It’s not ridiculous when Islam said you need to know English to be a superstar in this sport when you’re from a different culture. Idk why they laughed that off. Being able to communicate by yourself to the UFC audience is crucial when you want to display your charisma in a sport that values personas. Translators simply cannot transfer your energy to the audience.

As someone that picks up english as 2nd language myself, i think islam is doing a decent job. Good enough to TRY to express himself. I do foresee instances where people misunderstand him though. Same as khabib.

We hang on their every word and they seem to effortlessly get us invested in their next fight, including the haters. What Charles has accomplished lately is incredible and worthy of being celebrated but somehow I just could not care less, and I think that must be because I have no sense of who he is as a person due to the language barrier.
