For the red car situation, this is exactly why it’s smart to have a gun in the vehicle for self defense. It may never happen to you, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.

They definitely had time to make it in the house so we can just hope the house was either a little stronger than their garage/shed or whatever we see on camera or hope they had a basement/safe room but they 100% made it back inside the house

I have a similar story to the second dashcam video. Once I was driving home from a night out with the boys it must of been 2 in the a.m. the road was long, dark, and empty I can barely see anything passed in front of the headlights. But somehow manage to spot a red piece of clothing crossing along the road from one side to another. Driving closer I realised it was a person walking on the road. It was a lady walking and she reacted by shelling up behind her purse which was the red piece of clothing. Then I swerved to miss her, lucky I didn't lose control of my vehicle and stayed on the road. I never braked only took my foot off of the gas to decelerate and keep control. My windows were down to help me stay up and not fall asleep with the cold air on my face. I heard the screeching of my tires my heart was pounding. Then saw her in my rear view mirror walking off the side of the road. I also never stopped but she was fine since I swerved and saw her walked off the road, I wasn't sure if it was a crazy person, drugs, alcohol or a setup for a carjacking. I got home safe texted the boys "I'm home safe" I didn't told them what happened to keep them up worried about me. The next morning I called up my boys to let them know what happened to me on drive last night. They were happy to hear I made it back home safe then offered me next time spend the night at their house and not drive so late to prevent this from happening again. Drive safe guys.

If you are driving fast at night and someone or something appears in front of you like that second clip just hit the break don’t turn even if you hit it. Not worth the chance of going into traffic, flipping or hitting a tree or something else. Sucks to say but that individual shouldn’t be there and not much you can do besides brake the best you can.

one thing I will say. If you use a dash cam and record the whole time. Do not break any laws. Police can use you're own cams against you in court and seize you footage, and get you for even more possibly.
was wondering about that myself. would love to know how it would go in a situation like the red crysler carjacker because what if it was a choice between breaking a red light or stopping and ending up getting carjacked. surely it would be a reasonable excuse to break a red but idk
@Ryan-cl6yr so in a situation like that. You can still get a ticket. But more than likely, you won't. Just like if soemone hits your car, and runs. And you chase after him at 100 mph. The police can give you a ticket. The law is there, and broken for any reason you can be ticketed. But in drastic situations, they won't do anything. There is the letter of the law, and the spirit of the law. If that makes sense to you.
