Hi Swan Thinks channel, thank you so much for your sharing. I found that your sharing is very useful and helpful for me to decide on whether to withdraw my EPF. Look forward to more youtube videos from your channel. Keep up the great work!
I just got mine too. High five 🖐 In my case I plan to invest the sum across all my long term investments. The idea here is to shift over these savings under my control. Firstly this will boost the nest egg I’m building (epf not included). Secondly should I decide to retire earlier I would have the option to do so.

@@SwanThinks Yeah I kinda was thinking the same. From what I see the MBA on its own doesn’t guarantee increased income. What are your thoughts on taking out the money, say rm 10k, and putting it into stashaway singapore?. Seems better to earn some interest in sg dollars. Target duration is 15 years.
Stashaway Malaysia will in fact convert your investments into usd/gbp depending on your profile. I'm not sure how they decide on whether to do USD or gbp as mine was in USD while my father was auto assigned gbp. If you're concerned about currency risk, I doubt rm10k will make too much of a difference even after compounding comparing sgd/usd/gbp
@@SwanThinks thanks. What are you thoughts on stashaway singapore with montly dollar cost averaging via a sg bank account? It might be a good idea to park some money out of malaysia..
@@BalrajSingh-gg3qm I think putting it in Stashaway Malaysia is good enough for me, because they convert it to USD anyways so your investments are tied to that currency, and the assets you hold are also outside Malaysia :) You have to keep in mind the transaction costs of transferring and converting MYR to SGD may end up not being worth it, unless u earn in SGD of course
@@SwanThinks Hi. I'm just wondering since u mentioned Stashaway MY will auto convert into USD. In term of timing and market condition now, does this mean if I were to start investing with Stashaway MY now, will I be at disadvantage/premium price as currently US market is strengthening against Ringgit? This is as comparison to few months ago where USD were somewhere 4.04 range whereas now hover around 4.11 mark.
@@izzazross6027 i am no expert, but the saying that time in the market is always better then timing the market. if your going to dollar cost average into the market its fine, however if your putting in a lump sum, then now may not be a good time
Hello, at the age of 66 you can withdraw any and all savings from your epf without limitations. However, it's better to keep some within epf as it is an extremely safe investment
@@SiriusTheKid if you have an online I-account, you can make a withdrawal through that portal. If you don't have an I account yet, you can go to their physical counters to make the withdrawal (you can also register for an online account with them at the counter). You can even set up auto monthly withdrawals so it's like a salary payment every month :)
Good insight Swan. Do you think with the vaccine roll out this year domestically and globally, EPF might still perform well (when it announces its dividend next year) despite the reduced fund size available?
I think it will roll out this year, the logistics seem to be manageable. But even then I doubt the epf will do as well as it did in 2020. They have limited flexibility to take advantage, not impossible of course but quite difficult to manage at this point
Hello, I got mine within 2 days of making the application. You don't have to "return back", but what happens is your next few normal epf contributions will go into account 1 until the balance is restored before it split up again to account 1 + account 2. Hope this isn't confusing haha
@@jamxeon4927 yes! You can self contribute up to 60k to your epf every year. Very easy to do on their online I-account platform. So no worries if you want to put back in :)

Great Video, clear and straight to the point… Just a comment, your face is not focus and is a little blurred… Well Done after all…

I made my application as well :) happy investing!
I chose to withdraw through iSinar too for reason #2 too. Great content Swan! 🙌🏻

Exactly my thoughts! I originally had 50% in epf which I thought was a bit high, but now slowly diversifying for more flexibility :)
