It would be a dream signing. If we could get back to the standards in defence as we managed in 22/23, then if we hang on to Bruno, Gordon and Isak, then what a foundation.

And speaking of African power, I’d have Thomas Partey too if he wasn’t injury prone and Arsenal wanted to sell. He’s just incredible when he plays.
My view is Chris, Mark. If we want to mix it with the best, & ultimately aspire to be the best. This is the sort of player we should be trying to sign. The guys' Stat's dont lie. Cheer's lads for that video. i was aware of him. I just wasn't aware he was that good......

This is the defender I have been hoping that we bring in by any means. £80m is a hell of a lot but he has an incredibly high ceiling and would fit right into our team. An absolute tank, so here's hoping. 🙏

Centre back has to be the top priority. Other positions can be addressed later on.
another quality young cb would be an amazing addition getting Hall Liveramento Botman and him on the pitch together and getting them all on the same page could be priceless as we might get 10 years out of those 4 I love Schar and his ability to stay fit this season has been priceless but we can't look at him as a long term option I'd love us to find a goalkeeper we could get 10 years out of too an add him to the mix with our back 4 and let them develop their chemistry together. At the risk of sounding like a broken record though I still think a striker should be our top priority I was saying this last summer. Wilson and Isak will not stay fit all season and when we lose them we then lose gordon's best work as he's playing out of position. Thats where I see there being potential issues with this deal because we still need to improve in other positions too. Minteh looks like incredible business though.
Looks like an amazing young centre half, but just can't see us spending 80m on the lad, will that not just blow our budget on 1 player when we desperately need players in other areas rw, cf, gk, etc. This would also make a 20yr old the toon most expensive player ever, I'm just not so sure. Nice to dream tho 😁

You're right Chris. Wilson's great but his sick days are only gonna get higher in number as he gets past it. He's never gonna be our no1 again cos isak is world class. Time for him to find a new home with every Geordie's best wishes.

love the microphone you are using and Diomande would be a fabulous addition as we move towards winning the league, champions league and world club champions.
What we've needed for several seasons is a Creative Midfielder though.
What would be nice, is if NUFC could find these 20-year old gems before they're costing 80 million euros! Sporting signed Diomande from FC Midtjylland for 7.5 million. Last year! Shame the illustrious Ashworth didn't notice him when he was in Denmark scouting Minteh!

He would be a great Signing, to stop the goals leaking in, we need Pope fit and a top number 2 Keeper.
Or ideally Pope as the number 2 keeper. Pope is getting on a bit and even at his best is definitely not an elite keeper.

The kid looks like absolute quality. My only concern is how much do we have in the kitty to spend? Do we blow everything on him or take the other 2 on a free? I'm tempted to suggest trying to get numbers in each position rather than a big name. Our squad depth was shown up this year. We were so threadbare.
The kitty is a lot more than people are projecting...wait and see.
Also need to consider squad size, as we are limited on the number of players who can make the squad
Didn’t Howe just say in his last PC that Newcastle can’t go for ready made superstars? We simply can’t afford to shop in this market…. All these links are totally pointless….
I believe Howe said we need to be looking at young players like we did for Bruno and Isak. This sounds similar to me, very expensive though.
Botman, Diomande, Schär, and Burn sorts us at CB, but that’s a hefty price, given our constraints.

@@JTtoon1892 I couldn't get Scalvani, was asking for too much. I got Antonio Silva instead, and with Sebatian Coates and Sven Botman. I have a pretty stacked back line.
@@danrobinson902 Aye mate I had the same issue but managed to get him on loan with an obligation to buy with staggered payments! I got lucky I guess!
How amazing? 80m would make him the only signing of the summer, if he gets injured then what...? Can't see it happening when we only spent 45m on Sven, and likely need a striker to replace Wilson.
Hopefully an in depth analysis of his bank statements is undertaken to check for gambling activity.
