Federal Signal: 500-AT, Alert - Monticello, Indiana

- This is a test of the Federal Signal 500-ATs Jordan Skate Park in Monticello, Indiana filmed on March 21st, 2016. This was my first recording on my new camera so I was pretty excited about that.
The county was about 5 minutes late testing so I called to make sure they were still testing and they were. Pager tones came over my scanner shortly after. Sirens in White County are tested every Monday at 10a.m. EST.
Unfortunately, the other 500-AT on the south side didn't sound for Matt Hackler. The good news is that since he witnessed the failure, we were able to report it to the EMA.
Siren starts at 1:30 if you aren't interested in activation tones or radio chatter. - Розваги
federal signal's version of the ACA Penetrator 10
Vise-versa really. The 500 is much older than the penetrator is.
True
It’s really ACAS verison of the 500. The penetrator
@Timofey Kozyrev I know
@Timofey Kozyrev it’s ok
1:31 Two Tone Federal Signal 500AT Alert Activation 2:40 Two Tone Federal Signal 500AT Alert Deactivation/Cancellation
That sounds exactly like an ACA Allertor or P10 or something
Skip to minute 1:30 if you don't want to hear the siren activation tones
me: mom, can we have an ACA P-10?
mom: no, we already have an ACA P-10 at home!
ACA P-10 at home:
The 500 came first though
Mom can we have 500at
We already have 500at at home
A c a p - 1 0
Those 9/12 port FS 500 AT's are likely to be confused with ACA Allertors or P-10/15's when only heard. 10/12 port FS 500 AT's have a more unique sound. Great video btw!
true, since they have the same port ratios as most allertors and the same pitch as them, if one is heard during an ambience it can definiely be confused with the 9/12 allertors.
The other one's higher pitched than this one, but this one has the best sound I've heard from a 500AT. It's also so near to the playground..
What's the video to the other one
Please tell me it's still around and active.
Sadly according to Bill (amtrak3501) both 500's were replaced by T-128's
Spencer Harman correct. And they moved them farther apart because they think they are going to cover twice he area of these. Wishful thinking.
@[NANO_FATMAT] you mean asc, aca no longer exists
T-128s are way too common
@@squiddy7863 weird as these can also reach 128dB at 100 feet. Most are 126
This one still stands in the same spot, however has fallen silent
Just out of curiosity was this siren there in the 1974 tornado?
I love the A-T.
Goes off at 1:30 You're Welcome!
siren starts at 1:30
Great recording! Love the new camera and another plus for the tones!
What's the frequency?
+Spencer Harman Thanks! I believe it's 155.130.
@@squiddy7863 Is it still the same as of 2021?
@@SailorKirby I’m not sure. I haven’t been up there since this recording.
@@squiddy7863 that really sounds like SD-10 when it cancels
Who knew that was you on Instagram? Great video btw!
They all have the same port ratio
Would have loved to see kids playing in the park on test day when this bad boy went off! lol
The earlier models like the ones in Los Angeles has a shorter projector horn
AT A PLAYGROUND???
Please don't tell me they put the gear reducer in wrong
A bit of an odd place for a siren
Is it still there?...I only went to Indiana Beach several years ago.
This one is still in place, but it has been disconnected so this one no longer sounds for tests or warnings. Their system got upgraded with T-128's in 2017 or 2016 so some of these models have been removed. I know this from the Indiana Outdoor Warning Sirens Map and research
That was aN ACA P15
this looks kinda like a roundback 2001 dc
This also sounds like the SD 10 And The Model 7T 5T Siren And The Aca Alertor And The Aca P-10
lol u don't have to list it and who asked
@@pLzza4150 lol
also I forgot to say this but no offense when I said who asked
Nice recording
Do you think it sounds like a p-50?
The 500AT
if im correct, this is the father of the 2001 line. correct?

a second version of an ACA allertor?
@James Wheeler o ok
Lol today is 9/12/18 and the siren is 9/12 port XD
Great and 9/12 for the cold war era sound
It sounds like either a P-10 or an Allertor, eh?
same ports
That has a 8/12 port Chopper.
That isn't an 8/12 Port. It's a 9/12 Port, Like an ACA Allertor
8/12 port chopper would like an ACA p50
RRRalphyBoiii T 8/12 500 SH-TTs probably never existed
@@coydog7902 ASC 128 plus thunderbolt 1003 tone 2= P-50 sounding off
@@mr.stalin4070 why the fuck was I once a retarded kiddie, all these shitty comments I made I regret and make me cringe
This is just a freaking test😂
Still active?
Nope :(
@@squiddy7863 rip
Replaced with T-128s
please tell me i'm not the only one that searched "aca 500at"
bro..
Sounds similar to an allertor 125
Never saw any ACA allertors
it sound like a lower pitched allerator to me
my name is adam Allertor*
my name is adam aca/asc/b&n allertor version for fs
Same ports as not only an ACA Allertor, ACA P-10, ACA Howler, ACA Screamer, but also Federal Signal SD-10s. All are 8/12 Port.
And/or 9/12 ports
1:30
both 500 were replaced by ACA Allertor
Do you have any proof whatsoever to back this up?
1,31
sounds like allertor
They have the same port ratio
#fs500at
These things are neat, but they are just a piece of junk in 2017
Not really. These things are great sirens, especially the beastly 10/12 SH-TT.
Wrong
@@thunderbolt10031 more like the super strong 8/12 dh tt
