The Danni going through Jeremy's bag thing is pretty much confirmed by everyone on that tribe, and I'm pretty sure Jeremy admitted to making it up to keep the target off himself. Many of them were surprised it didn't make the episode as it was a pretty pivotal aspect of Danni's boot and they thought it was clever gameplay on Jeremy's half.
I definitely believe Danni. I wish they would've included that storyline... but I get why they didn't (Edge eating airtime, Danni's lack of relevance to overall story, protecting Jeremy's reputation as a hero)
Wow this is real shitty bc every holy arrogant god complex superfan without thinking (bc since they're basically jesus they don't need to think) decided that literally what aired was true (as they often do when The Feeeeemales are involved) and therefore Danni was a bad player, didn't deserve to win Guatemala, and should be personally ashamed for letting THEM the magnificent superfan down
No one gives Jamie enough credit. Yeah, he was WAY out there, but when his heart was in the right place, it showed. I remember the episode where he gave up his place in line at the reward challenge to make up for his sour attitude. And his reaction to his blindside was very classy and sportsmanlike. He's a good guy, but he's not very subtle as a survivor player.
Yeah, he even made up with Bobby Jon at the Final 9 when he didn't necessarily "need to". Plus, seeing Jamie and BJ laughing their ass off at Tribal from the Jury side every time someone took a shot at Stephenie was great.
Jamie is probably my favorite character in Guatemala to be honest. Guy had a big heart and just wanted to win. Him being BFFs with Bobby Jon during the jury stage of the game is extremely wholesome
I feel like I’m the only one who watched Lindsay in episode one talk about her game and strategy and how she talked to people with the girls alliance and waited for the classic survivor switch to someone else’s confessional after Lindsay’s moment where they’d be like “you know Lindsay…she’s doing too much”
I mean, according to her. Of course she'll portray herself in a positive light but we won't really know for sure what went on until the other Coco members start doing exit press. It's very much possible that Lindsay was already spiraling before Karla stopped talking to her (and similarly just as likely that her story checks out, I don't mean to discredit her since we just won't know for a while).
I'll be interested to hear what Karla, Cassidy, and James say after the fact! Of course there's tons we don't see, but I really get the impression Karla was just tired of reinforcing a week+ long consensus boot and Lindsay took it in a manner that wasn't intended. If anything I'd guess that a player as good as Karla wouldn't shut down communication between her boot target the afternoon before tribal so that they don't catch on and play SITD/idols/advantages
If I’m Karla I would be annoyed too. If you make a plan with someone and they feel the need to check in with you 20 times, that can feel disrespectful, like they don’t trust you to keep your word
I guess Cassidy's the challenge beast then? I mean, she performed very well last week... Just kidding, she's clearly biding her time. Question is, does she know Karla is so strategical?
I didn't know that Dan from Gabon passed away. How sad. And thanks for mentioning it. Usually when I say mean stuff while talking about Survivor, or any other reality show, I'm only joking (or half joking at least lol).. but I don't want to accidentally do that to someone who is deceased.
I knew Jamie was gonna be #1 before even clicking. Dan Kay, even Randy had nothing but kind words to say when the guy passed away. I still remember him way overthinking the sandy crater idol clue. Also I don't know why the onions voted out Dan, Dan was really willing to work with them and Susie would soon flip to vote out the onion leader Marcus which caused their demise. Aside from a miracle immunity run from Bob they would have undoubtedly lost the game (and even then Bob won by the skin of his teeth.)
I actually enjoyed Guatemala. It had some terrific characters like Judd, Rafe, crazy Jamie, and saw America’s favorite Stephanie turn heel into villain. It also had some great challenges including the legendary initial hike to camp, and the Mayan pyramid campsite itself was perhaps the most iconic ever. It was much more entertaining than Palau, IMO.
I would trade out Dan and Danni for Shannon (S21 - Nicaragua) and Jennifer (Kaoh Rong). Bonus: Michaela (Millennials vs. Gen X) for overstrategizing the long game with her allies before Tribal Council.
Jenny wasn’t paranoid though, she just made an offhand remark that suggested she wasn’t loyal to the guys. And Shannon wasn’t paranoid as much as just being a dick
Not following you on Shannon. From what I've read (interviews with Tribemates and so on) Shannon's issue was pretty simple. He was transparent. Sash, Brenda and Kelly B all knew he had zero interest in working with them. Even those who he did consider allies were also very aware of his hierarchy. On top of that, he was a dick. Add in the uneven tribes (Old vs. Young) and you have a guy who's value to most of the tribe is just muscles. You don't need the muscles. And is unpleasant to be around.
@@Meodread I mean when he starts being straight up homophobic in Tribal Council, it just shows he's got nothing to offer and is a liability to morale and...morals.
@@AA-dd3we interviews suggest he was done already at that point though. This is not a defense of Shannon. I'd argue its an indictment. His grave was dug and filled by personality traits well beyond paranoia.
I will not hear Guatemala slander, that season is so good -Judd being the best loud mouth archetype ever -Steph's rise and fall at the same time -very good pre merge boot cast (Jim, Brian, Amy, Margaret, Blake, Brooke and Brandon) -Rafe being an underrated counterpart to Danni -Jamie's paranoia that made him a great villain with a redeeming boot -Amazing setting at camp and at tribal The only downsides are Danni being under edited and Lydia going to far and not adding much
While the hardcore Guatemala fan and defender in me can't take the season slander in the Danni entry lying down, I can absolutely appreciate the season getting number 1 with the Jamie entry, and the fact that technically 2 entries in his list of 5 have to do with it. Well done.

Named after "Purple" Kelly Shinn from Survivor: Nicuragua (nicknamed that because of a purple streak in her hair) who got a whopping 5 confessionals on the show up until her final episode.
Matt Bolton. Though I do kinda think even without the paranoia he didn't fit any of the tribal dynamics. Not submissive/bro enough for the Zach alliance. And the girls found him condescending. Leaves him really with no port in the storm.
Am I the only one who read Jamie's reaction to being blindsided completely differently? There is very clear sarcasm and anger in his voice. It's not "Good move guys, that was a great blondside" and more "nice way of voting out your ally, assholes, you couldn't even tell me it was coming?!?". His tone is bitter not appreciative
Heather got purpled because she was a boring goat. Just like the winner was boring and pointless. That’s why viewers had basically no idea that her and the 2nd worst winner ever were an alliance.
Erika is not even close to being one of the worst winners, and imo, she wasn't boring at all. I prefer people like Erika over nutjobs, like Coach, Phillip, and Debbie. I also prefer her over jerks, like Colton, Naonka, and a lot of the cast of World's Apart.
@@kellydaunis ok. You didn’t even name winners btw. Just people that you didn’t like which is cool but you didn’t defend Erika if that was the point. Lol

Dan Barry was pretty great, too.
Still the worst name overall on Survivor but Dan Kay, Dan Lembo, and Danny McCray are all lovable at least
