I love nappa leather!
Working with Petra now and she has the patience of a saint! I’ve made several changes to my custom as well. I have JL black outside and Mare inside!
I’m glad it was wrapped in plastic. I saw a video this morning of a Gillio received that had been wet, soaked, and molded during transit. Plastic would have prevented that 😥. So sorry your VDS didn’t work out as anticipated.
Thank you for watching. So true. I heard that Gillio went plastic free to help the environment. Not a lot of comfort for the owner of that planner in your video. I think they should wrap in plastic too.
Quasi Thoughts It was Planner Mumsy ( I think) if you watch you can go through all the emotions with her.
Don’t worry about the top little flap of leather that folds over for stitching if they get bent or love because it shouldn’t cause any issue.
Is it a fabric or leather on the interior of the card pockets and slip pockets? In the VDS I rented recently had fabric inside the pockets.
Did you get stabilizer added?
Thanks for the reassurance!! That is my plan. It is a fabric on the secretarial and card pockets. The back pocket is a thin pleather feeling material.
Gorgeous planner stack! Can I know how do you feel about the Nappa leather? Is it more likely to feel gillio epoca? I really love the swedish blue in VDS and epoca feeling in gillio.I'm afaid that it feels like Touch Me leather,I don't like that... TIA!
It is softer than Epoca. More like butter leather. Epoca is closer to Janet leather. However I do really like both types and Nappa is pretty robust while JL shows everything. Thanks for watching.
@@quasithoughts1040 Thanks for sharing! Hope I can get one in this summer!
I’ve ordered 2 B6 covers from VDS, and they have a B6 codex cover. You may already know this, but I thought I’d mention it just in case. I went the opposite as you, I had mine heightened and widened to accommodate the B6 with a vinyl cover. But, my first B6 codex was not adjusted for height/width and it fits the B6 Stalogy perfectly without a vinyl cover.
True, I probably should have started with their codex rather than their ring planners. 🤣 steep learning curve for sure. Thank you for your comment and watching 💜
Quasi Thoughts trust me, I get the learning part, but mine is with fountain pens 😂😂😂
I would trim down the back cover of the notebook before I would do anything to the leather.
Just wondering if you ended up being happy with the secretarial pocket or not… if not was there any particular reason? Just trying to gather as many opinions as I can before I take the plunge & place a custom order b/c it will definitely be a splurge item for me. The idea of being able to custom design the perfect planner is both exhilarating & absolutely terrifying LOL!!….. so I definitely welcome any & all feedback!!
Thank you for watching. I like secretarial pockets, but they aren’t make for break for me. Good luck with your custom!! It’s worth it 💜
I feel your struggle. That's one reason I'm afraid to dive into notebooks-i would need a perfect cover for them, and it will result in a lot of spending.
Did you deringed your gillio? I bought a Moterm for that.
I have deringed 2 moterms, 1 Gillio, and 3 malden’s. I bought this Gillio already deringed. It is actually very easy to find good notebook covers, especially if you like an elastic closure. 🤣
I really am!! It’s quite terrible. But I’ve started just customing the covers I want...so future binders are safer 🤣😜
@@quasithoughts1040 I found a company that makes cheaper binders, but didn't order anything. Also, as far as I know, Moterm is pretty open, just it takes time for them to do it.
I agree about Moterm, I think they are going to grow into something more than they currently are. And they are so easy to work with.
Since you have VDS, Gillio, & Moterm _ all which kinda looks similar in design - is the price difference worth it? I have never purchased VDS & Gillio so I can’t compare. I guess I am asking are the higher end covers worth the price and if so, why?
That is a great question!! And way longer than I can answer in a comment (Maybe a future video), in short its a personal preference and a finance thing. If you can afford it, I think you will find value and luxury in a VDS or Gillio. Are they necessary, no. Moterm makes an amazing value for money planner. I would join some Facebook groups and get a better feel for what their fans say about the planners. And then let your budget and personal taste guide you.
Did you add stiffener to this customized order?
I didn’t request anything inside, but I do think it came with something.
That colour is gorgeous 😍
Thank you!!
