Whenever I can't decide what to play, the answer is Compound. The projectile based gunplay is just so satisfying, the guns require just enough interaction and the variety is great. I wish there were more enemy behaviors and variations in level design but I keep coming back
I bought Compound yesterday, and the game is fantastic. Not only is the gunplay the perfect balance where it’s not oversimplified but not H3VR levels of realistic, but it also runs ridiculously well and takes up only half a gigabyte of storage on my PC. Something I’ve never seen from a 3d video game in a very long time, let alone a VR title
I’m getting a vague “zero tolerance“ vibe from this. The almost robotic look of the enemies and the way you get on an elevator each time you clear a level.
My BF is a big fan, watched quite a few of your videos. He loves how you get invested in the game's storyline and characters and even decided to get into PC gaming and VR because of your Half Life: Alyx videos and even wants to join you in a round of Demeo.
God, I saw compound and immediately turned to this video. I remember node playing this years ago and it got me into this game. I never looked back and hope that the quest 2 version comes soon so I can take it on the go and share it with anyone and everyone about this awesome roguelite game. Also, the difficulty adjustments also add additional bosses per stage. I believe medium adds the rocketman boss in the warehouse level, and hard adds the rat king boss in the sewer levels.

This is like my... plug and play comfort VR game. I love it, and I'm glad to see it getting some attention because it just feels like it flies under the radar of people. Same for "Ancient Dungeon VR". Edit: Bro I legitimately NEVER knew you could pick up the bodies of the enemies you defeat.
In case it was missed the sign next to the shower in the beginning said: "genome repair shower removes mutations, due to rationing, showers longer than 8 seconds will result in eviction and/or communal beatings"
Another great rouge lite shouter is hot dogs horseshoes and hand grenades, I don't really know what to say about it but i have 245 hours in it and have toughly enjoyed all of them.
There is a Hotdogs Horseshoes and Handgrenades poster in the shooting range in Compound, you can see it up on the wall in this video. Agreed though, H3 is among what I consider the pinnacle of VR games period and take and hold is way more intense than the premise would seem to allow.
Wow this looks amazing... ever since i played Dead Drop Duel Strike i was a fan of oldschool style shooters in VR. Stuff like House of the Dead and Wolfenstein in VR looks and feels amazing to interact with. I remember before i had hands on with the tech, i thought "old games must be headach inducing, vomit sims" but no... not at all, they're just nostalgic af and awesome!
Also, while old schooler is fun to have the ability to use all of the weapons, the original gives more challenge because you're limited to two weapons (three if you juggle and dual wield) and it is all based on random chance. Also, unlocking weapons through your playthroughs to use is absolutely fulfilling.
The style that I'm looking at right now reminds me of Mega Man legends on the PS1 I would love to see a VR version redone and remastered for VR and Oculus Quest VR it would be a dream come true as Mega Man Legends is literally the most underrated Mega Man game of them all but damn the style just keeps reminding me of how that game used to look.
Been playing and loving this game since early access days. I wouldn't call the style "16-bit" though - after all, early 32-bit games looked very much like this, especially on the SEGA Saturn (remember Virtua Cop?).
I played through this game, and hands down Oldschooler mutation is the best. Gives me some Doom and Half-Life shooter vibes (obviously without the puzzle solving though)

It’s boneworks for me
When’s it coming for Quest?
Exactly the same for me. It makes me feel like Im in a movie
1
It's deserving of a sequel
Compound is underrated
Compound is my favorite VR game and p much game in general, so happy to see a video abt such a niche and fun game

The beauty of not having 4k textures
I’m getting a vague “zero tolerance“ vibe from this. The almost robotic look of the enemies and the way you get on an elevator each time you clear a level.
Zero tolerance was absolutely amazing
@@user-zn5zr2ed3x yes.
the super low poly pixel art is what sells me on this.
been playing since beta, this dev is great and actually delivered a good vr game
This is like Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold on steroids
Oh 16bit retro graphic in VR. Now it makes sense.
one of the best VR games ever made. a must buy
The next huge VR game is gonna be a cooking sim with extremely good physics.
Best of its kind, one of the best VR games period
Found this today on Quest and blindly downloaded in pursuit of a simple and fun shooter. I was certainly not disappointed
"can I duck? is there a duck button" he says while playing a VR game

This has come a long way since I played the first demo years ago and it looks AWESOME!
It's VR...Blake Stone.
Holy Christ.
I love the style.
You definitely should do more of this one. Love the graphical style and gameplay.

'Tight, Tight, Tight! Blue, Yellow, Pink. Whatever man, just keep bringing me that'
Man, i love this game, it's so charming
Jeese wolf you have been pumping out vids thank you!
Compound is so dope 🔥. It’s a tough game, but is very fun.

Mythic legends: *Yes I just totally crushed that guy*
Artstyle is A1
The best looking rouge-lite VR strand type game I've ever seen
I like your choice of intro music and commentary style. Never heard of you before now, subcribed

reminds me of chexman.
Who remembers Lucille
Me
Gawd, I want this to be a stand alone for the Quest 2
Enemies seem to have less health on easy mode. stuff did not die that easy last time I played
glad to see compoud getting some love
would love to see you come back and play this on medium at some point in the future. its one hell of a challenge to put it mildly.
This looks like a game that pyrocynical would make a 2 hour video on
Dang I remember when this game looked like a Wolfenstein 3D clone, it's come so far since then.
Bought this after being burned out of vr for a while and was glued to my oculus until the battery was drained. Trust me, buy it.
I love the “hey man” *shoots twice* “hi” * shoots three more times
In case it was missed the sign next to the shower in the beginning said: "genome repair shower removes mutations, due to rationing, showers longer than 8 seconds will result in eviction and/or communal beatings"
This gives me old school doom vibes.
Oh man ive been hoping for something like this for my Quest! I can do SteamVR, thats fine. Thanks for showing us!
I played compound but I'm 5,3 so from this guy perspective it's like he above everything.
Oh I LOVE the look of this game! I cant wait for it to come to quest

I feel like he is going on a 16 bit craze
At first I thought this was just really poor quality on the video then I realized it was just 8-bit
Wolf liking the 16 bit and so do we

6:11 He sounds like "The Blind Man" from "Don't Breathe" XD
so happy that this is coming to the quest
that art style is the bomb🤩
Duke Nukem VR that has a lot of wild things in it (not just shooting guns), would be fun
I'd really love to see more of this game
My Grandpa would've loved this game.
this is my favorite art style
Wolf PLEASE play a mortuary assistant VR!!! 😭😭 love your vids btw!!!!

these grafics work really well in vr !
Bruh the guy snoozing 19:11
Love compound but I’m having trouble storing weapons. What button is it to store them?
One vaccine for the price of two? You would really take that? Double price? Or was that sarcasm that went over my head?

Absolutely fantastic game. I'm pulling about 100 hours in it already.
this game looks very nice; very well done. The start in the apartment reminds me on the old game Normality
finally a video that is not bloody or scary, not counting minorily bloody ones
I need more compound! :D
You sound like the type of guy to say "nice hiss" when you pop the top off your enemies
lol at the end he bottle flip the milk glass
This looks awesome!!

YOU LIKE HALF-LIFE?! NICE!
Oh boy ... I´m just having *major* Blake Stone flashbacks ...

Good Good! But now we need a VR game with Risk of rain's item system!
That was fun!
This man wastes no time at all getting videos up quick
