    Thanks for the ride and what a beautiful instrument panel. Looks like your Avionics match the price of your Plane.

    Just saw your last flight with the Mooney yesterday...and here you are flying a Beech Baron 58! Wow talk about an 'upgrade eh?.. Excellent! Hope to see many more 'adventures' in your B58!

    Gorgeous airplane - congratulations. Thanks for the video, it was very informative as well as entertaining. And yes, you did say Mooney as you departed the active. LOL

    Excellent job I enjoyed the ride nice approach. Only thing I questioned in my mind was you never mentioned the missed approach procedure. Just my thought.😉

      Your in luck…. I have another video where I not only talk about the missed approach procedure, but I fly it as well. ua-cam.com/video/kWj4pymyqN4/v-deo.html

    Instead of the camera looking at you, or get another one. Have one on the panel to your left with a close look at the PFD! During approach, you could then display that at the bottom right in a picture in picture for the between the seats camera. This lets us see the approach, and the information. Though don't have it block any of the panel. :)

    New sub. How do you do your audio? Looks like two of your cameras are plugged into intercom? I struggle with making that work in different planes. Yours sounds great.

      I’m recording the audio on the GoPro that faces me using a nflightcam audio cable.

    What is the purpose of the square glass in middle of the windshield??????

    • @RMAG
      @RMAG  2 роки тому +3

      It’s a hot plate. If your windshield ices up that square will remain clear and you can see outside it for landing.

    I came across your previous Mooney video and was then curious about your new plane. Obviously, the Baron can haul a lot more cargo, climbs faster, maybe travels a little bit faster, and is more robust against single engine failures, but I would be interested in your thought process that led to the upgrade. Isn't the Beechcraft much more expensive in terms of fixed cost and (for me) most importantly fuel burn? My suspicion is that you burn around 30gph, maybe even a bit more? Do you frequently have the higher payload need? Do you exceed the 1000nm range regularly, where the Mooney may have been tight considering the full tank load? Thanks.
    Your Mooney looked awesome. The new owner will really enjoy it.

      If you are looking for economy, you cannot beat a Mooney M20J. 160 knots cruise sipping 9.5 GPH Rich of Peak. I did not run it Lean of Peak because I had to sacrifice too much speed. The Baron however has plenty of excess power and I cruise the Baron Lean of Peak and burn about 25 GPH. 25 knots faster cruise than the Mooney. Yes it is more expensive fixed costs to maintain any twin vs any single. So economics obviously was not my reason to change. You already touched on some of the things a Baron does better. My #1 reason is that I need to build multi time in order to fly a jet. Secondarily, I did not fly the Mooney at night, in clouds in the winter (ice), or pick through a line of thunderstorms. All of these I can do in the Baron. It has the extra engine if one quits at night, I have full de-ice capability, and Radar to pick through a line of storms. I have a family of 6 that I can put in it for shorter flights or fly long distance with 4.

    Nice Plane!! Did your shop do the avionics upgrade?
    Guessing you're gonna update the 80's seats.

      I was looking for a plane that needed paint, interior, and avionics. I found one that needed paint and interior, and the avionics were very close to what I would’ve done.

    Why do people create these channels, make a few videos of them flying and then quit, is it just not worth the time?

    • @RMAG
      @RMAG  Рік тому +1

      It’s just because it’s a lot of effort to put all the cameras up, and then have a flight that is somewhat interesting to post, and spend hours of editing it. I also have a job and family that needs my time :). I have videoed flights that I didn’t think there was anything interesting enough to put on UA-cam about the flight. Sometimes I have flights that would’ve been great for UA-cam but I didn’t have the cameras on, etc.

      @@RMAG Thanks for the reply, individual aviation channels are becoming very rare so I was just curious, I understand the family time and how making these takes from that. Nice plane, hope to see you over delaware sometime!

      @@VetOnFire Airplane is currently down for annual, and interior, and paint. Maybe I’ll make some videos on that.
