Nice video. There are a ton of vids out there but I don't recall seeing one where they mentioned top coating pre glazing. After failing at my first attempt wo top coating I am going back to the drawing board. thank you for doing the video.

Very nice! I’m a little confused though, you said you applied a GF topcoat before the glaze? I thought topcoat was the final step (?). If you used a general finishes milk paint would you have not needed to topcoat and just apply the glaze directly on top of the paint? Thanks !
pensivern when applying glaze, I apply the top coat over the GF milk paint or any paint I am using, then apply the glaze, wipe back, and then seal with the top coat again. It’s standard glazing practice as it allows for more control on your wipe back. Hope this helps!

The look I’m trying to achieve is the way it looked after you wiped it down once where it was black and gray mix. Could I just leave most of the glaze on the gray paint to achieve that? Or do I have to wipe it off?
Hi Laura, It depends on what you are going for. Wise Owl has a gorgeous dark star metallic navy glaze that might look amazing. If you want to go classic, I would go with black. that is really cool! It seems to give a metallic look to the drawers.. where you can see lighter shades with darker ones. Just beautiful!

Can you distress this with sandpaper? When? After the coats of paint have completely dried? Do you do it right before the sealer?

You can leave as much or as little of the glaze you want. 😊
