Props to the funny replies, but in all seriousness - guns like that revolver are freeze-proof. They fire in all conditions, including covered in ice. They worked fine in World War II and Korea in sub-zero temperatures.
With the right connections etc though. Perfect for prison killings and ambushes, but you can't be too mad at them for thinking they're sloppy. That being said though, having a bunch of loaded neo nazis on your tail is definitely worse than having nobody on your tail
It's funny how in this episode everyone either didn't care if Jesse died or actively wanted him dead. Except for Walt who is the one person Jesse actually hates and is scared of. There is some kind of bizarre deeply personal relationship between Walt and Jesse that just became one of the most toxic relationships in TV history. Hank showing that he had no concern for Jesse dying, even considering it a positive if Walt killed him, just showed how much catching Walt is his obsession. Hank is breaking a lot of rules to get what he wants and in a way becomes a sort of reflection/opposite of Walt.

Yet, they all sympathize with Mike and think Walt was wrong for killing him (despite Mike already attempting to kill Walt first). Not very balanced points of view.

On the other hand, this meeting was set up in response to Jesse flooding his living room with gasoline. The only logical response that Walt can arrive at here is that Jesse intends to target his family directly. Once he arrived at that conclusion, there was nothing left. It didn't matter what Walter felt for Jesse, Jesse had become an open threat to his family, and Skyler was right. Jesse needed to be put down, for his family's safety.
Guns won't get jammed. They're all metal. O-rings, rubber pieces, electronics etc may deteriorate with freeze and heat, but guns don't have any of that. Pure mechanical mechanism.
The only problem with putting a gun in a freezer would be getting the gunpowder damp in whatever rounds are in the gun. If it's unloaded, however, the gun will work fine.
It's ironic that in the mellow parts of the series, Imon and Abi are always paranoid that something is going to blow up. But in the beginning of this episode, where it is very intense and we don't know if Jesse is inside the house, they are completely calm lol

It was always established that Hank despises criminals more than anything. Recall a conversation between Walt and Hank in season 2: Walt: "Where is it you think criminals come from?" Hank: "Buddy, you might as well be asking me about the roaches. When you see one crawling around, what do you do? You don't think about it; you just step down." That conversation tells you all you need to know about Hank and how he feels about crime.

This really showed that Hank was every bit as flawed as Walt in his own way. Willing to circumvent the rule of law for his own desires ... to bring down Walt at all costs, no matter who gets caught in the crossfire, or what laws are bypassed along the way.

Why would he? He's only interacted with Jesse's friends twice up to this point, and the first time, he had only met Pete in passing when Jesse was in the hospital. It's not like they were ever formally introduced. In fact, the only period that they would have had any reason to interact was back when Jesse was still selling for Walt, and Walt explicitly did not want to have anything to do with the sales process. Just because we saw parts of Jesse's life doesn't mean that Walt did.
The Dude96 I totally agree Mike suggested killing Jesse so many times, fring, etc. and even tho yes he did kill Jane that was a toxic relationship where both were going to end up overdosing or she would have spent all of his money. Walt loves him like a son but he can never admit it. Hank, Skyler, and Marie all have done sketchy shit throughout the show, yet Walt is always demonized not them.
Uh, Hank didn't mind the possibility that Walt might kill Jesse. So if that did happen it would still be Walt's fault. Also he has no reason to care about Jesse. This may be easy to forget, but most characters in a show aren't attached to each other the way were attached to them, because they haven't watched the show!

This may be the most intense set up episode of all time. The next few episodes are what it builds towards and it does an excellent job in doing so. The anticipation was off the roof in the final season.
This episode shows how Walt actually cares about Jesse. We can see how Saul, Skyler and Hank don't care with Jesse dying but not Walt. The ending was Walt thinking this is as the last measure

I have never thought Walt truly cared about Jesse. I see his protection (maybe sometimes affection) as that of an addict who hangs onto whatever their trigger is. Jesse is another piece that allows him to bask in his glory, like the Walt Whitman book. Or to put it another way: Walt doesn't care about Jesse, but Heisenberg does. Heisenberg needs his ego fix every once in a while, like earlier this season when he visits Jesse and reminisces about old times. If all he had wanted to do was give Jesse his money he could have done that through Saul, but he also wanted to feel powerful again, and what better way to do that than to look at your reflection in Jesse's eyes. Now Walt caring about Hank is a real thing. Knowing you have already seen "Ozymandias" I'll ask this question: would Walt ever offer to give up all his barrels of money for Jesse? I gotta say no.

I was naughty last night Ju. We went out at 5.0pm for 2 drinks & got chatting to 2 couples. It was one of their birthdays. We were going to come back to the caravan at 6.30pm & Debbie was cooking tea. BUT the drink was flowing & we had shots & all sorts. We got home at 10.0pm and I was very drunk. Debbie tried to get me in bed but I fell down & cracked my head on the corner of a table. I got up at 10.45 this morning and I’ve had the shakes and felt nervy all day. I do feel a lot better now though. We’ve stayed in tonight. I think the combination of too much drink & no food was asking for trouble and I got it. Debbie was ok really. The only logical response that Walt can arrive at here is that Jesse intends to target his family directly. Once he arrived at that conclusion, there was nothing left. It didn't matter what Walter felt for Jesse, Jesse had become an open threat to his family, and Skyler was right. Jesse needed to be put down, for his family's safety.

Just because we saw parts of Jesse's life doesn't mean that Walt did.

This may be the most intense set up episode of all time. The next few episodes are what it builds towards and it does an excellent job in doing so. The anticipation was off the roof in the final season.
This episode shows how Walt actually cares about Jesse. We can see how Saul, Skyler and Hank don't care with Jesse dying but not Walt. The ending was Walt thinking this is as the last measure

I have never thought Walt truly cared about Jesse. I see his protection (maybe sometimes affection) as that of an addict who hangs onto whatever their trigger is. Jesse is another piece that allows him to bask in his glory, like the Walt Whitman book. Or to put it another way: Walt doesn't care about Jesse, but Heisenberg does. Heisenberg needs his ego fix every once in a while, like earlier this season when he visits Jesse and reminisces about old times. If all he had wanted to do was give Jesse his money he could have done that through Saul, but he also wanted to feel powerful again, and what better way to do that than to look at your reflection in Jesse's eyes.
Now Walt caring about Hank is a real thing. Knowing you have already seen "Ozymandias" I'll ask this question: would Walt ever offer to give up all his barrels of money for Jesse? I gotta say no.

I was naughty last night Ju. We went out at 5.0pm for 2 drinks & got chatting to 2 couples. It was one of their birthdays. We were going to come back to the caravan at 6.30pm & Debbie was cooking tea. BUT the drink was flowing & we had shots & all sorts. We got home at 10.0pm and I was very drunk. Debbie tried to get me in bed but I fell down & cracked my head on the corner of a table. I got up at 10.45 this morning and I’ve had the shakes and felt nervy all day.
