I am a 12th grade student in Bangladesh and there are hardly any days when I'm not thinking about Godard. Thank God he is alive...he's a real inspiration for many generations. I have started learning french because of him. Thanks for this real gem. Merci beaucoup.

There is a scene in his unofficial biopic Goddard Mon Amor, where a youth comes and says the very same thing to him.. Goddard humiliates the guy and tells him to go away. Co incidentally it was the same guy who eventually made the film. He said it was a turning point in his life where he stopped idolising people and be his own man and master.

Good ol' Godard. He's been directing movies since the 60s when dramas like Breathless and Contempt were taking the world by storm. Now he's directing movies like The Image Book and Goodbye to Language. At this rate, he'll still be churning out classics at 100.

A classically eccentric utterance from Godard. It's ironic given Godard's suggestion that so much archaeological and cultural heritage in Iraq was scattered and destroyed in the wake of the American invasion and occupation of the country.

PHONEE! INTERVIEWER TALKS TOO FAST. GODARD IS A ZOMBIE. IT'S LIKE CPR. I HOPE THEY GAVE THE OLD MAN GOOD CIGAR MONEY. HE WON'T TAKE IT WITH HIM.
There are segments especially around the 58:00 mark where the interviewer gets carried away with desceibing social media “👎🏻” or “👍🏻” within a much larger point, and Godard just glazes over all that because he does not understand the context used. However, there are plenty of lucid moments when Godard still shines. Especially when he reflects on his current state and the effects of aging. I wonder if he still used little notebooks as scripts. I’m glad this interview was conducted before he passed.
Il est si facile de se morfondre dans sa tristesse en disant, quel poète, quel homme... c'était surtout un tyran d'une mauvaise foi épouvantable. La sagesse était peut être devenue sa seule qualité, mais avec l'âge seulement. Un tel personnage ne mérite pas tous ces hommages mais c'est bien connu : les vilains sont toujours adorés par les gens !
Eh oui c'est vous qui décidez qui sont les bons et les méchants moi j'ai beaucoup aimé sa liberté son indépendance j'en ai eu besoin quand je ne supportais pas d 'être au milieu de la jeunesse des années 80. Je suis bien d' accord mais je ne m'ennuyais pas comme en regardant les films de Truffaut avec ses comédiens qui jouent faux !
