You should take him out in the boat. That would make his day and year. Life lessons are the greatest when you slow down enough to see them. Love all your videos GMan
@@chuckthecontractor so let a person that has little only know what he knows is your theory? Never experience something greater... ? What if 50 people decided to be nice to him?
I have an older Ranger, whenever I see a kid or old man fishing with passion from shore, I offer to take them on the boat. It’s nothing fancy, but it is like Wally World to those that have nothing. I was that kid, I am that old man. Grateful for what I have, what the good Lord has blessed me with and always happy to share. Slice of the pie.
Some folks will just never understand. Great post G-man. For many of us, it's not about the catching. It's about the going! Thanks for this post. God bless!
I'm not a religious person, but this video hits home for me. It's a good reminder for us all to be grateful for what we have and not take anything for granted. Great video, a LOT of people needed to hear this.
I am not judging you but please pray to God. He will change your life and give you peace. Watch some billy graham videos and I pray the Holy Spirit will lead you. I was the same as you but if you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you will be blessed. Hope you catch a bunch and like I said not judging God Bless
I see a man in my town in a wheelchair that does everything for himself. I've seen this guy wheel all the way across town to the laundromat and grocery store. He's not asking anyone for help. Every time I see him it resets my gratefulness.
Thanks G. This is the reason I watch you vids. You have a unique way of looking at life and you have the ability to say it like no other. Reminded me to be thankful every day for what I have. You made my day sir!
The good lord gave me the willpower and fight to stay alive. I am still struggling with a rare kidney disease and another disease I can't even spell. I've had over 40 surgeries and I'm only 32. Bass fishing is my life and passion.. I am a bank angler because it's all I can afford being disabled and on dialysis. My dream growing up was to be a professional like you! I have always looked up to you buddy. Just remember this... We may be sick and disabled, but our willpower and the good lord along with determination keeps us going.
I come off the football field one night hot, tired beat up. I thought to myself when’s halftime. Then I looked at the end of players sitting behind them was a boy in a wheelchair I played youth ball with. I’m getting choked up as I write this G.He would have give his last breath to play one more down!!! I started tearing up an people were like Burgess you aight? I said yeah I’m fine.So at halftime I give that speech.Play every down like it’s your last one, because Craig(The wheelchair guy) would give his last breath just to play one more with us guy’s.We went out shut them down an put up 42pts to come back an win!Sometimes we take for granted the abilities that god has blessed us with! From that night forward IVE not lived life the same.At 49yrs old now when I’m hot an tired from digging ditches I just think of Craig....Thanks G for reminding me that we’ve got it pretty darn good!👍🏼🤧
I watch on average 5 fishing videos a day. This was the best video I have ever watch on UA-cam.😌. Tomorrow will be a different day on my boat. Thanks G-Man
Can’t stop watching this video G. I’m 48 with a Bass Tracker 175 and seeing all these nice bass boats with 250 Mercs and Yamahas at the boat ramp and pass by my 17 year son and I while on the lake. I or we most of the time talk about how we wish we had and want one of those boats. I’m now just appreciative of what I do have. When it’s dark and I’m in the drivers seat saying I’m ready to go and my 17 yr old son is still on the bow casting, I realize and remember now why he’s casting, “thinking that next cast is the cast.” Next time on the lake I think I’ll just enjoy being able just to have a boat and fish and when it’s dark, I’m getting eat up by these Bama skeeters and I’m ready to go, maybe I’ll get back up on the deck and cast a few more times because that’s why I started fishing when I was young too. It’s the hope, heart, and determination that fishing brings out in us. Thank you for posting this G-Man.
Good morning, sir. I just started following you This video my partner and I used as motivation for our first high school fishing team tournament. We fish under THSBA. Our team's senior boat finished 1st out of 174 boats. My partner and I finished 11th. It was each of ours first ever bass tournament and this video echoed with us all day out on Lake Fork (10/01/22). I just wanted to say thank you for reinforcing and reminding us that fishing is more than just fishing. Fish on!
That lesson is just one thing I LOVE about God. God sends us His spirit (The Holy Spirit) ALL DAY, EVERYDAY to teach us a valuable lesson. We are the ones who don't listen (whether by choice or accident) nor take the time to acknowledge Him and honor Him. As a born again believer and DEVOTED man of God, I too fail to listen to Him as well. As the Men's director at my church, The Holy Spirit is always showing me things and teaching me things that I can use in devotionals, but I get so wrapped up in this busy world that I can 1,000,000% say I either miss His teaching or simply ignore it. GMan I would like to encourage you to really press in and see the WHOLE message God is trying to show you. I would agree with others comments about you taking that young man out for a day out on the water. I say that because God may have given that young man a deeper message for you, or God may use you as a message for that young man. This is the reason I'm encouraging you to press in to God. Thank you for sharing this video and your heart
You are so right. I just bought a skeeter strada f90. People talk shit about my little boat but I got it to take my seven year old boy , wife and 84 year old dad fishing. Now I have a broken back and fuzzed back but I thank God every day for the money he gave me to buy this little boat. He guided me to sell my bike to get it because I'm the one fishing like it's my last cast and it will be for dad sooner than later. Thank you God for the 35O0 dollars and that you G for the positive vibes. God is going to bless you in 23 you will win the big one. God bless you.
Scenes like that always make ya appreciate. Walk down and speak to the ol boy - almost certainly he knows your name. Will make his day and probably will yours too!
I needed this, it’s when it comes full circle and you realize how blessed you are and then you get to share it, that’s why we fish. Find that stoke again. God is good.
I saw a quote on a wall of a restaurant I believe that was tributed to Benjamin Franklin the other day that resonated with me and something along these lines that said a lot of people miss opportunity because it’s dressed in overalls and looks like work I read that several times as I was sitting there eating my food and for whatever reason it’s stuck in my brain and hasn’t gone away because of how true it is and I believe in what you’re saying that we should never take anything for granted and we should always just do our best and be grateful for what we have thanks G!
All the electronics can show and give us so much information . It takes us the good Lord to awaken and open our eyes to the countless blessings we are given . In that moment you recognized how hope and determination are so critical in fishing . We are all so blessed , we just have to stop and be more thankful sometimes . Great video GMAN . Good luck and God Bless us all , Amen Brother .
Awesome perspective! My father always told me when you feel like you are in the pits, just think about how someone else is more unfortunate than you are. People just need to open their eyes and look around. Once you see things like this, you don't know how good you really have it. God Bless that kid! He's a true fishing warrior. Thanks for sharing.
G , we need more Guys like you to remind us , God talks to ya, he tells ya, “ you are my creation and I’m for You always” ! People need messages like this. Thank G- Man.
PMA Fishing is a lot like life...Highs and lows...Ebbs and flows...but perspective like this is what WE ALL need. We get caught up in the Me,Me,Me world and G you just slapped me in the side of the head and for that I say THANK YOU...I needed that...
The sport that will teach you patience and perseverance ,& I am forever grateful for my Grandfathers and dad who took my when I most likely got on their nerves and they very well could have left me at home many times , but they made it a priority to take me and my brother every time !! May we never be ungrateful for the opportunity to enjoy Gods creations & blessings!! This one was reallllllllll Good G!! Thanks Hammer!!
Very cool Gerald. My Father tells me one of his favorite quotes is “Remember, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies." -Stephen King
Thank you for that. We all need reminding of what it’s about Im gonna wipe the tear off and get to work. Thank you lord for allowing me to earn a living today and go fishing when I can. God bless us all!!! Later G.
You have good & very humbling stories Gman. But none are more humbling, none will ever speak to me (and hopefully many others) more than the Clay Dyer story. You will never convince me that anybody on earth wants anything more than he does. If anybody needs some motivation, please look him up. He is the most inspiring person ive ever seen, and ive had the great pleasure of meeting him too.
G Man I've seen your fire coming up through the ranks, scratching and clawing to learn, get better and move forward. Been following some of my favorite old dudes from BASS and hey now I am one at 50 plus. Amazing story about how God gets our attention. Bringing up some young bucks to plant the fishing seeds and light a fire in them. And the Lord uses them regularly to help remind me to enjoy the experience, the fellowship and the moment instead of ruining it with expectations. Hats off brother you're the genuine article my man. Blessings
amen G!! I just got back from the Potomac after enjoying time with our wounded warriors in the PVA Capital Clash......it was a great weekend....I learned a lot from those men and women!
Your my favorite fisherman because your a good person first and foremost and guy who loves to fish second !! Keep doing what your doing ,your teaching us way more than fishing my man!!
That's right '' G '' -- most of us don't realize just how lucky we are. One day working as a substitute teacher during a huge recess I noticed there was this kid, the only one without arms, having just as much fun laughing and running around like all the other kids. Whenever I think of feeling sorry for myself I think of that kid and it works like a charm.
Gerald, next time you see that young man in a wheelchair on the dock, why not invite him to fish with you for the day? Think about the thrill that it would be for him, he would no doubt never forget it
Not gonna lie, this made me tear up alittle. We really dont know how good we have it sometimes until we see a glimpse of our former selves in others. Touching story, and changed my perspective on things as well.. i havent been catching them recently.
G, I can still my 10 year old self walking the banks at Hickory Creek here on Beaver. Casting a Hubbs Chub top water at every bush and stick up within casting distance. Then switching to a Fliptail worm and hitting the same bushes. Mom would drop me off about anytime I asked, and then come pick me at dark; she always had to wait for my "one more cast". Most days I wouldn't have a bite, but the anticipation of the next blow up on the Chubs or the tap, tap on the Fliptail, kept me going; fifty years ago. I don't have that same passion, but my grandson does, and my youngest son, now 8 year old, is getting there. You're right, keep the Passion. Passion for God, spouse, kids, life, work and hobbies. Passion, Hope & Love will carry you through a lot of adversity. Now I need to go wash my face, someone has been cutting onions around here,,,,
Aman GMan my wife and I have always felt very thankful that people like your self are around to help keep us humble. Its easy to be an Ariguat person thanking only about you
G Man I just watched this video and man I tell ya it put tears in my eyes.. Videos like this is way I respect you so very much. Never change who you are and never change on how you stand. God Bless You, G...
I just shared your video with my youth fishing club!! (San Joaquin Bassmasters) Always enjoy your style of keeping it REAL! There's something underneath all the glitz and glam, determination and hope!! We all need a reminder from time to time. Thanks for sharing yours! 👊👍
G just wanna say that was amazing and this is why in my opinion you are the best fisherman on the planet,I have followed your whole career and you always amaze me with how you are off the water more so than on it,keep doin you and changing people's lives, thanks for sharing this, your awesome👊🙏
Gerald your perspective on life is reality, and that my friend is what keeps it real for so many. There’s a bunch on your level that take it for granted and that’s not reality. You keep doing you and like I’ve told you in the past your already a winner and have been your entire career. You ain’t got a blue trophy YET!!!! But you got what other Elites don’t have…… reality. You have inspired soooo many and that is our lord Jesus Christs mission for you so don’t change it will happen brother.🙏🙏🙏👊
THIS is why I watch your videos. THIS is why I love to hear what you have to say. You have nailed it again and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for talking about this. I am 69 years old. I have been bass fishing for close to 40 years. Now tomorrow I am going to hook up my 21-foot Skeeter bass boat behind my 4x4 truck with all the fancy sonar and big Yamaha outboard and head to the Columbia River for some small mouth fishing, but this time I can assure you I will have a completely different outlook on things simply due to you. Mister Swindle you are, without a doubt, the best. Thank you.
I met that man a couple of weeks ago prefishing for the abt. One of the kindest men I have ever met and definitely thankful just to be sitting next to the water with a fishing pole.
The moral of the story, it doesn’t just mean fishing, it’s a story of life, keep it real and be grateful 😇… thank you G, may God bless you, take the man fishing with ya !!!
G this is why I follow you and Lulu! Your story about the lady at the chicken place right after you signed with Phoenix was a gut punch just like this. Keep it up brother. Y’all have your heart in the right spot!
Dude thats awesome man. Reminds me of myself at 33yrs how last few yrs for me I fish ALOT less. Got my jetski boat built to perfection and the beautiful delaware smallmouth river, yet in my later growth I have come to find that its not the fish im fishing for and sadly that has left me fishing MUCH less. But in this confusional growth pattern im moving through, im finding much higher things about life and its slowly trickling the hope back in, just in a higher format now and nothing will ever be the same. Gratitude to you my friend, for sharing the wisdom!
Whoa GMAN great words, people needed to hear that. And G, go talk to that man in the wheel chair, you will probably make a new friend and you may help that man in some way you may never know. God bless you and your family. Keep up the great work.
It's so easy to lose sight of the big picture and get lost in the details of fishing. Thankfully God uses moments like you described to remind us of what its all about. Happens to all of us. Thanks for the reminder this morning G, and God bless!
2 words that have been in my head since childhood.. I had my mom sew it on my fishin shirt..(because I was going to be a bass pro) I was 10 yrs old. I fished B.A.S.S. for 6 yrs against u G...and sewn on my shirt was the same 2 words.. Consistent Persistance... I just turned 60.. Thank u sir... T from Tn..
Love ya brother!! Never met you, but I see you enjoying what Mother Nature gives us.. good and bad! Humble is a heavy word for most these days. Thank you for this vid and thank you for all you do my man. LIFE IS GOOD!! Just some of them moments when your watching ol blue heroine fish patiently, or osprey flying the sky…. Once u stop and watch and talk to Mother Nature!! Man o man how many tappy taps come from that
You have a big heart brother !! That made me a better man already hearing you tell that story thanks I needed to hear that !! We all need a little humble pie every now and then to wake us up that’s god talking to us
I been mad as farr at you since you left bass to go to MLF! .......................After watching this video...............I aint mad at you no more!!! You just gave the lord an avenue to slap me up side the head, and I appreciate that!!! Welcome back to my life G. You are using your platform unselfishly! Thats what real men do!! Godly Men!!!
'G' great observation. Once again you have given this old man a fresh look on life. To say thank you seems small for what you have given me over the years.
Amen G the lords give us lessons all the time We just have to open our eyes to see them. Glad you are a man that has the faith and trust to see them. Your best video yet there is a whole lot in what you saw and said God Bless You and Your Family 🙏
Gerald a lot of preachers stood in the pulpit this weekend and never reached the level of that ! Followed your career along time bc a knew you are a CHRISTIAN MAN! That messaged touched me and I’m sure alot of other people also!! I’m overwhelmed right now i I comment! Keep on keeping on and keep on preaching! Love ya bro! 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
That's exactly what I needed to hear you are absolutely right last night as I was pulling my boat out of the water my power tilt and trim wouldn't raise my motor up it seized up and I messed with the switch and did everything I knew to do with minimal tools and lacking things I need to actually fix it and get my motor up so I can drive home needless to say I never got it up I had to drive 10 miles an hour with my flashers on what normally takes a half hour took me an hour and a half I didn't get home until after midnight I was so mad but you made me realize that there are a lot of people love to have a bass boat to be able to take and put on the water and stroll the banks flip a jig and do what they love to do but here I was cussing and kicking dirt mad is all get out so will God slapped you in the face slap me in well let me rephrase that slap you felt God gave you I felt it too thank you GMAN
Just luv that! Sometimes we forget in the hustle and busell of things what got us there when we were kids just loving fishing! Not worried about money or making the cut. Just fishing! Great moment G!
G- man you damn sure right my brother. I fish the same section of the river damn near everyday catch them some days some days don’t catch a breeze but I love fishing and that’s what my wife don’t understand it never gets old of throwing new baits casting new reels though I Love it keep striving my brother
G, seen you on Pickwick pre fishing the other day, wanted real bad to come shake your hand, but I knew you were working. Somehow I know God’s working on and through you life here recently. Remember, all you can ever carry with you when you leave this earth, is what you gave away! And it doesn’t have anything to do with money. I hope one day to meet you, if not, I’ll see you on the other side 😁👍
When you feel what a person says....that's powerful. I didn't just hear what you said....I felt it and it couldn't have come at a better time. Been a rough go for a while but that put things in perspective. Good stuff G!!!! love ya...mean it!!!!
You should take him out in the boat. That would make his day and year. Life lessons are the greatest when you slow down enough to see them. Love all your videos GMan
Take em fishin G
Not only make his day/year… it would probably make Gman’s day/year!
Then he won’t want to fish the dock anymore. Leave him alone.
Do it G!

Touching story, and changed my perspective on things as well.. i havent been catching them recently.
win, loose, or draw Swindle is one of my favorites of all time
Thanks G that really puts things into the proper prospective. We all take too much for granted and never look around and see how truly bless we are.
Now I need to go wash my face, someone has been cutting onions around here,,,,
God bless you G. This was real talk. God is good and when we get that tunnel vision we forget to thank him for the blessings in our lives.
(San Joaquin Bassmasters)
Always enjoy your style of keeping it REAL!
Having humility just makes you better at everything
“G” you are my hero, keep being you my friend. God bless you.
Sometimes you need a good slap in the face to remember what is really important in life. God, family and fishing. Great video Gman.
Really puts things in perspective. Brought me to tears, for sure. Thanks, G. YOU ROCK!!
G, your a speaker like no other. Great story. We met at Bass u in 09 in Philly and I’ll never forget your PMA seminar. Thank you for your drive!
Amen brother. It was a good reminder. Not only for fishing but life.
Well said sir. And thats why I have the utmost respect for you G, confident yet humble. Thank you.
Whoa GMAN great words, people needed to hear that. And G, go talk to that man in the wheel chair, you will probably make a new friend and you may help that man in some way you may never know. God bless you and your family. Keep up the great work.
Awesome video. That man upstairs can humble us pretty quick. We never know when I life lesson will hit us smack in the face.

'G' great observation. Once again you have given this old man a fresh look on life. To say thank you seems small for what you have given me over the years.
So So POWERFUL G Man! You have always been and will remain my fishing hero....
Amen G the lords give us lessons all the time We just have to open our eyes to see them. Glad you are a man that has the faith and trust to see them. Your best video yet there is a whole lot in what you saw and said God Bless You and Your Family 🙏
Thanks Gerald Swindle. This video helped me get redturmanted to fish with confidence and thankfulness and give back to others to spread the joy.
Thanks G for the story setting here with my Grand babies got choked up
Thanks G this is the reason I respect you as a person and a fisherman.
An awesome take! A great reminder of how far many us have come, simply because of passion and hope!
Always be grateful. Another great lesson from a great man.
Just luv that! Sometimes we forget in the hustle and busell of things what got us there when we were kids just loving fishing! Not worried about money or making the cut. Just fishing! Great moment G!
G, thank you! I needed that worst than bad! My eyes are watering, you, buddy, hit me in my guts!
Love it! Thank you for sharing this and what's on your mind! Stay Humble and Keep the Faith!!!!!!
Damn G, you just made this 62 year old hard ass shed a tear.
You hit the nail on the head. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
Puts it in a whole different perspective. Thanks G Man. You are the man
