Dude! That was one of your best videos! She did sooo good! But the instructor actually instructed and she learned. That’s how’s it’s supposed to be done!! Both of you did great!
Dude.... You have a gift. Teaching is tough and particularly flying. I notice you approach it with positive encouragement and meticulous redundant reinforcement. Really enjoyed the video :)
I am in the middle of my PPL so not a lot of street cred but letting her go ahead and stall it into an "almost spin" was great. I teach medical students and Residents. They learn the most when they almost mess up.@@LewDixAviation
As someone who is at a very similar stage of training, I can relate to almost every moment in this one! Keep up the great Ella! And Lew, great working on the teaching moments! How you delivery the message and the desired learning outcome is first class!
Great video! When I was a student, I had the same confusion about the ball not being in the cage. I learned that staring at the ball during a power on stall is useless. Now I keep my eyes outside and judge the movement of the nose against either clouds in the distance, or the ground off the edge of the dash. It's the best way to get visual real-time information about yaw during the maneuver.
9:43 That's awesome! I wish the yahoos who fly cross-country in their cubs at pattern altitude discussing their weekend with their buddies had 1/4 the radio discipline as the radio transmission she just gave. Well done!
Working on my cfi now and struggling a lot with landings on the Cessna 172 all my training is been on piper archer this man is a gem like your way to teach 😂making the flight a pleasurable experience
Great job! Really happy to see these kinds of videos going on right now as I'm working my way through my training. Also, received the 172S checklist today. Quality is spot on!
Hey Lew! Great video as always! Quick question, where are you instructing out of? Im a new CFI in the central Florida area with a prospective student and just looking around for a club or school that works with independent CFIs, thanks again!
Don’t apologise.. it’s a great question. You want to write everything down that you think is important. Winds, visibility, clouds, temperature/dewpoint, altimeter setting, runway in use and any notams that they announce on there 🙌🏻 EFB’s have specific scratchpads for the ATIS with sections for you to write everything in. Makes it simple.
I like the way she keeps calm and focused as she learns. She’s not someone who gets flustered.
She’s definitely focused on being the best she can be
13:53 NICE!!!!! Situational awareness. That sort of awareness has saved lives. It’s amazing she caught that.
That’s my student 🥹

She's handling it well at that stage, she's going to make a great pilot, doesn't hurt she's got an great instructor 👍
Appreciate it mate!
It’s my goal to be a cfi like you sir. Awesome video!
Ah thank you!
great way to handle the situation...once again showing how your personality keeps the students positive
and the 'if you fck up you fck up it is what it is" was a great way to give her confidence over the mic fright
Thank you sir!
I love watching new students learn this stuff they're lucky enough to have a great environment to learn in that you provide.
Thank you man!

Great video, Lewis! Masterful instruction. Thanks for bringing us along!
The best feeling is your first landing!! Love you boss keep it up🤘🏻
She has such a great attitude to the lesson, and your laid-back approach is superb!
Thank you!
@@LewDixAviation My pleasure. I would love to be taught by you.
You’re a great CFI, very thorough in your explanations and positive feedback, great job.

This brings back so many memories of my early training. Well done to the student and teacher!!!
Glad to bring those memories back!
Aviate, navigate, communicate! Awesome job and amazing instruction Lew
Thanks man!
1st landing...great feeling!
Excellent instructional video, love to see your enthusiasm and your constant positive reinforcement for the student!

The 172 is so bad compared to PA28 😂 You’ll get there! Glad you like my style 🙌🏻
Thnx a lot
You are the best CFI in America, if not the world. Also, Ella is already a great pilot!
That’s very kind of you to say!
So proud of you Ella!! Always pushing through!!
💪🏻

Nice! Glad you like it! Use it well!
She’s doing really good. Keep it up Ella!
Great job!
The joys of a student. Good job!
Great informative video, Lewis! 👍🏻
Great job! Love the amount of encouragement. Makes the money spent learning worth it.

Much better landing than mine Last Friday (01.05.24) 😂😂😂😂
Lew makes me want to take flying lessons, and I"m scared of flying .
Haha that’s a huge compliment!
Sorry for my ignorance, but what do you need to write every time you get an weather report?

Two cuties in one plane😉😂
Another great video mate🏴
weird bro
🙌🏼🤜🏼🤛🏼
What's her flight hours?
Do you still work for silver airways?
Nope
@@LewDixAviation what happened with silver airways? I didn’t see an explanation video
She's available I bet...oh my.
From what i saw, elle was a far too timid with the controls. That should improve with experience.
Nice video. The student is unnecessarily laughing with big open mouth. Is she serious to learn flying, which is a serious business.
Imagine thinking you can’t fly and have fun 😅 Yea she actually passed her checkride and even cracked a smile while she was doing it. Pretty crazy.
Great video I live about an hour from Orlando. Any chance of doing a discovery flight with you? It would be a dream of mine!!!!!
