the moment and source interviews are a great turn.
Great, keep up the interviews
22:25 yes I do love these little interview sections, you of all people could REALLY take advantage of that kind of addition to your space bites (or even the question shows).
As for the contents of the video, losing Chandra would be a complete travesty, the only solution is political pressure from space exploration and astronomy advocates. We have the IXPE telescope, run jointly with Italy I believe, and Europe has one as you mentioned, but IXPE is best used to ENHANCE Chandra data, because it gets polarization measurements that Chandra doesn't (it's a really recently launched X-ray telescope actually).
Next, I LOVE the Moon plans coming together. This feels *real* to me, I believe we're going to go to the Moon...to STAY!!! Hella exciting. Love the idea of exploring extreme Martian environments with a new heli, and congratulations to Dr. Kipping and his students again.
Thanks, F.C. !
Yes, mini interviews good.
The Fraser Cain bump. Well done.
Yes, little interviews are good, its all good!
fraser your channel is getting better lately. lots of interesting news
I liked the mini interview in this video.😊
Yes, these short updates/ news items are good
Yes I did like the shorter interview within the video. I would not oppose having more of that.
good work, as always
Yay to interviews.
love you fraser!
Likely a subway, since the dust is already problematic, I doubt the infrastructure will be all on surface.
Yes to mini interviews.
Supernova 1987a, Chandra's farewell, and JWST's hunt for exomoons? Talk about an astronomical triple treat! Can't wait.
Chandra has already lasted vastly beyond its intended lifespan and one of the consequences of cheap launches (falcon and starship) is that it's much easier to get funding to launch basic instruments which don't become "all eggs in one basket, everything but the kitchen sink" projects
Expect to see a "Super-JWST" and "Super-Chandra" (if not a small fleet of them) launched within the next 20 years
Can you start putting a space bites label in the title when there are space bites? It helps me to avoid having to constantly comb through your channel looking for space bites...Love Space bites, only segment that keeps me coming back ❤ Thanks
They have my face on the thumbnail.
@0:20 "One of the big things that we need that will enable everything is more infrastructure off Earth". Yay! Please attend the Interplanetary Infrastructure Session at the ISDC!
Growing up in the 60s they were talking about settlements on the Moon before man had put a foot on the surface there. The advances made in that decade just seemed to stop in the 70s and the world settled back down to it's own boring things. Now it seems that there is more interest in space probably driven by technology. In the past our advances in technology seemed to be through war, but now it is as if it is through peace and our desire for knowledge and exploration.
Yes the short interviews are good, and the long ones too, but the short ones within a spacebites is a good idea, but keep the long ones.
How about a show discussing the business arrangements and economics surrounding a large telescope such as Chandra. Seems to me there's a built-in instability if one party builds and operates it but allows basically anyone who's qualified to make use of it.
I do like the mini interviews within larger videos.
Little interviews == awesome
Mini interviews are good.
Especially with anyone with a cat.
Hey Fraser... Thanks for the response last week! I'm still debating between going for a CS masters or their new one in AI.
I have some AI courses from my last masters so leaning towards CS to be able to get my foot in the door in more places.
Do you think that is the wise decision? I can always take some more side classes in AI.
Couldn't Chandra be transferred to ESA or some other agency? It would be a real blow to lose all the valuable science it is still doing.
Thank the quantum fluctuation I checked my email account. I nearly missed this vlog. Am finding Cool Worlds just so interesting these days.
Thanks again Mr Cain.
The Mars info was a WOW
Space Bites interviews are great, but keep them short!
The shorter interviews are fine, I just like your stuff, it’s all good 👍
I love the idea of this international development on the moon
Short interview bits are fine. Ideally with good mic/equipment on their end if possible! If they're talking into a laptop mic, maybe keep it super short...? Just me and my tinitus' opinion.
Yes, short interviews ... and long interviews. Bring on the interviews.
Fraser I have a question. When galaxies collide do some solar systems, planets, stars get thrown out into space and become rogue? I'm asking because I was watching a super computer simulation of the milkey way and andromanda merging and several stars were flung out. Im assuming some of those stars had planets so could there be rogue solar systems out there?
Yes loved it.
