I came here after getting bodied in the Hardmode Trial of the Sword by the first Talus. I was hoping to find a grand secret to beating them like with the Metal Bracing Hinox and an electric weapon, but unfortunatly it looks like tedious arrow shots is the best method. However it's good to know how much damage they do on normal difficulty, so thanks for that.
I’ve beaten botw multiple times before, but I’ve always been too afraid of the talus to face them. I’ve finally decided that I should go for 100% play through before tears of the kingdom comes out, and I finally beat my first talus!
4:28 - if you have the complete cold weather armor set at up to 2⭐️, you’ll get the Unfreezeable set bonus to solve the freezing problem. • Also, the Taluses with the nodes on their back are easier to destroy than you think. Simply equip a multi-shot arrow (Savage Lynel Bow x 5 is the best), do a bullet time jump, and fire on the node until the Talus goes down.
quick kill guide: need sledgehammer and paraglider *obtain sledge hammer from stasis shrine then travel to Talus. *wake him up with a bomb *then jump up onto the top of a wide tree and use your paraglider and land onto his head and use the sledge hammer. Easiest way to kill talus with no damage taken and miminal damage and use of weapons/startegies- the sledgehammer does 12 damage and you can get him on the first go spamming the sledgehammer against his core with no re-trys (falling off and doing it all again). * edit 1: only when environment suits (where you can use paraglider)

you can take no hits from it if you just stay near it legs and walk behind it when it tries to punch you, this is how I defeated the lake talus. Now im trying to defeat the stone talus at deya ruins but the stone thing is on its back so idk how to hit it.
I'm just starting the game and running into one of these with 3 hearts, it took me a while to kill it with flimsy rusty swords and axes, next time I'll definitely trying the arrow attacks. Do you have a good way to kill a Hinox? (the one that revives in the nights)
Or climb him when he misses his arm throw, grab hold of him, climb to the ore deposit, pull out heavy sword (the charge attack is a spin), spam the fuck outta that desposit, profit.
Yo just use the boulder crusher you get from daruk after completing the fireblight ganon its so effective on the black rock on top of the boss itself btw aim for the black rock with ice arrows I THINK THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO DEFEAT HIM LEMME KNOW IF TRUE
once you get that hammer from that shrine, i don't believe it respawns. my go-to places for sledgehammers are: Kakariko Village, behind the tree next to the graveyard there (north side of the village) and Link's house in Hateno - after you speak to the Bolson crew and tell them you're interested in buying the house, they will put down those 2 hammers against the wall of the house. every blood moon these hammers respawn. i'm sure there are other places like that but for now those are my #1 sledgehammer locations.
I just got of the great plautu and lile 20 mins later I found one lmao I broke most of my stuff and no armour and my sword does 4 damage I was just lucky there lmao

Easiest way to beat him is haul ass at him before he grows. Stay on top of him and use the iron sledge hammer. U can beat him in like 15 seconds. Ur welcome 😁
No, no, you just made the biggest mistake. Glide on top of the rocks that are actually the stone talus, then whack it with a sledgehammer like 6 times.
i literally hid behind another rock and then just kept climbing on it and throwing bombs at it til it died. highly effective. 10/10. 0 damage taken
Just climb on stasis and hit its ore with a bow in bullet time

nope not really it kinda easy
Use a magnetic rock and just hit the rock part with it killed it at 4 hearts and the a 4 armor armor set in like 2 minutes

Haha it's not that big a deal. You don't have to fight it, keep your distance and it'll just chill on the ground.

Just hit it's eye
Ya just shoot it in the eye and use the Stasis once upgraded and charge up weapon. Or just shock it using Urbosas Fury if you have it

You need to get Spirit Orbs by completing Shrines. You then take those spirit orbs to a Goddess statue in any of the Villages.
Just hide behind a tree and his rock throwing attacks can’t hit you
