- Correspondent Mo Rocca talks with Academy Award-nominated actress June Squibb who, at age 94, is playing her first leading film role in the comedy "Thelma," about a grandmother who seeks revenge against a scam artist. There are even chase scenes (on scooters)! Rocca also talks with the film's writer-director, Josh Margolin, and his gritty and tenacious grandmother, Thelma Post, who at 103 inspired the tale of a woman fighting for what's hers.

June Squibb is a treasure. If you haven't seen Nebraska -- she was nommed for an AA for her work in it -- do so. You'll love her as that crusty older wife and mother.
Well done, June. Now get Maggie Smith to be Louise and you have a Grumpy Old Ladies franchise!
😂
I would see that!!
I don’t think I stopped smiling once during the past 6 and a half minutes. This is inspirational on so many levels. June seems like a wonderful person, as does the “real” Thelma. 94? 103?!? Love it!
I'm 81. Feel like a kid!
6/23/24: I go to great lengths to see “Sunday Morning”! It’s segments like the June Squibb piece that make me so glad! What a gal! A charmer!
We lose so much talent when a person reaches the age of 65 and retires. And we have a preconceived idea of how they are suppose to live. Great interview.
June I’m so happy for you and me that you’re still entertaining us ❤
What a beautiful and talented soul.
She's marvelous!
That’s Meemaw!!! ❤
I love her!
Saw Thelma. Highly recommended. Very thought provoking.
She is absolutely right ,why should she care ,she has earn her place in life already !
I heard a review of the film just today on NPR on my car radio. The reviewer loved it and is very happy with the lead performances.
This happened to my family one day - a call from one of the nieces who said all her money was stolen and she was stuck in England. Nobody sent any money after calling her to find she was not robbed, but the thing of it was a heart-stopping moment because that young woman _was_ in London at that time. Maybe the scammers got the info from her Facebook account?
What a fun interview with June Squibb and i wasn't going to watch Sunday Morning i'm glad i did.
I'm going back to June Squibb Wikipedia she is an Illinois girl.
June Squibb as a New Jersey leprechaun that drinks blood i can't wait.
Dexter Lombardo 🤠🧔
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
It's great seeing Bruce Dern still working. 🎉
😢🎉❤ this was beautiful 🤩 especially the two older gals 💞 meeting for the first time 😉❤🤗😘
She's lovely.
How amazing. 💕🌟
Thanks for sharing the tough side of us old people, June!
Incredible
Loved her in Nebraska and loved the movie Thelma!
I love June Squibb I am grandma and I think she is absolutely adorable. ❤
Yes she was great in the film & so wonderful to see the gorgeous Richard Roundtree.
I was frustrated by too many scenes with the neurotic mother. I felt it was over the top, so therefore not enough time spent on the actual confrontation with the scammers. You were waiting for that, from the long build up, but it was over too quickly. I was amazed to find out the age of June Swibb!
Score 4 out of 5 for me.
I ❤ the movie!
Woohoo!!!
✨✨✨✨✨⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
When you get older, you don't care what others (besides the ones you love) think of you. I've gotten a little more sarcastic in a funny way.
Ah our new sassy, and crass with class, Betty white
How can you not love her? June's such an icon.
A lot of grandmas have gotten this call. Kudos to the writer that made a whole movie around it.
June Squibb, you are awesome. Wishing you continued blessings and success for many more years to come.
What a delightful interview! Thank you!
What an awesome woman!! Go June!
No matter how many time I see the grave yard scene in Nebraska, it never fails to make me laugh. You missed out Keith😂
Watching the 103 yr old lady jump up to greet the 94 yr old actress - thank you! Don’t see that every day!
Aging is such an individual thing isn’t it.
Can I just say she is adorable!
I saw Thelma and it's a great movie. I hope Ms Sqibb is nominated and gets the Oscar fir Thelma. I hope seniors go and see this movie because it's a charmer, it's funny and realistic about aging.
Just saw it. One can just fall in love with the 😊characters. Realistic that any of this could happen in the real world. Not so much.
I just saw this lovely gem of a movie yesterday with some friends. One of the best films I've seen in a while. June Squibb was marvelous as was the late Richard Roundtree.
It's Meemaw from The Big Bang Theory!
I came here to say that. Great minds....😏😌
The original Meemaw before she got recast
Love love love this!❤️
This is a fantastic movie. This director is going places, his writing and directing are brilliant. The actors were so good as well, believable and so funny. Also, the editing, made it really just a perfect film.
So many people get these scam calls. It's time we make people aware!!! I try every day to warn people about scams.
I hope to see Thelma. Jane Squibb's performance looks so funny.
Love her!!! Blessings!!!
June Squibb: National Treasure!
It looks great and both those grandma’s are awesome and adorable.
94. Inspirational.
I saw Thelma yesterday and I was a delight!
I love June and I love her in Thelma.
Imagine if she appeared in more movies back in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, that would've been splendid. For example, she would've appeared in "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" in 1963.
A delight lady.
You have a new fan here!
Why are we ignoring how great June was in Hubie Halloween?
This was so funny, heartwarming, timely, relevant, and wonderful. We need more films like this. I enjoyed it and June Squibb has really inspired me!
Mo and June and Thelma? Christmas in July!🎉🎉🎉
I just saw this movie. It was pretty darn good! It was cute, the plot was really good, I think this is a movie for everyone! And of course, the acting was great.
This was just so lovely.
Thank you for not mentioning that she had a cameo in that unnecessary abominable remake of Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead
Wow Moe Rocca actually has a real journalism job on CBS?
Remember when she did a few lines in that one Pixar film? Those were the days....
Loved her in ghost whisperer
Dear old lady 🥰❤ just my dear grandma like herr ❤
She's the best! Never assume age means unable❤
Can't wait to see this movie!!
I loved Nebraska!
What an amazing human being.
Would you rather?
I saw the movie and I couldn't stop laughing. She did a fantastic job and it shows a huge problem, not only for senior citizens, but for all of us. Getting scammed and how easy it can happen to any of us. When the character mentioned she was in her 90s I had to look up June's age cause she didn't look like she was in her 90s. I thought 80s. It was a wonderful movie that I highly recommend.
She also played Jack Nicholson’s wife in About Schmidt one of my favorite movies.
this was a delight. and mo rocca is looking exceptionally fresh and handsome in this segment.
Love this.Keep on going June.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
She did a great job acting on "Mom" TV show spot😂😂😂
We saw the movie yesterday and enjoyed it, but how did Ben get outside ahead of her when he was left behind inside? And where did she transfer the money *to*?
She only had a couple of lines, but I loved her in the film "In & Out," too!
Can't wait to see this!
Meemaw!!!!
❤❤❤
Are you afraid of dying? We all have eternal life. The question is where will you spend it. Jesus died on the cross for you. He who hears my word (JESUS) and believes in Him (GOD) who sent me will have eternal life! He will not be condemned, he has crossed over from death to life. John 5:24
