I've had the freeware version of this plugin for awhile now and I find myself using it much more than I thought I would... at some point I'm going to have to spring for the full edition, but ...I'm so damned cheap. Anyway, thanks to the designers for the freeware - sincerely appreciated!
I've had all the Auburn Sounds plugins for awhile now...they are definitely different, and a lot of fun to play around with, but it's very easy to completely mangle a track with them...
To be honest, at first I found the White studio guy a bit annoying. To much talk and to much "look at me". But now, I Think he´s the best in the business. Life can be strange. : )
This not an "effect", this is about stereo and depth placement. This is a psycho-acoustic tool, that may work fine for individual placement. Too be used with caution cuz phase and monocompatibility. But for a given mix, when used on every track, it can create the sensation for the listener to be in the middle of the performance. For use of binaural set-up, see Tchad Blake's work.
Nothing freaky about the stereo image, its a great plugin, not a sniff of snake oil. It's got a mono check button, so as long as you keep checking for phase issues its fine, especially for free.
@@Whiteseastudio Well that sucks :( Of course, it's your content, your videos, your patreon, your decision. But I'll be a bit sad about seeing less of your videos
It's not as versatile as that plugin, but have you ever experienced that lovely piece of kit from the 1980's known as the BSR SE-One Spatial Enhancer? I have one and I absolutely LOVE it! My uncle had one when I was a kid so when I was old enough to shop for myself, I just knew I had to have one and have held onto it and used it for years.
Nice review, guess I get this plug :) The reason why you don't get the signal in the front is because its static binaural synthesis. You need dynamic binaural synthesis to make this effect happen. There's a lot of "distortion" happening because of the wide Range of diferences between individual Head-Related-Transfer-Functions! I made some test with dynamic binaural synthesis with my own HRTFs and this works quite ok. Could be a thing for gaming in the future. For producing music binaural is hart to mix in, also because of mono-compatibility. I do it anyway :)
The effect is pretty cool with headphones. Sounded quite 3 dimensional to me. This plugin would be great for game audio to make sound effects more immersive.
So I am excited to watch the video because I had been checking this plugin out and used it on a track recently on some stems...I like the amount the plugin gives for free and the upgrade is reasonable...the LFO feature is also very handy for quick side chain like effect and I would love more control over this feature , like say ya get with a plugin called "Duck" which I love (video Idea) :) heh , back after I watch this...
YEs EXACTLY I used it as an automation tool as well.... its interesting to use the dot and sweeping around as inspired... once ya work out how you can isolate a certain freq range then it workds great as a doubler of large sections of a piece or the whole thing,... its cool... good vid too.. fair I think
also if ya double a track and work around with the LFO section ya can really slide in a nice depth and spread to the mix ... its like an ambience juicer... lol
another great vid bigW !! thanks !! great breakdown mmm would have been "complete" if used it in a mix track? saved me from more in box crud i dont need !!
Have i missed something? Tilt controls on a Binaural plug in generally relates to the Z access.... Up and down... Surely the Tilt isnt just an eq, though in this vid it seems so.. Also, I use Binaural mainly to play certain FX behind the listener.... Sometimes its spot on, seems behind you, sometimes not, but it still adds a depth normally not possible any other way.. Seems the interface doesn't allow placement behind......hmmmm.... Guess Ill check the demo.
If you listen carefully to the Tilt widget in Panagement, it is definitely a Flat Tilt EQ such as the one in FabFilter Pro-Q. It makes the sound darker or brighter. Panagement does 2D placement, not 3D placement.
the Decay time is not in milliseconds like it should unlike most plugins but in percentage instade Since Reverb is a time Based effect and I like calculating predelay & Decay time so it is in sync with Tempo what to do in this case bro?
A track from Sandstorm, it's Darude.. used to be other way round just sayin. (: thank you, interesting stuff. I wonder if some Developers who send stuff calculate it's difficult to shit on them if they got the balls to ask for a roast. (;
I use this as a free alternative to the likes of virtual sound studio, for positioning instruments in the correct orchestral placements. I don’t use the reverb part, just the panning.
The fact that you're panning and placing an instrument with your eyes and not your ears is going to cause problems later when you listen back without the visual feedback.
This plugin is cool, however it's 100% NOT mono compatible, if you use the "near-far" thing, in a mono speaker the instrument disappears, I think it's phase cancelation or something
Can you explain why it's not really a binaural panner and is more of an fx plugin? You just said this without justification. You didn't really explain.
Checkout 2C-Audio multi-track “binaural panner” Precedence in combination with their Breeze reverb. A very interesting solution for mixing multiple instruments in the same room. www.2caudio.com/products/precedence
That's pretty clever to migrate your more negative snake oil videos to patreon only. It isolates you from those who might argue more strongly. Healthy dialog? Well that's reduced, but it's understandable.
Hey!! I was wondering, i just released my very first self-produced album, and i just wanted to share it with you, i've been following your channel since 2 years ago maybe, that i started with the music production, and it's been very helpful for me not only, getting useful tips, but as part of my routine to stay stress-free and i really enjoy your videos, i do not want any kind of free promotion or something like that, just share my music with people tha's been important through the process, so thank you very much and i'm really hoping to share my music with you!! if you aprove i'll send some links to the WSS e-mail, i just don't want to just send them and spam or something like that.
@@Whiteseastudio Hi. Thank you for replying. I do understand that you want to give those supporters an extra goodie. And I do appreciate that you don't forget who made you're channel big. All the lovers of your snake oil videos, and that you therefore still will show some of them to the big audience :) I'd love too support you too but if I would give every body whom YT channel I really appreciate just one dollar I would get broke. I am giving some money per month to Greenpeace and the rest of the time I'm trying to get by unbroke :) Have joy and be sound
i promise to never watch your vids if in the end you'll say Snake Oil, simply because I LOVE IT and It"s a Great Plugin, so :) What is going to be Mister Plugin Expert :) ?
This plugin (in my opinion) just touched almost every spot in the stereo field that you can! Its awesome!
I just love those small companies. Be it them or Klanghelm. Very fair pricing and good support.
Usually don't comment but there plugins are superb. Much better than big names payware
Thanks.
You forgot to show us what the PGMT-400 chip mod does. Dammit.

Auburn's Couture is one of the best transient designers ever, imo.
Yeah
Heard of that one already but was never sure if it's worth the money... really useful !

@Michael Wirth ?? Too much "Look at me"?? How? I agree he is annoying though, but that's typical for being Dutch :P We all are :)

Noo. You didn't watch the trailer. You missed the fun part :(
I saw the trailer for this plugin on a stream by Daniel James. It was hilarious 🤣
But, man has conquered space.... Can he conquer panning?

you never checked what the chip thing was?
The Snake-Oil videos released on Patreon will be released on UA-cam at a later date?

big up vote for Panagement.
Can be interesting for ambient.
Ambisonics is brilliant. I have never had much success with binaural.

what are your thoughts on crosstalk plug-ins for headphone mixing such as Redline Monitor from 112dB or CanOpener from GoodHertz?

panagement is cool and all but if you wanna review an excellent binaural panner that will even convince you then try dearVR music
Which plugins are u using for panning and this binaural stuff?
