I'm guessing you've only watched Hereditary once? The first time I saw it I was not impressed. A friend suggested I watch it again and I LOVED it the 2nd time.
@@letsgetrealradioshow I have watched it multiple times for sure. I'm a horror junkie so I will definitely watch things I don't enjoy more than once, and at different times in my life, because there's absolutely been films that I didn't enjoy at one point and then did at another. This isn't one of those films...however, that being said, I'll watch it once more and report back on my feelings.
@@letsgetrealradioshow OK, watched it last night again. I'll admit it wasn't nearly as bad as I remember, however I still didn't really enjoy it for a couple reasons. It was too long at 2 hours. The first 20 minutes can be completely thrown away because, as far as I'm concerned there is very little that moves the story forward. I think it should have been edited down by at least 15 minutes to make a tighter movie. Casting. I think the casting was off. Alex Wolff was WAY too old and seeing him baling his eyes out and screaming "Mommy" felt really weird. A boy grown that old doesn't call his mother "Mommy" anymore. I also didn't like Milly Shapiro either, but that problem solves itself. Also, direction was a little off. I did not like Toni's performance. There was far too much wailing, just too much. She starts at 11 and there's nowhere to go. And then Alex wails and it's just screaming and crying. I get the suffering and pain, but it needed to be telegraphed to the viewer in different ways. I find it to be more of a suspense and thriller film than horror.
I absolutely could not stand that movie. One of the worst "horror" I've ever seen. Right up there with The Babadook.
