This is awesome. I run a small shop in Pensacola using a Pfaff 545. I have been sewing canvas for a number of years and I am still amazed at how much I have learned by watching your videos. Cant wait for the website.
Can't wait for your website to be up and running. I am new to this. I live in Canada where it is almost impossible to find in class or other tutorials. Where do you purchase your tapes? I have ordered from the States, but cannot find a supplier in Canada. Keep the videos coming...great voice!
Thanks for the vids, they are great. My biggest headache is trying to determine what fastener method should i use for enclosures, etc. weder trach vrs lift the dots, vrs snaps or common sense. Any kind of standard for what to do where? I do mostly medium size center consoles and trying to get larger sportfishers but my comfidence isnt quite there yet for the large. Also pricing is really difficult as well. Thanks, am subscribed and always looking for tips. Craig
Hey Craig, Great question, the answer is: it depends on the application. I guess I would say any time you can use a regular snap "cap and socket" I do. if you have an odd shaped panel that pulls in the wrong direction then use a lift the dot or common sense fastener. on Enclosure's I always try to use the awning rail track on top and bottom if I can.
Good to hear from you Harry, I use #1 or #2 grommets on almost everything I build. #1 for tie downs and #2 for tent pole ends. Keep up with the sewing once you have that down you can build anything. The servo motor will help a lot with the starting and stopping. Visit the site www.boatcanvasuniversity, When you register as a free member you will have access to 6 free courses.. Keep in touch John
