The easiest and most plausible answer is that Kishimoto didn't even think about Tsunade's parents. He just had a simple time lines thought like: "Mmh... Can't make her daughter of Hashirama, that would make her too old. She'll be his granddaughter. Done, problem solved."

There are a lot that wasn't planned ahead on Narutoverse, I'm watching over the entire anime again, because I'm presenting the series to the next generation. It is clear that I. The beginning MI ato wasn't going to be Naruto's father, that Hashirama and Tobirama Senju were meant to be weaker Tha. Sarutobi, that Shisui and Izuna were never meant to have the Mangekyo Sharingan (Itachi clearly states that he was the third person ever to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan), and that Madara wasn't to be such a big deal until Kishimoto started planning the Sasuke's defection to Orochimaru and his fight with Naruto. Indra and Asura and the whole Sage of the Six Paths story arc wasn't even in the picture until they needed an even step ger doujutsu than the Mangekyo Sharingan, and the EMS was essentially a hushed up idea for Itachi to have a noble death because he was uber popular, also for Sasuke no not go blind for nothing other than achieving his revenge, because he was also uber popular too.

It's pretty sad that so much incredibly high level ninja died off camera. All that potential gone, just like that. People really underestimate the tragedy of war. Other examples of strong ninja dying off camera due to war are Jiraiya's parents, Orochimaru's parents, Minato's entire clan, every Uzumaki we haven't seen, Kakashi and Guy's mothers, Lee's parents (not confirmed dead but all evidence leads to Lee being another orphan), Kagami Uchiha, Kagami's children (who are also Shiui Uchiha's parent) and Sasuke Sarutobi (Hiruzen's dad and a legendary ninja).
Other strong dead ninja are Jiraiya's other two students, who were trained alongside Minato. A common misconception is that those two ninja were Sasuke's mom and Teuchi (ramen man). This is wrong because both of those characters are older than Minato. Since those two teammates are never mentioned by Jiraiya, it is more than likely that they died very young, since during Minato's childhood war was constantly ongoing and children were sent to the battlefield to fight. Every ninja has lost a lot of friends to war.
My guess is that Minato's teammates were one Hyuga and one Sarutobi because the Hyuga have dark coloured hair and lower branch Hyuga members like Neji cover their forehead to hide their Byakugan seal, which the teammate has dark hair and covers his forehead with bandages. The Sarutobi teammate has similar clothing to young Hiruzen and has brown skin like Hiruzen and Asuma. My evidence is not the most reliable but it's the best I can solve using the little info we have.

I completely understand that writers hits a wall against right or block because you notice it throughout the manga how certain stories are rushed. But you would think with the popularity of Naruto they will start writing the backstory leading up to naruto. Yes we got the flashbacks but actually do a whole series like they did with Phantom Menace, Clone Wars, Revenge of the Sith.
@@quentinjones6877 Not all Byakugan users have white eyes. Naruto's daughter Himawari has normal eyes (blue like Naruto) but she can use the Byakugan. Imagine if the Hyuga elders tried to seal Himawari's eyes with death seal like with Neji. Naruto would rage and tear them a new butthole 😅. It's good he changed Hinata's dad into a loving grandparent, instead of the cold father he was to Hinata. Hinata became a ninja because her dad saw her as a failure and told Kurenai that he didn't care if Hinata died in battle.
I like the idea that this mystery child just decided to live a normal life in the village and not become a shinobi. It would explain why they aren't mentioned at all, and it would fit Hashirama's dream of creating a place where hcildren didn't need to go to war.
It makes sense, but if they were alive it just doesn’t sit right with me we’d never see them, like we met sakuras parents who arent shinobi

Hearing the potential of being overpowered thanks to both Senju and Uzumaki blood would’ve made Tsunade sooo much more interesting and badass; in fact, fleshing out the lore and world building behind the bloodlines would’ve made the series so much better as well as a whole

I believe Tsunade and Hashirama, hell even Tobirama, have never spoken about her parents because she didn’t know them that long. Maybe they died shortly after her brother was born. I say this because of how Hashirama jokes about how she took after him with the gambling and all. He had to parent her and her brother until he died. Just a quick guess off the top lol

I don’t think it’s possible that Tsunade’s mother was a Yamanaka, especially seeing as Tsunade doesn’t seem to exhibit any of their traits beyond blonde hair, which is likely a recessive Senju gene. I would expect something more. The idea that Kakashi’s mother was an Inuzuka for example is much more believable.
However, the biggest reason why Tsunade can’t have a Yamanaka mother is her eyes. Senju, Uzumaki, and Yamanaka, all have pupil-less eyes. Hashirama *might* have pupils that just blend in with his dark brown irises, but I find that unlikely, as all his family members also lack pupils. He does have pupils in sage mode, which turns his eyes golden though. But seeing that sage Naruto and Kabuto also get gold toad/snake eyes, I find that also unlikely. Even curse mark Sasuke has the same golden eyes when he’s normally pupil-less. Tsunade does not pupil-less eyes. In fact, she has some of the most prominent irises in the series, and I don’t think you’d get that color from a Senju/Uzumaki/Yamanaka mix. You definitely could from a Namikaze, Minato and Naruto’s eyes and hair seem very dominant through multiple generations, even in Himawari. Though I’m not sure the Namikaze are a clan, it’s likely just a family name like Haruno.

That's like saying that because someones eye color is black, they don't have pupils. How does that make sense? Sorry if that came out rude, but saying that someone, a character or otherwise, doesn't have pupils because of a dark eye color is silly. Maybe a majority of those clans have pupil-less eyes, but not necessarily all of them. Oh and pupil and irises are entirely different, did you mean pupils? nvm, you were actually talking about the color of her eyes....
I do agree about the Yamanaka though, as they tend towards pupil-less eyes (Ino and Inoichi being prime examples).. So I am more inclined to think that she had a Namikaze mother (thus linking her to Minato as well as Kushina, even if only as cousins or something like that)

We know Tsunade’s parent is a Senju either has red or black hair the other parent is blonde there’s not many blonde families or clans.
If she was Yamanaka her her would be similar also she would use there jutsu but she has neither.
Leading to suspect she could possibly be a Namikaze and her and Minato could shed light on more information on the Namikaze.

The hair thing is debatable. The half had of blonde hair is one thing but Tobirama also has light(white since childhood) hair, and even the guy behind him at 5:21 has blonde hair. It could be a Recessive trait. I myself am Dark but my mom is brown and dad is Lightskinned but my grandfather amd every one born in his generation are dark skinned

I could definitely see lighter hair colors (especially blond) being a recessive trait for both Senju and Uzumaki.
Brunette/dark hair being dominant in Senju and red dominant in Uzumaki.
Yet, when you have these two clans with recessive blond genes that have children together or with someone who also has the genes, you’re very likely to get blond or lighter haired children.

There's one major problem about mito having tsunade's father while being kurama's jinchuriki with the same seal as kushina; if that happened, Tsunade would have two whisker-marks on each side of her face. So it was either a different seal or it didn't happen.

This is something I've been wondering. You've alluded to the Ino-Shika-Cho clans moving in and beginning to work together only after the village's foundation. That gives each clan an average of like 5 years per patriarch before the start of the show. Doesn't it make more sense if those clans had an alliance originating hundreds of years before the village? Much of the village's land belongs to the Nara clan. You've obviously done so much more research, but I always took it that the village was built pretty much on top of the Sarutobi alliance very willing to ally with the Senju and Uchiha.

Could've possibly been blonde, but the episodes didn't have a brighter color as they were all kind of light brown as some memory thing. Possible that he just had half brown and white hair. Or that Tobirama's hair got whiter as he got older.

Hashirama’s child was probably born Before konha was founded probably 11 years before konha was founded cause Hiruzen’s 8 when it’s founded and Tsunade is born when konha was 10 years old making Hiruzen 18 when she was born so her parents must be a little bit older than Hiruzen. Which means Mito and Hashirama met before Founding konha and had a kid or kids before they found konha.

This might sound stupid but what if Hashirama's son revolted against the village and either Hashirama and his son died fighting each other or Hashirama Killed him and out of remotion he committed suicide. That could explain why no one ever talks about Hashirama's son because he would be considered a traitor.
Hey Nick, I like your theory about Tsunade's parents, but I had also seen your theory on Kakashi's parents. Have you considered the thought that maybe her mother is from another Village (hence the blonde hair) and perhaps one of the triggers to the skirmishes of who owns the children? like these are some powerful children, great asset, good reason for a war. Just throwing it out there 😅
I don't think they ever considered developing Tsunade's father because it would have been perfect to reanimate him back during the 4th great ninja war. Or maybe he was so evil that his name is forbidden to mention.
I somehow doubt that Hashirama's son was _stronger_ than Naruto. More skilled? Definitely, and I'd attribute that to the fact that he lived in a time where _everyone_ of teaching-age had _killed in mortal combat_ before, and that as the son of Hashirama, _everyone_ would feel obligated to help the lad be successful due to his potential. But in terms of power? Unlike his father, this kid was _not_ an Incarnation of Ashura, so that boost would not have been afforded him like it was to Naruto.
Not that boost of power, no. But he would still be half Senju, half Uzumaki, with still living Uzumaki he could learn stuff from to utilize his massive chakra pool.

In most cases yes the woman takes the mans last name. There is one instance of the opposite. Sai. Sai took Ino's last name and he and Inojin are known as Sai and Inojin Yamanaka. This to me says that the clan of most renown is who the clan the family enters. In Tsunade's case, whether her mother or father was Senju, the family would have entered the Senju clan. There are only a few clans that would "out rank" the Senju.
im pretty sure sai took her last name because he really didnt have a last name or know his parents. Think about it, Sai is the name Danzo gave him as a cover since he was root and never used their names. As well as him being an orphan, he probably never knew his parents to begin with
in Naruto marriage works like in Japan, like Minato and Naruto adopting the Uzumaki surname from Kushina, the Yamanaka clan is one of the most important in Konoha

@@khristiandejesus5947 the family adopts the most important and high ranking name out of the two, the Uchiha Clan is one of the most important in Konoha meanwhile the Haruno clan is not even named almost. clans like the Sarutobi, Uzumaki (after Naruto got recognized by the shinobi alliance and their name got cleared) , Hyuga or Uchiha would never lose their names to other clans.
there are also more instances of this. Kushina and Mito are still referred to as being Uzumaki, they are never called Kushina Namikaze and Mito Senju respectively.
We really need a light novel or something about these lost years between the from the founding of the hidden villiage through the third great shinobi war

I believe Hashirama didn't want his child to be a ninja but he was assassinated because he was the strongest villages child orrrr Hashirama adopted an orphan let him take on the Senju last name and that orphan had Tsunade and her brother. The orphan scenario also helps the timeline, the child would of been 13 or so.

All we know about Hashirama's kid was that they were half Uzumaki/half Senju and they had two kids: Tsunade and Nawaki. I am wondering if he is going to point out the necklace that Nawaki wore when he was killed. I think I remember the necklace being used to seal the Nine Tails, Hashirama created the necklace (right), it got passed down to Naruto, and in one of the omake or whatever the specials was: the necklace was said to be cursed because whoever owned it died.

The woman in the photo could have been Mito. If she'd used her strength of a hundred seal prior to the photo, the mark might have disappeared for a time. And we don't know if Uzamaki's, with their greater lifespans, are capable of getting pregnant at a much older age than what is normally possible. So she might have been in her 80s or so when she got pregnant, which would make her in her early 100s at the time of the photo. Mito also doesn't appear in any of Tsunade's flashbacks. And though her hair looks brown in the picture, the photo looks tinted brown anyway, so everything is discolored.

I don't think he would have been stronger than Naruto. Maybe relative to him, but he was definitely could have been op as hell. What if Hashirama's son died in Uzushiogakure, during it's destruction? It wasn't until Hashirama died that Uzushiogakure was attacked, and I've heard that the Hidden Villages of the Great Nations came together to destroy them. What if Konoha was involved? What if, Tobirama was instrumental in the Village Hidden in Whirpools' destruction? Could Hashirama's son have been Madara-like? Embracing his Uzumaki roots (more than likely showing more Uzumaki talent, maybe he even had red hair), he could have taken control of the Whirpools after Uzumaki Ashina died, or maybe Hashirama's son ... killed him!? 🤔 This could be the reason why Hashirama's son, and details of Uzushiogakure, were erased from Konoha's history.

I thought from my reading that the Uzamaki and Senju clan alliance forged by Hashirama marrying into the family predated the formation of the ninja village. It's entirely possible that Hashirama's son was born many years before the alliance with the Uchiha, which would slim down the timeline again. Also, there's no reason to assume Tsunade's parents were 20 when she was born, they could easily have been 18 as well. There are lots of places to shave years back off the timeline.

Was it actually stated that Tsunade's name was Senju? I've only ever heard that she was Hashirama's granddaughter and people inferring that means her name was Senju too.

You can fix the timeline by making them teenage parents which makes them choose not to be ninja and possibly it gets leaked out and they're killed

Kawaki has that weird split hair thing going on maybe he is a Senju it makes sense both Hashirama’s Brother and Kawaki have that blood hair thing going on since so few characters have that maybe there’s a connection that also explains at least partially why he was the vessel him being at least partially Senju would make him a good choice also I don’t get the obsession with the whole Senju / Uzumaki hybrid thing it’s stated in the series that they frequently inter-Mcgoal and that some point they branched off from each other so realistically the whole hybrid thing is kind of a miss number also some characters just have random hair colours like Naori Uchiha she was the one who created Izanami and she had purple hair for some reason it’s also possible just like real life characters in the series die their hair

Makes sense how Mito was there when fighting the nine tails. She wasn't just a sealer, but could get a massive power boost from the strength seal. Cause even hashirama would have trouble fighting the nine tails while also worrying about someone else.
In Naruto, the stronger clan name is passed to the child regardless of who the father is. This is how Naruto is known as a Uzumaki and not a Namikaze. The Namikaze clan is said to be strong, but its Minato is leagues above the rest.
I really subscribe to mito theory that she raised tunade because we know she had a long life as she was the one who give kurama to khushina and she was just a kid and mito was very old
I know this may sound crazy but... what if Hashirama's kid was not that impressive? Like maybe he had the potential to be, but he never put in the work and ended up squandering his gifts.
If Hashirama spoiled his grand daughter, he might have spoiled his own kids in turn after losing the majority of his family and trying not to repeat the mistakes his own father made. That being turning each child into a weapon to be discarded, and instead cherishing each child he had to the point of coddling. Which made them in turn, horrible ninja.
And it was not until after Hashirama and his son died, that whoever was in charge of caring for Tsunade and her brother finally treated them like future ninjas and made them serious about their training.
Calling it now: Hashirama is Tsunade’s dad just calls them grandchildren

To be frank: ancient brides and pregnancies didn't happen at 20 years. Many civilizations, especially ones constantly at war, had children much younger. 18, 15, in extreme circumstances (though not this one) as soon as women could bear children.
