Born and raised and still living in North East PA (33 years) and scrapple is definitely a thing up here. Every small diner has it and any butcher shop you go to you can get it. I absolutely love it so does my entire family
Live in the Wilkes-Barre Scranton area and scrapple definitely is not a big thing up here in northeast PA. Also I did grow up in North Jersey Hopatcong to be specific and it is Taylor ham.
Is the name of breakfast potatoes that you are thinking about are home fries? Nevermind, I only had to watch a minute longer to see that you figured it out.
I'm staying in Meadow Woods which is probably far from that location but I am looking for a good home breakfast I have to give that a try. All the really good breakfast restaurants in the Chicago area are Greek restaurants and they have amazing soup
I'm also from northern NJ so call it taylor ham. Also, I don't know who created some of the naming rules, but we had a few places around where I grew up in the 70s that had home fries, and they were the round slices, a bit less dry and crispy, instead a bit oily/moist and they had some peppers and onions in them.
#ToastIsTheDesertOfBreakfast #TOOOOOOAST That looks like a wonderful breakfast place. We love going to those kind of places not named IHOP(we oddly like going to IHOP during off hours for dinner or what not) and Denny's. Scrapple comes from Germany, and was actually first made by German Settlers when they came to PA, that's the origins anyway. Give me real pork sausage any day. Maybe someday they will make their way to Texas (only FL and TN so far it looks like). Glad you had a great breakfast with (most of) your family :)!
If you do not Adam the woo on UA-cam you have to he lives in Florida by Disney world and he is a big Movie fan and make videos on goes to places where movies were made and make a lot of videos on going to Disney world. I think you would like his videos and might like to meet Adam the woo at Disney world one day. His 2nd channel is videos of his day-to-day life and Disney world. ua-cam.com/users/thedailywoo Everything from abandoned theme parks to movie locations to wacky roadside attractions. ua-cam.com/users/adamthewoo
Talking a little bit too much you should just get to the point of why you're there and not talk about other things order foods and eat and then tell the people the experience and if it's worth going
But this video was about the link the restaurant has to Pennsylvania. The food was only secondary. So I was talking about exactly what I was supposed to be talking about. 🤷🏻
Lol , watch the cheesesteak just be like a t-bone with a slice of cheese😂 and yes Jim's steaks on South Street is the best. And they just reopened like a week or two ago. They had a bad fire like a year or two back.
If you not a fan of scrapple you won't be a huge fan of some dishes here in the uk like black pudding etc though lot of our ideas come from using everything because the war 😅 #hampork
I have learned from the Philly Captain... the Cheesesteak in Philly is all about the bread... there is something in water that makes the Philly bread better than average.
Eggy Bread? I mean… French Toast is kinda a dumb name too. But… Eggy Toast sounds like what a 3 year old would call it. Hahaha. But we do know how you Britts feel about the French. 🤣
If you are not going to have two main items from the State in question, then do not say it is a taste of......(fill in the blank).....my first thought was, I bet they have Scrapple.... but no.... then not a Pennsylvania breakfast....even I know that LOL
Hi I was a busser at this Keke’s, thanks so much for stopping by!
Max is basically the mini me version of Dani. Such a great kid.
Aw! Thank you so much 😊

I'm surprised Dave didn't order chicken fingers or a burger. :P lol
Not for breakfast
😂😂😂 he eats breakfast food
a burger for breakfast actually sounds good

Max is great!
He definitely is!

Love scrapple thin and crispy. For me, it’s Pork Roll and we had it this weekend. Yes, we cut around it so it lays flat.
I'm staying in Meadow Woods which is probably far from that location but I am looking for a good home breakfast I have to give that a try. All the really good breakfast restaurants in the Chicago area are Greek restaurants and they have amazing soup
Home Fries are what we call breakfast potatoes
never mind we call em the same thing
I ❤ scrapple! It definitely should be on that menu, my mother is from Wilkes-Barre and they eat scrapple up there. Pork roll is a Jersey thing.
I used to go see the minor league baseball team up there with my family 😊

Love scrapple, but it has to be thin and crisp. It's Taylor Pork Roll and the potatoes are called Home Fries, as you said.
I'm from Central Pennsylvania (Williamsport). Scrapple is a must for breakfast.
SCRAPPLE!!!!
How long before Dave runs into some of the folks around here in Florida who don't take too kind to being filmed while eating?
Probably as quickly as I did in Pennsylvania. 🤷🏻
@@RetroRestStop Florida rednecks are built different I tell ya lol
We were actually laughing about it at my job here but overall no one said anything to him, we thought it was cool and abnormal

Scrapple sounds very similar to barbacoa, which I love
Your close, Scrabble is boiled bone meat with buckwheat or cornmeal and other spices. I believe it's best fried
*Dave talking about scrapple* 🤠
*Dani hearing about scrappel* 😒🤢🤮😳

Bread from the northeast is better!!
Scrapple sounds vile🤮🤮🤮
I googled and it’s from Southern Mid-Atlantic? If that makes sense?
French toast aka eggy bread 😂
My mom called it egg bread
