5:15 Rivendell or Minas Tirith, please 🙏👌 By the way, great vídeo, as always! Love this battle reports! I am always learning a lot because I'm new to this game 🙂
Refering to the terrain topic: When it would be lotr compatible - id love me some Angmar themed terrain - winter, ruins, forrestts, evil or orcish architecture something :D
Terrain idea: - Halls of Khazad Dum. Large pillars and maybe a Balins Tomb. - Amon Hen ruins with some trees - Osgiliath type ruins My personal favorite: City streets, perhaps one of the tiers of Minas Tirith.
really enjoying the Troll brute paintjob! Do you happen to have a tutorial on painting it? Thinking of starting an Azogs Legion Army and really love the inspiration here:)
Great and brutal battle report mate, really unexpected dice rolls turned things into a bloodbath. Useful mini tactics to learn from as a new player, looking forward to the next game, cheers mate
I don't know if you are still reading comments from this video, but I wanted to say your terrain if awesome! Personally I would love to see some Mines of Moria terrain, like the bridge mentioned in that Dwarven tome Gandalf reads. That last stand of the Dwarves just ignites my imagination!
It Has prons and cons For example what is the point of taking gilgalad if every one will veto contest of generals etc? This topic is harder than you might think ;)
Awesome battle report. Got some eagles recently and trying to make them competitive. I know I can add a wizard which will help but looking for a bit more than that. Idea for a video in the future could be all the armies you labeled as underdog, tips and tricks maybe possible alliances that could get them into the good or top tier. Love your videos man!
Thanks for the comment! Eagles are great to ally in to basically any good army. If you want to go pure eagles just doing Gwahir and eagles is very strong but will take a lot of practice to get good with
I would love to see an 1.indoor mines set 2. Fantasy ruins (osiligath is the obvious, but there are lots of ruins in ME) 3. Forest set (trees, woodland debree ect) 4. The far east for after the lotr with gondor defeating the hold outs
LOTR compatible terrain for sure - Would love something maybe similar to the woods of Lothlorien or perhaps the Shire and its forests, but for something darker - fortress of Dol Guldur vibes would do
Ouch! Nothing really that could stop Boromir in that list - and a very well played Boromir too, going to the centre and ignoring the 5 guys on back objectives to really seal the deal and deny the flank.
Great battle report, I am currently building a Gundabad force myself, but I feel at 500pts, good factions just have so many good hero options and I think you need someone like a foot Azog or Bolg, however the troll is hella fun! so I get why you used it.
I was trying to play an unexpected version of Gundabad. At 500 its super hard to get the troll and Azog or Bolg in and I really wanted to take the troll because it so fun. I actually played a version of this army at a tournament but swapped out one of the captains for the Keeper of the Dungeons and added in a castellan of Dol Guldur and I think it worked a lot better
@@ConquestCreations sounds great Jacob, I really enjoy your reports and it's clear your videos are getting better each time. Look forward to the next one.
The gundabad list would maybe play better with the brutes points in warbats? 4 war bats would have made gondor more conservative in its movements. Not sure how the bats would have worked with your warrior slots but its an idea for next time.
Around the 14:30 mark, the troll brute fails to wound so stops on that model, but then continues to wrap into another model..would be not stop right there? The wording says the troll brute stops exactly like a charging model?
Great comment. You are totally correct. This was something that I noticed while editing but it was to late to do anything about. What I should have done is simultaneously charged both models
I think Dale would be pretty epic and I don't think it has been covered yet. There's already lots of Osgiliath, Minas Tirith, Khazad Dum and Rohan terrain from both GW and non GW sources. Also there is a pretty decent amount of elf looking stl terrain. I don't see that many Bree Land (although more generic I guess), hobbiton (with water mills, crops, bridges) or evil related stuff (Minas Morgul, Angmar, Mordor locations such as Mount Doom or Black Gate, Gundabad, expand on Dol Guldur with various levels etc). To a lesser extent, Grey Heavens port, Ithilien (waterfalls), Erebor or Helm's Deep caverns.
The shop is a licenced seller of the product. It is likely that they are building up their stock. Maybe try sending them an email and seeing if they have some stock for you
I was probably just making a joke. A lot of context gets cut out in these vids. I quite often like to rile up my opponents/mates with pedantic things like that I have no intention of enforcing. Can’t say if this was one of those but I feel like it was
At 450 I would recomend the Witch King Sauron would take up a massive protion of your points. I would recomend the Crown of Morgul, 3 might, 3 fate, and a horse
@@ConquestCreations i would highly contest that, seeing as Underworlds and Kill Team are a thing. But compared to the big games, I can totally see that. Those are godawful and Lotr is definitely quite the step above it. I would like to know what the skill is though. I get that positioning plays a major role but everything else seems purely luck based.
Before saying that the game is just luck I would recommend understanding it a bit better. I would recommend checking out some of the more videos in the series. If I watched a single battle report of Kill Team and said "It's just luck" I wouldn't have a valid opinion. Everything that you do in the game is about maximising your probabilities. For example in a 1 on 1 fight between two orcs the winner will just be the one who rolls higher. However if you have a banner and a higher fight spearmen now you are rolling 3 dice to their 1 and winning if the dice roll is a draw which drastically maximises your odds of winning. This is a very basic example of a plethora of tactics. The Troll brute is a very unusual and admittedly luck dependant model but it is one of the only units in the game that has the hit on the charge mechanic.
@@ConquestCreations oh yeah, after one video that would absolutely not be valid, I agree. I have watched several of these by now. Thing is that I have bought into the game due to my love for the license and played several round now. Of course all that does not make me an expert by any means and I get the point about maximising odds. But that doesn't change the fact that you're still almost entirely reliant on luck, you can just slightly modify it. If you're not rolling 6s on the wound rolls and your opponent gets more lucky, you're still gonna lose. That entire concept just feels so outdated in comparison to modern games or rather non-GW games if you so will. That being said, I have mostly seen and played kill based scenarios. Maybe this game shines in more narrative or objective based scenarios. Will have to check those out.
@@Son0fAggression I think you have most likely missed a lot of the basics of the game unfortunately, luck is a component of all dice games however in Middle Earth it is the smallest of all the games i have played (40k, Necormunda, Kill Team, AoS, Warcry, Epic 40k). To say that this game is entirely reliant on luck is simply false. If that has been your experience from watching the video I would suggest there are some fundamentals that you aren't understanding. The basic is yes rolling 6's is important. But if you roll 10 dice and I only roll 1 your chance of getting a 6 is astronomically higher. On top of that you have a large degree of control over the luck by using resources such as might. If I roll a 3 high on my 3 attack hero I can choose to spend might points to modify it to a 6.
Boromir is just a machine blasting through anything you put in his way
If only he kept his shield on him, The Fellowship of the Ring would have had a very different ending.
Henry is just proving everyone wrong about the banner of Minas Tirith

Am i missing something, the Gondor army doesnt have a banner in the list, but on the table it does?
Where's the other sale game? The final is up as well as round 1 but no round 2
I've never seen Elf based architecture in LotR. Lothlorien or Rivendel is my vote!

Great BR. Love this channel. Thanks for these competitive games, I'm learning a lot. I've got a question Isn't MT army over 500 points?
Can you charge the troll and still move? if he stopped on one, he should not be able to move charge another
This is the Troll Brute he has a special rule that when he charges he inflicts a strength 10 hit and if he kill his opponent he continues to move
@@ConquestCreations he means the wrap-around that you did after failing to kill (which you indeed can't do).

I thought only one hero per phase could do a heroic action? Or can you call two heroic moves in your turn?

You can only call one heroic action per phase with each hero.
