Hello Joe & Emily, great posting and nice to hear it fire up, One quick mechanics tip, when pouring liquids if you invert the container for oil, petrol etc so that the spout is at the top rather than below, it lets the air in as you pour so you don't get the violent glug glug spill spill everywhere, but instead a smooth continuous more manageable flow, although it will need a slight twist if the container has a raised handle above the spout like the oil container you had, plus it's more cost effective and saves having to clear up any spillage afterwards, hope this helps.
Lovely to meet you guys this morning and looking forward to going through your videos when I get some free time. TA for the info aswell I've got a new mirror now. 😂
Fantastic work & effort you two! I'm sure it's fairly difficult to kick start a rebuilt motorcycle in those world famous slippers Emily! A great try but all because of Joe's twitchy eye didn't see the plug wire missing! The bike looks absolutely amazing & clean! Incredible inspiration you both are! Sorry I didn't catch this live as you know I'm in my 2nd dream! Can't wait to see this beautiful motorcycle back on the road!
Enjoyed the video as usual. I spent a lot of the first eight minutes wincing and then "Phew"...then I started worrying and I think your public (well, me anyway) deserves to know... 1) did you have "musical differences"? 2) did you find it/them in the drain pan? 3) did you realise you were about to lose a stone &/or scratch something? I'm talking of course about the ring(s)... 🤣 All in jest ☕
Great stuff . Nice to see ya working together . Great stream . I have one of these to get running and i am dreading that bloody kick start . At the age of 65 its not going to end well . Usually ends up with me suffering cramps at night after a day in the workshop trying to kick start an old bike lol.
Kick starting an old British single is a dying art.. Good to see/hear you are using the decompressor to get over top dead centre. But you are making life too exciting for yourself. At the bottom of the kick stroke you do NOT have to jump off the lever and let it bang back up. Even if the engine fires, the ratchet on the kickstarter will prevent it kicking back when you get to the bottom of the stroke. So kick firmly and let it rest at the bottom of the stroke before allowing it to rise gently as you ease the pressure off your foot.. Experience from the 60's with 500 BSA and Veiocette singles.
What does that sign next to the window say? 🤔 It starts with, "I Don't Snore." But, I can't make out the rest. Deb says I snore, and I say I don't, I'd certainty like a better comeback when she says I do.
I know that nervousness when kicking a good comprehension bike over, and I love that Emily is involved. Love watching your videos.
Nice to hear her running! I enjoy the videos.
It’s nice to see that both our videos today featured hard starts!!!!

The rocking horse poop bit had me grinning. Love it. Here we might say, "rare as hens teeth." I'm definitely adding yours to my vocabulary.
Oh no, teabag in a cup 😮
Don’t forget to refill the oil tank after the timing chest has been refilled from oil draining down from the rockers lowering its level
