In 2023 the Ball Chair turns 60 years! ⚪️💫

In the early 1960s, the Finnish designer Eero Aarnio was still a self-employed
unknown designer dreaming to create memorable furniture. His fascination with sailing boats encountered him with the new at the time fiberglass material, with which he decided to experiment in furniture design. He chose the most practical shape for this innovative material - the round one. On January 11, 1963, the first sketch of the ball chair appeared, followed by the first prototype - a shell with a beautiful outer surface and an uneven and rough interior.
