I like this design, but before buying one I would like to know what the overall leverage ratio is. Can you tell me that? If that is not known, can you tell me the pin to pin dimensions of the top three pins along with the dimension from the end of the handle to the first pin? So in other words, looking at the top three pins, what is the dimension from the right pin to the middle pin, and the dimension from the middle pin to the left pin and the dimension from the middle pin to the end of the handle. If I had those dimensions, I could figure out the overall leverage ratio. Thanks.

5 years late. But for funsies I will wager that 1 3/4" from the top two left horizontal pins. 5" from the top to bottom pin that are straight vertical of each other. 9.5 inches between the 2 bottom pins. 14 inches from the second pin from the left on top to the end of the handle. This is all guesstimating but I feel like it's pretty close

How much? you can give a range of price if Mr. Blankenship wouldn't mind. Either way, I'll give him a call. Sure I can build it, but if the price is reasonable, I just as soon buy one, and save myself the time.

Thank you sir! $130.00 is not bad for a hand built machine like this one. I'd rather give Fred a 130 bucks than give the Chi-Coms a dime!

After drying for two weeks do we place them in bags and store them in the freezer before cracking?

You can crack them after two weeks without freezing them first. If you aren't going to crack them, then put them in your freezer until you are ready to crack. You can also keep them in the freezer and crack them as needed throughout the winter/spring. I've heard of people cracking nuts a few years old so long as they've been frozen. Quality will diminish but they'll still be good.
