Sarah Pinborough writes the coolest thrillers! I love how she blends genres in her stories. Behind Her Eyes is one of my all-time favorites and has been hard to top!
Here are some recommendations from back in the 1990's. All by author Thomas H. Cook. "Instruments of Night" written in 1998. "The Chatham School Affair" written in 1996. "Breakheart Hill" written in 1995.
I read The Housemaid and I got through it in one day! I kind of felt the plot twist coming bc I have hard time trusting anyone in thrillers but I think it was definitely unexpected as a whole!
I read it all in one day as well! I agree it wasn’t the most mind blowing twist ever but I thought it was executed so well and was so fun to read. Glad you enjoyed it as well! 😊
The new neighbour - carter wilson The good lie - A.R. Torr The arrangement -kiersten modgli Who is maud dixon The island - adrian mckinty ( survival triller) They never learn- lyne farco Confessions Behind her eyes , insomnia - sarah pinborough The house across the lake - riley sager
Thank you for these recommendations! They’ve gotten me back into reading and I can’t thank you enough!! I’m going through all the books on this video - I will edit my comment with ratings to them all when I finish! But: The housemaid - 4/5 (I then read the second one) I’m currently reading 56 days and loving so far!
Everyone needs to read The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton, I just finished it and it is one of the most gripping books I have ever read the journey it takes you on is interesting and exciting I literally could not sleep until I finished it and the ending is great it has a plot twist at the end that I did not see coming at all and the audiobook is great
I’m excited to check out the recommendations! I read The Housemaid but I read that after I’ve read The Last Mrs Parish, and I liked that one better. The two are eerily similar!
2 things: 1 - I recommend The Good Lie all the time, was happy to see it here! 2 - Very excited to read a lot of these! Thanks for the great video & great recs!
I had read The arrangement, They never learn, Confessions and Insomnia! I loved They never learn, but I'd figured out the twist even before I started reading the book 😂 but it was a really great experience cause I felt emotionally connected to the story! I liked confessions as well, and about insomnia, I wanted it to end in a different way (still liked it though) and I wrote a short story inspired by Insomnia lol... Omg my comment is too long!
Yes! Love this video. Great comprehensive list. I'm sure you've read it but I loved the plot twist in Sharp Objects. Also the show is fantastic as well.
New here and I am excited!! I have read 2 in this list. I am typically a fantasy reader but I enjoy breaking that up with a good thriller! Thanks for new books to sink into this summer!
These are some great recommendations! I am adding a few to my endless TBR. I've read The Arrangement , The Island and Behind Her Eyes. I think The New Neighbor looks really intriguing.
The Kind Worth Killing (Peter Swanson) has a solid twist. Also, I'm not sure if The End Of Her (Shari Lapena) has a twist or if it's more of general wtf. And the ultimate twisty classic is Rebecca (Daphne du Maurier).
The books I still need to read are Who Is Maud Dixon, The Good Lie, The Arrangement, and They Never Learn! Im most excited for The Good Lie and They Never Learn because love an academic setting
I read a lot of thrillers and also have a true crime channel so I usually see the plot twist a mile away. The book that kept me guessing until the end was Hidden Pictures by Jason Renulak. I can't recommend this book enough! It hasn't gotten a lot of attention yet but it's a must read!
I just checked out Who is Maud Dixon from my library. Your comment about not reading the little synopsis got me curious. I usually don’t read these for any books. If someone recommends a book to me and tries to tell me what it is about, I plug my ears and say not to tell me. Not even the genre! 😅
Behind Her Eyes and Confessions are one of my most favourite thrillers. Everybody said that the first chapter of confessions was mindblowing and it certainly was! My jaws dropped. The movie is also well done 1:1 with the book, but I still reccomend the book first. I just yesterday finished Insomnia. I liked the paranormal stuff, but the book was extremely repetitive and the main character unlikable. I was eager to read They never learned, it was so recommended with huge plot twist. And this in fact is my fav plot twist, because somehow it catches me every single time, but NO, not this time, I saw this coming litteraly in the very beginning. I DNF-ed it at the middle. I didn't like it at all. I ddin't bond with Whos Maud Dixon (also very recommended). I saw it coming, been there seen that lol. Have you read "Wrong place, wrong time"? It started slow for me, but it escalated and I didn't see anything coming at all. Love it!
I just read Centennial by Meghan E Craft 📕 It’s about the Bennington Triangle! Love house across the lake too! Think I may dive in to the Arrangement next - sound so good!
Have you read Look Closer by David Ellis? You like not trusting characters and that book immediately came to mind. You know you can't trust everyone's POV right from the start, and it's a lot of fun coming across the many, many reveals. Some were predictable but some were a shocker!
I am right there with you. I do not like books with "plot twist" that I can figure out what is going to happen 25% into the book. Appreciate the recommendations. Behind Her Eyes though....definitely top tier when it comes to plot twist. I will add Insomnia to my list to read.
Between You and Me by Lisa Hall was WILD. Not the greatest thriller you’ll read, but after the twist….I need to read it again to orient myself lol 100% blindsided!!
I am a fan of Lisa Jewell, she is an excellent story writer with lots of suspense and twists that you weren't expecting ! My favorite book from her, "And Then She Was Gone." It is one of the best selling books and trust me it is worth the read. I highly recommend this book if you are into intriguing suspense!
Hi ! I want to share with you about one book: "KAYAN KOLLYN- The spiral of the Ellmott & messenger of the secret." a great fiction of adventure, mystery, ART, an ancient CRAFFARTT, and science. once you read it, you definitely love it, because it speaks about all dimensions of life, without the barrier of the beliefs and social divisions. Love your content! Waiting for your review ❤❤❤
I see a lot of comments about the silent patient…. I bought this book a while ago and ended up returning it cuz it was so slow and boring to me lol! I LOVED the housemaid though! Great book and great author! 📚🖤
There is a book named BLOODLINE by Sidney Shaldon , uts just.. great, in a simple language keeps u intact, also agatha chrities poirots last case Just fablous
I loved The Island by Adrian McKinty and I have not been able to find survivor thrillers like that. If anyone has any recommendations, please give them ❤
Sundial by Catriona Ward had the best twist I've seen in at least five years. Earthlings by Sayaka Murata is also great I loved Insomnia by SP and I loved Penance by Kanae Minato. I just ordered "Out" by Katsuo Kirino and hav high hopes
Behind her eyes I watched not knowing there was a book. After I had to read the book. The show was pretty exact to the book unlike many out there. I wasn’t bored reading after the fact. Just wanted to say.
Pausing this video until I’ve finished the book I’m reading as I don’t want to ruin it. I’m currently reading Behind Closed Doors, lots of people have recommended it to me so I’m giving it a go. Got a feeling I know where it might go and if so I am horrified, I can’t wait to keep reading I’m on page 85 and it’s sucked me in already 🔪
I think I'm the only one who was didn't love The Housemaid. There were little discrepancies in it that ruined my immersion and the plot twists didn't have any shock factor for me
The first thing I do before I rely on someone's book recommendations is whether or not they like Coleen Hoover drivel. I'm glad, and thankful, to say you passed! :-)
I think THE BEST plot twist I have ever read is in Clare Mackintosh I let you go. But also in her Lie to Me there are twists all the way through I didn't see coming! Also really enjoyed You let me in by Lucy Clarke!
I’m excited to check out the ones on here I haven’t read, and I really liked the ones you mentioned that I have already read! Rock Paper Scissors by Alice Feeney got me with the twist in that one-I’d count that on a list like that!
How did The Silent Patient not make this list!! my favorite thriller of all time!
Yasss

Just finished it yesterday... It's dope fr!!! THE BEST
I just finished it today and wow! I can’t stop thinking about it.

Sarah Pinborough writes the coolest thrillers! I love how she blends genres in her stories. Behind Her Eyes is one of my all-time favorites and has been hard to top!
Seriously

One of the best and creepiest thriller ever.
Here are some recommendations from back in the 1990's. All by author Thomas H. Cook. "Instruments of Night" written in 1998. "The Chatham School Affair" written in 1996. "Breakheart Hill" written in 1995.

Agree. But Housemaid 2 was disappointing
Just finished The Housemaid and I LOVED IT
Omg! I just finished this book tonight. It is really good. I did not expect the ending. I’m going to read the 2nd book of this series by Freida.
I have just finished this book and it was one of the best books I have ever read! The plot was very well timed and highly developed!

I’m currently reading 56 days and loving so far!
The two book I recommend is Daisy Darker and The Woman Outside My Door 😊

Oh my gosh, me too!!!
Everyone needs to read The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by
Stuart Turton, I just finished it and it is one of the most gripping books I have ever read the journey it takes you on is interesting and exciting I literally could not sleep until I finished it and the ending is great it has a plot twist at the end that I did not see coming at all and the audiobook is great
So excited to see confessions on this list. I just finished it around a week ago, and it’s definitely a new favourite!
Where did u find it please ...
I love pretty much all of McKinty's detective fiction books. He has some great stuff set in Northern Ireland during the "Troubles". Good stuff.
listen i haven't had a surprising fun thriller in so freakin long and i've been guessing so many twists so i NEEDED THIS.
Read No Exit !
@@dianebaum5194 already have & saw the movie twice!
The perfect marriage by Jeneva Rose had a good plot twist I didn't see coming! I still think about my reaction to it. 👍
I’m excited to check out the recommendations! I read The Housemaid but I read that after I’ve read The Last Mrs Parish, and I liked that one better. The two are eerily similar!
OMG. I so needed this. Been in a reading slump and these sound perfect!
2 things:
1 - I recommend The Good Lie all the time, was happy to see it here!
2 - Very excited to read a lot of these! Thanks for the great video & great recs!
Yessss Confessions and Behind Her Eyes are unmatched for me😆 Definitely going to check out the ones I haven’t read!
I had read The arrangement, They never learn, Confessions and Insomnia! I loved They never learn, but I'd figured out the twist even before I started reading the book 😂 but it was a really great experience cause I felt emotionally connected to the story! So cool that book inspired you to write a short story!
Oooh the survivor thriller sounds amazing. Thanks for the recs!
Hi Ashley, I read Behind Her Eyes recently and WOW! I would have never guessed the twist x
It’s truly impossible to see coming!
Yes! Love this video. Great comprehensive list.

Yesss the show was SO good 😍
New here and I am excited!! I have read 2 in this list. I am typically a fantasy reader but I enjoy breaking that up with a good thriller! Thanks for new books to sink into this summer!
Have you read the last guests by J.P Pomare ?
You have to read Fool Me Once by Harlan Coben 😭. Now that's a PLOT TWIST 💌
Just put it on hold at the library! Thanks!
I bought two books from your list because you recommend them.
You’ve definitely made me add a few books to my TBR! A book I read recently that had a few pretty good twists was Keep It in the Family by John Marrs.
I loveeeed behind closed doors I recently finished that and the housemaid and now the housemaids secrets I’ll have to check out the others
These are some great recommendations! I am adding a few to my endless TBR. I've read The Arrangement , The Island and Behind Her Eyes. I think The New Neighbor looks really intriguing.
Best twist I’ve ever read - Twenty Years Later by Charlie Donlea. LOVED!! Highly recommend
Confessions is possibly my favorite book all time
confessions was wild, so good.. thanks for this vid! added some new ones for my TBR
The Kind Worth Killing (Peter Swanson) has a solid twist. Also, I'm not sure if The End Of Her (Shari Lapena) has a twist or if it's more of general wtf. And the ultimate twisty classic is Rebecca (Daphne du Maurier).
I skipped so quickly past Hidden Pictures. I'm about to start reading it and I'm really looking forward to it.😎
I didn't know The Island was being adapted! Fun!
Yes I’m so excited!
Ashley read Never lie by Frieda Mcfadden! It's implausible and sometimes silly but fun and twisty beyond belief! Gave it 4 stars!
I definitely want to read more from her so I’ll check it out!
I do agree! Never Lie is really that good.
Thanks for some great choices, can't wait to get them. 📖
Thank you for the suggestions! One of my favorites is Little Secrets by Jennifer Hillier
I’ve never even heard of The New Neighbor!!! Sounds so interesting 👀
it's a fun one!!
The books I still need to read are Who Is Maud Dixon, The Good Lie, The Arrangement, and They Never Learn! Im most excited for The Good Lie and They Never Learn because love an academic setting
Wow you’re crushing through the list! Hope you enjoy the remaining ones 😊
The wife between us is more a psychological thriller but it have a twist.
I read a lot of thrillers and also have a true crime channel so I usually see the plot twist a mile away. The book that kept me guessing until the end was Hidden Pictures by Jason Renulak. I can't recommend this book enough! It hasn't gotten a lot of attention yet but it's a must read!
Agreed. I love a book that turns my head a full 360! Not many do since I’m 51 and grew up reading suspense/mystery/thriller books since I was 14.
Sounds unteresting. I also spot the twists almost all of the time, so I will have to check on this one!
Great book, I did not see what was coming
Yeah, I love it, but ending is so bad and doesn't make sense, which makes a novel not to read it .
The BEST PLOT-TWIST is THE WHISPERER ( MILA VASQUEZ # 1) by italian DONATTO CARRISI; A thriller BIG T!!!!!!!!
I'm so excited for The Island movie too!! I hope they do a good job with it!
I just checked out Who is Maud Dixon from my library. Your comment about not reading the little synopsis got me curious. I usually don’t read these for any books. If someone recommends a book to me and tries to tell me what it is about, I plug my ears and say not to tell me. Not even the genre! 😅

Finally a video with good recomendations without mentioning silent patient. There are many books better than silent patient, its just so overrated
Not necessarily as much of a thriller, but have you read We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves by Karen Joy Fowler? Think you might like it!
I am a fan of Lisa Jewell, she is an excellent story writer with lots of suspense and twists that you weren't expecting ! My favorite book from her, "And Then She Was Gone." @@ashleyslittlelibrary definitely look up The Day I died. I hope to start it asap 😁
I think I'm the only one who was didn't love The Housemaid. There were little discrepancies in it that ruined my immersion and the plot twists didn't have any shock factor for me
Ywssssssss
The first thing I do before I rely on someone's book recommendations is whether or not they like Coleen Hoover drivel. I'm glad, and thankful, to say you passed! :-)
Thank god, a list WITHOUT THE SILENT PATIENT! That book was sooooo foreseeable
Thought I was the ONLY one who saw that ending coming!!!!!!
Saw it a mile away
I think THE BEST plot twist I have ever read is in Clare Mackintosh I let you go. But also in her Lie to Me there are twists all the way through I didn't see coming! Also really enjoyed You let me in by Lucy Clarke!
