Amin didn't feel this because he was a tyrant. His people did, though, as famine was widespread. Be careful who you celebrate. Those forces are still at it and they brew fake conflicts between neighbors especially in Africa by feeding the greed of a few against the prosperity of many.
They meddle in our internal affairs and pretend to care about our children and their human rights more than we do ourselves then they bring in their United Nations to manage their Neo-colonialism.
God willing Africans will wake up one day and understand that we are capable of running our own affairs and we will understand our neighbor’s prosperity and peace can never affect us negatively only in a positive way.

It is the greed of the African leadership that were able to be bought off by corporations. In the past the corporations were European & Arab, but now they are Chinese. So stop with your 'African countries were and are victims or colonial powers'. Yeah? So was China, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong. Stop blaming other people for these problems. mwanguhya edgar , Amin was very good for uganda but there is no need for comparison with or downplaying what Museveni has done for Uganda also. I know you could be irritated by him over a number if things, no one is perfect and that goes for Museveni too.
I appreciate the fact that Uganda’s presidency was a revolving door of failed leaderships after another of several months or years each until the strong man Kaguta took power and showed leadership that saved Uganda from becoming another Somalia.
When he took over unlike some of his his predecessors he brought confidence back to the people of Uganda and allowed Ugandans to take for granted their peace and security and relative prosperity and Uganda today can be compared to its larger neighbors in some respects even considering the retrogression of the many years before his rule.
Criticizing Museveni is fine but in my opinion if we put his good deeds against his bad on a scale I have no doubt the bad will be almost insignificant.

Uganda never wanted him back, but it's become fashionable recently to idolize despots and tyrants of the past after enough time has passed and people confuse brutality with strength. Ugandans talked about how for years they would hear the screams of their own brothers and sisters coming from the basement of Nakasero.
