Americans should know how much money each politician gets and from whom once a year 3 months before election time, make it mandatory to see what was spent and on what, any fun’s remaining should be added to social security. In addition what bills the recipients vote for or against so we can get the corruption out of our democracy.
6:00 The SCOTUS continues their flawless run to end the session. Every state has legal standing regarding student loan forgiveness. The easiest way to explain how, is to follow the money. Most student loans are backed by the federal goverment, and the income they generate is redistributed among all states. Any change to the incoming revenue affects every state that issues student loans, so you can throw the standing issue out. Second, the key terminology in the case is the use of the word "modify," which unfortunatly for students, has decades of precedent regarding its meaning. When dealing with car loans, house loans, and bankruptcies, modifying a loan historically refers to changing payment durations, pauses, and interest rate adjustments, but never includes forgiveness. The only time loans are "modified" at the level President Biden desires is actually called "restructuring," which he doesn't have the authority to do. The three dissenting judges are again making themselves appear as if they actually do lean towards liberalism, and may be considered activists by modern standards. I just don't understand what logic they are applying to these cases. The LBGTQ ruling was not landmark and is simply an extension of the precedent set in MASTERPIECE CAKESHOP, LTD., ET AL. v. COLORADO CIVIL RIGHTS COMMISSION ET AL. It's standard case law, and the hypothetical situation this show mentions is not relevant. The reason LBGTQ rights always lose this battle is because there are established religions that are specifically against unions between the same sexes. The shoe could never be on the other foot, because as far as I know, there are no "recognized" religions that have issues with hetrosexual unions, or any other protected aspects of society. As you probably fear, this ruling can always be used against the community because freedom of religion is guaranteed, and no indivdual can be forced to do something that goes against their religion (note I did not use the word "beliefs" because that is not the law). Also, websites are not off-the-shelf products. The implication insults every web dev doing design work.
Was perplexed by that, too... web design described as off-the-shelf? No! It is very customized and can't be found easily unless you know what you want and the person skilled enough to do it.
The Republican anathema that is driving all of our issues must be discarded as soon as is possible by law. It is insane that the right can have that much power. Millions of people are going to lose their homes and their livelyhoods.
what's sick is the same people applauding that students aren't getting any help will cheer til they're blue in the face when multi-billion dollar corporations get subsidies (which actually do come from the taxpayer) and the PPP loans that many businesses and republican senators took out being forgiven
Blows my mind how people still get scammed in the age of information. There is NO reason for anyone to be scammed anymore 😑
Age of over information you mean. The problem there is to much disinformation. Look at all the Trump supporters scammed by the fake currency scam.
Good reporting, thx thx👏🌟👏
Fabulous George Santos is gonna be polishing bulbous spurting heads in prison! 🤣
so happy about the decision why should other people pay for the student loans I don't want to pay for someone else
Excellent job on the reporting of the Crypto (klepto) scam. Now that's a good reporter!

I never stopped paying on my loan. However, I can't believe people are applauding the fact that students didn't get financial relief.
