"Thanks for comparing"...did you give him both lasers for free?

@1-Nice-Guy watch the beginning video in each series (GI60 and 80w) for full details on this. Short answer, neither laser was given to me for “free”.

How about deep relief engraving into titanium. I want to engrave knife scales and coated and uncoated super steels. I am researching what fiber laser to purchase. Thanks for the video series!

Thank you very much. I’ve never worked with titanium so I can’t say for sure. Basically you will be able to deep engrave titanium or other metals with pretty much any fiber laser. The main difference between power levels is going to be speed, how fast you’re able to complete the engraving. I’ve done 3d engraved coins on this fiber that take about 30-40 minutes to complete. With a 30w it will still work but it will take over an hour. I would say if you’re going to do a lot of deep engraving I’d at least get a 60w but 100w units are becoming more available and prices are coming down.

What rotary attachment is that? I haven't seen that style chuck yet

It’s just a regular 80mm rotary. I have an adapter installed on it from Etsy that allows tumblers and bottles I commonly use to just press or thread on. Check out my latest shop tour video, I show it and talk about it more there. Thanks for watching!

I do not understand why I hardly see anyone run enclosures on Chinese Fiber Lasers. You are basically trusting a company that has zero accountability to any standards or laws with your vision. I know that you can wear glasses, but very rarely do I see people do that. Remember, there is a reason why life, limb, or eyesight is a popular saying in medicine.

Definitely, I agree with you. I don’t remember if I mentioned this in this video or another one but not only do I wear safety glasses at all times, but I have a u-shaped plywood shield that I place on the laser bed when I’m running production jobs.
My latest galvo that I’ve purchased is a Thunder Aurora 8 UV. It comes with an enclosure and I love it.
Thanks for watching and for the comment.

Are there any reviews on these machines that aren’t by Chinese affiliate shills?

All I do is share my experiences, help people make a decision, and extend a discount I’ve been given if someone decides to go with Monport. I guess I’m an affiliate shill 👍
