I have owned the 6.5 in Carbon Fiber for over a year and absolutely love this gun. I have shot over 300 rounds thru it and its as accurate as the day I bought it. I waited several months to get my hands on it and it was worth every waiting day!!!
Another great thing about the Waypoint is that it's now available in even more calibers; 7mm PRC, 300 PRC, 300 Win Mag, 30-06, 270 Rem, 6.8 Western etc.
Just a comment here for ANYONE who come to this. The 6.5 PRC has MAJOR feeding/extracting issues with the supplied metal mag. AMend2 makes a poly mag ~$30 that will solve the issue. This issue seems to only effect this specific caliber on some models. Hope this helps.
Just ordered one today it will be in next week I chose 6.5 Creed Moore In evergreen with the carbon fiber barrel I haven't been this excited since I purchased my 338 Lapua
Can the barrel be replaced in the future? I read somewhere you can not change it and 6.5 prc shortens barrel life so when you meed to replace the barrel you cant. Any input?
These rifles are cool, but I wish every rifle manufacture would charge and extra $20 for their rifles. The extra $20 will cover the quality control and accuracy test.
Steve sure stuttered a lot. He seemed to stumble through the information on his rifles as well. I think I knew more about the Waypoint than he did and I’m just an owner. I love the Springfield Waypoint. It is my favorite rifle.
;-) To his defend I think he work on a different department, we came by Springfield booth many times for an interview and as I remembered it the right guy for this product was always busy elsewhere, so Steve took the interview. Glad you like your rifle, I am VERY eager to get on and I hope the will be someone who can distribute them here in Sweden. It feels super nice. Do you have the one with or without adjustable comb?Any inputs on that part? Normally I always have adjustable comb, but I have seen some reviews that says that the waypoint from scratch is high enough to align a low mounted scope, as I want to save some weight I consider to go for the one without the adjustable comb. Regards, Tobias
@@RedMooseHunting I have the non-adjustable stock and it is fine. If you mount your scope low, the stock is high enough for a good cheek weld. The adjustable stock also adds money and weight. So I opted not to get one, and I do not regret it. I am using the Vortex Gen 3 LHT 4 x 22 Razor on my Waypoint, so it is a really light weight setup.
;-) Yeah, one way to see it... if only consider the legacy of the .30-06 Me myself would gladly buy this rifle if it was available in Sweden, but not in .30-06 Thanks for your comment, stay safe! //Tobias
After buying this rifle I have no told myself I would never buy another Springfield product. Day one out of the box it has to be mailed back to Springfield due to it not holding a group. After doing more research and talking with a few different gunsmiths I have learned that Springfields rifles fall short on accuracy. My $600 model 700 out shoots the waypoint every time kinda sad save your money and buy something else
I'm left handed. Just buy it right handed and shoot it lefty. You're not taking speed shots for accuracy so the extra movement shouldn't matter. Unless that is what you're doing then forget what I said 😂
I love when manufacturers listen to their customers. The lighter, the shorter the better it is. The only problem with this rifle is the price. It is over priced for .75 moa. A 400 dollar Savage can do that.
Why is this Rifle so limited to these Calibers ?? No 30.06 ??? 7 PRC ?? 7mmRM ?? 300 MW ?? That's a deal breaker for me at this price point !! I will emphasize this... Springfield Armory releasing a gun without a 30.06 caliber option is like Dairy Queen making Milkshakes without Ice Cream ...It truly is an insult to the brand and to the Springfield Gun enthusiasts !! Epic Failure !!
I was stuck on getting a waypoint until the crest came out. I bought the Bergara is 308 and think I made the right choice. I hate carbon barrels though and the waypoint steel barrel just wasn't doing it for me

I’ve got the 6.5 PRC in this rifle and I love it. Enjoyed the interview
Thanks!
I would like to have this rifle in 7 PRC.

I think you will be happy, it looked really nice as far as I could see at the SHOT Show.

Nice interview. Most Americans won't appreciate how challenging it can be to interview a fast-speaker in a foreign language. It is VERY difficult.
Thanks!
I am happy that you liked the video.

Sorry, that is something I do not know. However, I would guess that at gunsmith could change the barrel.
I with you a nice day!

I own the 308 with the carbon barrel and adjustable stock. Its a tack driver and they knocked it out of the park for thier first bolt action.
Cool!
Good to know.

@@RedMooseHuntingi have 2 videos on my channel about it. Check them out.
What hunting ammo do you prefer for it? I just got the 308. Thanks
@@hiwayhighway9925 i love 168 grain a max from freedom ammunition. Dropped everything i have shot with it. Super accurate.
@@joshuascout5549 thank you for the reply. Will check it out
Why not use the 03 action instead of a push feed
The detachable magazine of my springfield is so loose, feel bad for picky buyers
Ok, good to know.

does this come in 300 PRC?

7mm-08 please

Any mag calibers in future
Sorry, can't answer that...

Springfield introduces a rifle and doesn't offer it chambered in the 30-06 Springfield; Instant epic fail.

But we need more chamberings. Why not something in 7mm rem mag or even 7mm prc.
