    you have me taking more notes than I ever did at school! Do you have any advise or the truth of dresses with leg split? do they look as amazing while walking around? or will it make you feel more unconfortable after a while?

      Love this! Thank you! Comfort level is personal. I personally don't see any cons to having a slit because you are more comfortable on mobility of being able to move freely.

      Thank you! I'm still losing weight tummy is coming just fine should be even slimmer by 4/25/22! I recently tried on my sample and it fit perfectly more so than my own dress!🤔 this sample dress had boning and bust cups! Should I wait until December or January DB's is very busy

      Thank you! It's an older top and I don't even remember where I got it from.

    I went for my second appointment and it still doesn't fit perfectly. My fitnflare dress scrunches around my belly. I love it from the back but I really hope they get the folds out of it until my next appointment. I'm so worried if it won't be flat and I wonder if it is because of my body shape. I have quite wide hips and an hourglass shape. My upper body is a bit shorter, so I wonder if that happens because of my short torso. They just took it in from the back and hemmed it from the bottom. I will absolutely follow your advice and be patient and hope for the best. I hope you have some advice on this.🙈

    Unless it’s a couture gown. Mine took over 27 measurements and when it came in, my bust was a little too tight. Then I had to pay over $1200 for extra alterations when the dress cost me $12,000.. I did go with the best lady and it came out perfect. They made it better then I imagined.

      Hi April! Thank you for your comment! We've done custom measurements in the past as well and very similar to what you described. If you do custom measurements or order a standard size the price of alterations doesn't typically change by much. Thank you for sharing for other brides to read your comment! SUPER helpful! :)

    I found my dress just didn’t love the side slit. It folds over so it easily stays closed but I really would’ve liked a straight skirt, can it be sewn completely closed and look normal??

    • @WeddingFashionExpert
      @WeddingFashionExpert  6 місяців тому +1

      Based on how you've described it - I think you should easily be able to close the slit. Of course, a seam will remain - often times it looks as if it's part of the design. I would ask your stylist what they recommend. If the dress should be ordered with the slit closed, if the designer makes those changes, or if it should be done in alterations once the gown arrives. Hope this helps and good luck!! Wishing you a remarkable wedding day!!

    My first alterations appointment is next week. I’m a little nervous. I really hate bustles and I have a train that I love and would want in photos. Any suggestions on what to do?!

    • @WeddingFashionExpert

      You're not alone! A lot of brides feel this way! Here's the good news - by the time you bustle your dress it's time to party! All the important photos have already been taken and it is pure functionality so you can move around, greet, and dance with your guests! Majority of photos with your guests at the reception is all from the front and waist up. Don't get SO fixated on the design of the bustle. Think functionality and comfort to be able to move around freely. If you are really not a fan of a bustle and can't get past the visual I recommend another dress to dance in so you don't even have to think about a bustle! One last thing to consider in your alteration process... look at the big picture. When you look in the mirror don't dissect each detail separately look at the entire vision of you in your dress. I even recommend taking a step back away from the mirror and closing your eyes + reopening them to re-set. Sometimes we get hyper focused on the small stuff and it stresses us out for no reason! Let me know how it goes! I know it'll be great! :) Always here for you!

      @@WeddingFashionExpert update: first off thank you SO much for your reply it really helped ease my mind on the hour and a half drive to my alterations appointment! I got there and it went EXCEPTIONALLY well! I’ve been losing weight and we ended up having to take 1.5” off both sides and take in some in the hips/leg area. She created a 7 point bustle for me and my goodness it was beautiful! She’s talented no doubt! I definitely made up my mind prior to get a bustle anyways due to your comment about it just being functional not necessarily cute but I think I might’ve just got both! Thanks so much for your help & support. I really appreciate it 🤍

      So this is an old post that already had a resolution, but I also wanted to add for future reference, depending on your dress, they may be able to attach an arm loop instead of a bustle. That’s what was offered for my dress. I declined a bustle and the loop since my train really doesn’t need it, but it is a darling look and possibly another option if you don’t like bustles

    I would love a video on people that worry about the bra situation with their dresses. Because I'm really worried about not wearing a bra with my wedding dress that I'm waiting for to come in in my size. I don't know how the alterations etc are gonna make my girls feel supported enough

      Your seamstress can sew pads or your bra into the dress! You'll be good once it's been altered!
