Keep in mind with the hydrangea, should you want to preserve them for holiday decorating and to have them last virtually indefinitely. 1 bottle of glycerine to 2 bottle of water. This method will keep the bloomis soft and supple like the way they were in the garden, rather than drying them and they get crunchy and messy to work with. So easy to do for the Christmas tree, wreaths, garlands and arrangements.
I did not think that I could sit through 40 odd minutes. However I did, your happy nature and your love for the garden and the jobs there in , make it and you a pleasure to watch and tap into your joy
Honey your garden is simply lovely!!! I love everything you are doing in it! If you ever want to do a little something extra you can look into moonlight garden. Its where you pick a little area like your woodland area that is darker because of shade and plant white flowers that bloom at night so when you look at that area at night it looks like shining moonlight in your garden. Lots of love! 🌚🎑💮🎴🌝
Roses *gasp* and inhale air immediately when cut. Run the sink with a bit of water, dip them in and cut at an angle under the water, keep there till ready to transfer to vessel. My eucalyptus grew into a massive and beautiful tree! It's roots began to lift the bricks on my house, so I had to have it cut and the stump ground. I want to start another a bit further from the house! If in a pot, your ok. If in the ground next to your greenhouse, move it when in correct season. Mine would turn light burgundy/ pink in the fall. Great to dry! Use lots in arrangements, fresh and dried! Your garden blows me away and inspires me so! Love your pitcher vase! Maybe look up some cut crystal at thrift stores! Beautiful, and will look amazing all over your home with your other decor! Also, thrift small bud vases to set about one or two blooms! I look forward to your work! Pinterest has tons of ideas. Finally, grab some florist frogs! Glass, spiked, pottery, rings. I collect them and use them for arrangements to stay put. There are hundreds of them out there! I'm addicted them! Find at antique stores rather reasonably! Now, Go girl ... Thrill, Fill, Spill!
I like that you're as obsessed as I am with the wildlife that visits your garden. I've interrupted conversations to exclaim: " oh daddy cardinal is at the feeder ...and now so is mum! Oh look, robin is in the bird bath, that's his second today."
You made a lovely bouquet from your garden. I love making floral arrangements and lots of different size or types of bouquets. It is such a joy to be able to do that out of one's own gardens. I especially love to make them to give away as well. I pick up small vases from thrift stores or garage sales so I can give away flowers already in a vase. Well done on your program I am sure you will be wonderful.
Your hair and the bouquet are gorgeous!❤ Congrats on being brave. You’re so natural and wonderful to watch no matter what you’re saying or doing! So try not to worry and be your lovely self. Love you, Catherine!❤❤🌸🌺🪷 Beautiful filming!
Good morning Catherine, congratulations on your cut flower bouquet. Yes, I grow flowers in my garden and make bouquets. I grow crocosmia and it looks beautiful along with the other flowers and it has good strong tall stems and flowers for quite a long time. I didn't buy plants to cut specifically as 'cut flowers', but I do cut flowers from my garden and a eucalyptus I had in a pot three years ago is now in the garden and is fifteen feet tall!!!! Mint is also nice because of the smell. Love your videos. God bless, Wendy (North Wales)
When my first daughter was born, my mother brought me roses cut from her garden. Their fragrance was Devine and they were so beautiful. Bought roses could never have matched their splendour. I’ve enjoyed your video so much, thank you x
...I knew I shouldn't of started watching these videos now I'm thinking about putting in a garden again...in a desert no less, in a dry camp with no running water...inspirational video to say the least❤
Isn't it a wonderful feeling to make a lovely bouquet from your own flowers? 💐You did a great job. 👏 The gardens look glorious. I do love all the shapes of the leaves and the many shades of green.🌿 The blooms many be the star of the garden but I have a spot in my heart for foliage ❤Have fun on the 📺🎬📽
Thank you for reminding me to cut some flowers to bring in my home. I also cut a bouquet to bring to my mother's tomorrow. She's going to love them since they are all from plants she has shared with me over the years.🌿🌸🌼🌺🌿
I just watched this video for a second time . how very lovely is your garden, Catherine! And your trial bouquet is perfect!!! Thanks for inspiring an old lady to grow and display a wild garden like this......utter delight!
As an art teacher and florist you r doing a great job. Ur learning as u go and sharing what ur learning with others. Keep goin ur garden is looking beautiful ❤
I love cutting flowers from my garden, right now the gladiolas are in bloom & absolutely gorgeous. Glads are kind of a pain as a cut flower but they are one of my favs.
I was watching Niall’s Garden and he had a clip of you in that episode! That was so cool. So that’s off the wall but I just watched it this morning and wanted to say it was great.
Lovely bouquet! I came to the same conclusion about roses. I bought some new rose plants in May, I smelled many blooms before I bought them. I want roses that has a lovely scent. Your garden is looking beautiful! Love your videos! Love and blessings, 💜😊 from New Hampshire, USA.
Your garden is so beautiful Katherine. I used to love planting bulbs and seeds when I lived in houses. Unfortunately now I've been living in an apartment, but thank you so much for sharing your gorgeous flowers and ideas. I live vicariously through you and your garden.😊🦋🐝💐🌼🌹🍃🌱🐦💖
I just love your garden 😍 Did you know you can cut peony buds when they are in the "marshmallow" stage before they open, then store them in the fridge for 1-2 months for a beautiful peony bouquet later in summer? You just have to wrap them in dry newspaper and put in a bag. They'll open up when you remove them from the fridge and arrange them in a vase. It's kinda fun to have them on your kitchen table when peonies have already finished for the season. ❤
💐Hi Catherine, and lovely friends watching. You are a delight to watch, and your enthusiasm is infectious. Just a gorgeous home and garden, and delightful bouquet. Congratulations on all your success and much more to come. P.S. I just love your accent and dream of visiting your beautiful country some day. Happy 4th to my “local” friends, and thank you Catherine for a really nice video - from Southeast Michigan USA ❤️🎉💙🎊❤️🎉💙🎊🐝
I call those small glass jar bouquets, cottage bouquets. My favorite for all those little flowers. I love to bring flowers in to enjoy inside, often a more upright vase or smaller throated one helps to hold your creation. Yours looked so pretty with the yellow and purple, and so fun finding all the flowers you have going in your garden.
I'm away on holiday with my grandbabies. While I'm having so much fun I'm worrying about my garden. I'm trying a new automated timer, I'm sure everything is fine but missing my garden for sure❤ Thank-you so much for sharing yours with us.
how wonderful to find your video today.....on a wintry day in Pa.....When I attempt to make a vase arrangement with fresh flowers it is nice to make a grid across the top of the vase with clear tape which holds the flowers in place.
Hi Catherine, lovely to see the garden it's beautiful lots of colour and lovely foliage. The barrels look lovely as well. Your bouquet is really pretty. You did a wonderful display. Great job .x
Such a lovely bouquet! You can cut the blooms on your beautiful coral bells (heuchera) in the front garden, too. They last a long time in the vase, and have long strong stems that can help hold up other flowers in an arrangement. Congratulations on another TV segment -- I know it'll be great!
Thank you, Catherine. I always enjoy your episodes and todays was no different. Thanks for the cut flower from your garden tips. Like you mentioned, I always stick my cut flowers in cold water.
You put together a beautiful bouquet, Catherine! The garden is full of colorful and looks marvelous. I constantly cut the flowers in my garden; so that I can enjoy them indoors.
Catherine, I pronounced campanula the same way you did. I went to a nursery and was asking about campanula and the nursery person looked very perplexed and then figured out what I wanted and told me the proper pronunciation. She did it in a way that didn't embarrass me. Good luck as a TV star😊
Beautiful, well done. It makes life easier to clean off your stems before you put the bouquet together, but you did a Durand job. Can can also use a basket weave of tape over the vase or tie with string to keep it from flopping too much. I am forever going to call them camp-a-Nola now LOL x
Love Hydrangeas, I also love stocks. Freshly cut flowers from ones garden is so special and brightens up any indoor space 😊 Your garden is looking gorgeous Katherine. Have fun doing your tv segment, practice makes perfect.
Hi Catherine that's fantastic news I knew your day would come for the telly . Beautiful flowers in your garden. Well done with everything 🎉❤ Patricia x
Honey, You are such an interesting person . We all love what ever you teaching! Not to worry about public speaking. Pretend you’re talking to a good friend. ❤🦔🐝🌸🕷️🐦⬛
Catherine I am so excited about your new found TV job. Next you will be on Outlander. Flower selection is lovely. What would be cute if you had a garden or Red Rider kids wagon full of flowers to take on set. Love the Butterfly Bush (Buddleia) from next door. That is massive. Show idea: How to root and propagate your neighbors plants! ha ha Cut flower bouquet is really pretty. Sometime I loosely tie my stems so they will stay together. Painted barrel I love the color. Rain barrel will be great to have. Will you please link the TV show. Good video. Thank you. Hi Karen.
I completely agree, I love my Crocs! I work at a High School and for years kids made fun of anyone wearing Crocs until they started wearing them to school, then it was "cool." 🙄😄
We do not cut off our flowers because we have a hive and they love them ❤. We do dead-head them though and get tons more flowers🎉. Hope you get bees this year... we have seen many bumblebees this season.
💐💐💐Wow the rose out the front looks amazing. Great choice of plants Dainty. Love the barrels - love the dahlia and that wallflower together . Those wine barrels are awesome planters huh. Good luck doing the telly segment - remember and tell yr brain "I am safe ! " 😉

Hey everyone. I asked Colourtrend if I could share the webinar with you, so here is the link to watch ua-cam.com/video/wuwGSBNO21Q/v-deo.html
Your bouquet is a 20. ❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Watching this again. I think I'm ready to start a cut flower garden. ❤
Lovely bouquet- Hint: put tape across your vase in a basket weave type shape. This will help hold up your flowers💕
Nothing like going out and picking a bunch from your own garden - yours was lovely!
The best feeling 😍😍
I'm glad I'm not the only one with a ton of Greenfly!! They're covering my sweet peas atm

You did a beautiful job and how I wish my Dad was around to see your amazing garden..M♥️M of 5
That sounds amazing 😍😍
I grew some of the large campanula from seed this year. The common name I’m familiar with is Canterbury bells. I need some of those giant alliums!
I grew the giant alliums this year they are amazing and the bees love them 🐝
Lovely bouquet! The reason for your "happy accident" of purple and yellow looking so grand together is the two colors are opposite on the color wheel. They are called complimentary colors. Same goes for blue & orange, red/pink & green. 25:04 is Tritelaia laxa commonly called Grassnut according to Picture This App.
I used to pronounce Calendula (kuh-len-dyuh-luh) as cal-en-doo-la. 😊
Cutting shrubs by a third is the rule of thumb for loads of shrubs. Now I'm off to watch your link of Colourtend Live.
I made a beautiful bouquet with roses i had from deadheading - lasted a good few days after 🌹
