Happy you reviewed it. I am happy i graduated in the 80’s and went into Tacoma & Seattle to see these bands. 80’s bands like Tesla, whitesnake, Motley Crue, Poison, quiet riot and seen AC/DC 5 times and still listen .
CC Deville is an underrated guitarist. His solos invoke feeling and its a lost art these days. You should check out more Poison songs, their poster was on every teenage girls bedroom wall in the 80s.
I remember when this album came out, i BEGGED my parents to get it. The second my Dad saw the cover art he was like "Oh hell no!" I had to get my friend to make me a copy.
Bret Michaels got the inspiration for this song after calling home while on the road doing laundry and the other man either answered the phone or he could hear him in the background Ouch!
Got another 8o's power ballad for you, Angela. When Journey broke up Neil Schoen and Jonathan Cain joined together with John Waite, formerly of the Baby's, who also had a solo hit a few years earlier called, MISSING YOU, banded together in a group aptly known as Bad English. They produced this raging, passionate love song titled, FORGET ME NOT that soared as it left you grappling with gravity, while highlighting these great musicians. Check it out.
I have a suggestion for someone I recently discovered. She goes by the name, Snakecharmer. She's from India, living in Spain and plays a Scottish instrument(bagpipe). Her version of, "Amazing Grace" is incredible.
There is no instrument on earth that more perfectly describes how the heart feels in pain than the electric guitar! Each string wails out how the heart feels when love kisses with its brutal sting. For a couple others along this line I'd suggest Guns N Roses "November Rain" or Nazareth and "Love Hurts".
I'm going to have to disagree on a small point. She is one of the most beautiful women currently on the planet, bar none. I do agree that her hair is absolutely gorgeous, especially when it's done up in curls. But her smile and the way she lifts those beautiful slo eyes to the camera is going to be the utter and total undoing of some very fortunate young man!
I like u pay atenttion to the lyrics, and certainly power ballads have an amazing mix between soul guitar melody and the passion that a good ballad needs. I'd like to recommend u one of my favorites: Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad from Def Leppard. It's gorgeous. Regards.
@megaroli - I'm with you on this one. Never a fan, but this ain't bad... I'll keep it on my mental list in case I ever find myself in a social situation where I am forced to "pick my Poison" LOL
This is a very personal song about an ex-girlfriend of Bret Michaels (lead singer). She was unfaithful to him and she absolutely broke his heart. So he wrote this song about it. That's why he sounds so sad.
If the GREEN are your ear buds, what is the pink one stuck in your left ear? ? You listening to something else while you are listening to half this song? Either listen to it or don't
I never liked this band or any of their songs! Whenever this group may come up in conversation, I don't know why it would, it makes me think of that reality show the lead singer was involved in! They don't have that enigmatic element to move your heart and soul! Oh well!
When a song touches you that much, you know it's a truly great song!
This is one of the best Power Ballads in rock. The 1980's was a special time for music.
One of the best tunes of the 80's by far...

Hangin out in the park , with a six pack and my friends , music blasting . Great memories…….
"Something To Believe In" by Poison and "Quicksand Jesus" by Skid Row are also great songs🙂
I'm 52 now. The 80s were the best times to be a teen. Partying, falling in love and broken hearts. Poison rules!!!
Im 63 and loved the 80s music, great time to grow up

Last verse always kills me. Great song.

Every Rose Has Its Thorn
Just like every hair band has its ballad
Like every late 80's pop tune will make girls swoon
Every Rose Has Its Thorn
Didn't expect Anjela to have a thing for '80s and 90's rock. REALLY
Nice to see you enjoying music I grew up on 😎
You would love "Something To Believe In" as well. I always found Bret Michaels a likable guy, with the most gorgeous blue eyes ever!

No matter what your usual jam is, you can't not like this song! Probably my favorite guitar work from any rock ballad. C. C. rocks it on this one.

The Ballad of Jayne--L.A. Guns. You'll thank me later.
